@@philmakris8507I'll have to watch Dawn Marie's reaction to this, she always makes me smile😊. Thought Jyn would get though, and it's so annoying that films which were so original back then now seem so easy. That's a good thing though because now writers and directors have to up their game to stay one step ahead of the audience... Still waiting, but one day🤔
in 2024, Spacey is probably the most recognizable name/face in this cast. in 1995 he was practically a newcomer compared to some of those other names. he won an oscar for this =)
It’s one thing to throw out a theory or even voice a gut instinct, but the real “aha!” moment for her was when Verbal/Keyser shot the guy in the van so cleanly. Up until that moment it was just a theory.
42:25 I met an ex-cop once and asked him why he left the police. He explained exactly that mindset you describe here, and he said he just had grown suspicious of everyone and realized he didn't want to look at the world that way anymore, so he quit.
Kaiser did time with Keaton pretending to be Verbal. That's how they know each other. The lawyer showing up is there to let you know the events went down as described, but with different names and with Kaiser killing the thieves he sent to the boat. Keaton realized like the detective that Verbal was actually Kaiser too late, when Verbal was standing over him after shooting him.
Soze had to fake his limp and everything for a very long time in order to set the guys up properly. It was a long process, but he was all about getting revenge and settling scores. I like to believe the story Verbal told about Soze´s history was real because it makes it a better story overall IMO. And yes: all of the guys were killed. That was the point: for them to get on the ship, so Soze could get close to the snitch and kill him. The guys were expendable (to Soze).
Hey, ladies, shout out from your favorite US Marine! So disappointed that you actually got this, but no big deal because so many people don't get this at the end. I actually saw this coming. So I'm the ones that would have spoiled this but oh man, what a great movie though! I want to give you more movies like. this, but I don't want to spoil them for you, so I don't want to say anything! Love you, ladies. Hopefully you guys are having a great weekend!❤🤍💙💛
When i saw this was on the schedule i thought the ladies will see the twist early as they are probably the most intelligent of all reactors i watch ... but i did not think she would get it so quickly ...
Actually Verbal said to Keaton that he needed Keaton to vouch for Verbal to be accepted into the crew to do the heist. Verbal wasn't trying to butter up Keaton. Also Verbal claimed to have a plan to successfully do the heist.
Even his name tells u who he is, and how could verbal know he was half German half Turkish? Soze in Turkish means gab talk interrupt VERBALIZE. Kaiser in German means emperor , king, God, leader, etc.
Verbal was the one who killed the rat guy. Kuyan said that Keyser Soze had to be the one to kill him because the rat guy knew him and what he looked like.
Kobayashi is Keyser Soze, not Verbal!! People, watch it again. So many reasons. Verbal is KS's assistant, not the other way around. So many clues: 1 - Who has a foreign accent? Why would a well known Brittish actor add a Hungarian tint to his accent? 2 - Look at the characters' ages, and who looks Hungarian? 3 - The person who could identify the real KS was killed on the boat. The survivor only identified the person sent to kill the rat. 4 - If KS's whole goal was to destroy the one person who could identify him, he failed completely as now law enforcement world-wide will have his likeness, but 5 - If KS is Kobayashi, he secceeded, because nobody knows what he looks like, and finally but most importantly ... 6 - We can assume that we saw the real events as they occured but verbal created new names for those persons law enforement didn't already have identified. We see what the fence in LA looks like but that doesn't match his name. Redfoot is Native American, but we can clearly observe that the man was not Native American. Similarly, the man Verbal needs to protect the most, the real Soze, is given a Japanese name gleaned from the bottom of a coffee mug. Anyone looking for a lawyer names Kobayashi will never get close to finding the actual identity of the man. And Verbal is never asked to describe the appearances of the people in his story (perhaps the biggest flaw in the film, as a savvy detective would certainly ask for this information during interogation). 7 - One more - From what we learn about KS, why would he go onto the boat himself? It's an absolute absurdity that he would so expose himself. In all likelihood, KS will kill Verbal soon after the final scene of the film (Having some very sereious leverage against a career criminal, perhapse promising to reward a loved one or perhaps just promising to kill him quickly and not torture him horribly first - look at Verbal pause with his cigarrette and take a deep breath before getting into the car at the end) and once again, there will be no evidence of his identity "and like that ... he's gone."
Kiser needed the guy on the boat dead along with all the others on the boat because they could identify him and wanted the group to help. Once that was done, the group had to die because they might identify him.
Y'all totally guessed at Kaiser, and got it lucky right! The guy verbal shot in the car, he didn't give up the case because he knew who verbal was, which is why he wouldn't turn it over, then verbal killed him....got rid of a known witness. Verbal set up the job, and proly threatened him to kill his family and relatives, if he didn't do that job. This is why at one point before he's shot, he looks at verbal!
you should look into the theory that "Kobayashi" is actually Soze, not Verbal. Soze would never put himself into a position that would allow him to be identified, on the other hand, everyone who could have identified Kobayashi is dead. Also, Kobayashi has an accent, not Verbal.
Of course he is. Movie buffs love the Verbal reveal, which is totally stupid. Readers of books realize KS is obviously Kobayashi. It's a no-brainer if you have actually developed one.
Great movie and reaction. One point I never understood, Keyser just wants to get rid of one man who knows who is. But on the other side he is so heavily involved in crimes scenes, criminals, policemen, generating more and more people who potentially could find out who is. He killed one eyewitness, but now there is one guy in the hospital plus the whole FBI who now exactly know what he looks like and so on. Was it really a win for him?
The robberies and the other guys were real, as was Kaiser, but then who said what to whom was all constructed. Seems like Kaiser used the crew to get to the guy on the ship then disposed of them all to tie things up. He probably chose Keaton because the police desperately wanted to get Keaton on something, so he knew he could fly under the radar as the petty crook who was just helping and the police would focus on Keaton and the others. Maybe also payback as some of these guys had stolen Kaiser's stolen stuff in the past. It would have been a long con on Keaton.
Y'all are gonna be thinking about this for days. Imagine tho that when this came out the internet was not a thing and there were thosands and thousands if converstations trying to figure it out.
Christopher McQuarrie wrote one hell of a screenplay for this classic. Also, before he got the keys to the Mission Impossible kingdom, he wrote and directed a SUPER underrated crime thriller called The Way of the Gun that I think you two would find pretty interesting.
Kevin Spacey was THE IT boy, of the 90s! In this same year he also did Se7en! Ironically this was the directors only second movie! His first one sucked and had no stars, but u could see his talent for camera work and story telling. One day at some Hollywood party thing, he runs into Kevin and tells him, I have this idea for a movie....and this was it! Kevin Pollock and Stephen Baldwin in real life, on set, hated each other. The lineup scene...why everyone laughing? Fenster was farting constantly! Fenster is the name of a cartoon gangster on bugs Bunny, and where the name and funny talking comes from. DelToro asked the director, since I have such a small part, can I play it any way I like? And if u don't like what I'm doing, I'll change it. So fenster was born!
VH ladies. Ryl, it's innocent before proven guilty, lol. Don't become that person. Oh, I looked at the other comments and no one says Virtual Hug. That's sad. Laters.
If I ever open up a Private Detective agency, I want Ryl as my partner. Too bad about Kuliyan..had the biggest criminal in the world in his hands and got B.S.'d...He;d have to keep it to himself if he didn't want to be the laughing stock of the Bureau.( Or denoted to desk duty even!) Great spin by Sosze, though..An MI6 spy couldn't tell a better story!
Yeah...so I believe Kaiser was real...all of the guya were real. Kaiser shot the guy in the head with his "good" hand, his right hand. Kaiser is left handed which can be seen when he kills Keaton.
Basically, stop telling them there's twists in movies, they'll stop looking up the twists beforehand... we get better reactions, they get to actually enjoy the movie... ego won't allow them to not look up the twist, because then it might catch them off-guard & they won't look "clever"... sad, but very predictable
This is the first time I've ever seen anyone figure out the story in advance.
Ryl and Jyn, you're the sharpest reactors on all of TH-cam!
Agreed they're stellar
Dawn Marie still holds the record for figuring it out.
Was there even a Keaton?????
@@philmakris8507I'll have to watch Dawn Marie's reaction to this, she always makes me smile😊.

You two should start your own detective agency. ❤ you guys.
Seriously. 😄
You've got good instincts but it must Hell watching a movie with you two.😂😂
Absolutely loved your L.A. Confidential reference! Almost as much as that movie itself ❤
For the love of God...Open up a Private Detective Agency. You two are SHARP as a razor. Seriously. ❤🔍🕵♀🕵♀

When you know your enemies but your enemies don’t know you, that’s power.
Even Gabriel Byrne aka Keaton was so convinced that he was K.S. that he got into a fight with the director during a screening.
Ryl, (I think it's Ryl), nails the ending in the first 2 minutes. Kudos and salutations.
It’s one thing to throw out a theory or even voice a gut instinct, but the real “aha!” moment for her was when Verbal/Keyser shot the guy in the van so cleanly. Up until that moment it was just a theory.
Yes, Ryl. She always gets it.
She's such an intelligent person
You are very sharp to call all that when you did. Two smart ladies!
42:25 I met an ex-cop once and asked him why he left the police. He explained exactly that mindset you describe here, and he said he just had grown suspicious of everyone and realized he didn't want to look at the world that way anymore, so he quit.
Awesome Movie. You ROCKED it. Great Reaction. Keep up the amazing work.
My Cousin was the Key Makeup Artist on this Film.
Ryl and Jyn you both are the smartest reactors on TH-cam. Yall figured out that it was Kevin Spacey in just a few mins of the movie. 😲 Great reaction!
Great movie! Chaz Palminteri, the guy that plays agent Dave Kujàn is in another great one called A Bronx Tale with Robert De Niro.
Not them clocking Kevin Spacey IMMEDIATELY. IKDR lol
That was bullshit. There was no reason to think that Keyser Soze wouldn't be shown at that point. Its obvious they knew beforehand. Their loss.
Ryl noticing it every time.
@@BennyBlancoNLYou’re such a loser 😂 so because you weren’t sharp enough to call it beforehand, they aren’t?
Virtual hug. I predicted Ryl would be onto this in no time at all lol. If I ever show up dead, I want her on the case!
I saw this movie when it came out. I remember being stunned by the revelations at the end. The 2 of you figured it out 5 minutes into the movie.
Yeah, they do that regularly... kinda suspect, really.
Fun fact: they are all laughing in the line up because one of them farted for real during filming
I’m so impressed. You figured it out!
Spacey wasn't completely evil in LA Confidential, he was only half-scummy in that one.
Kaiser did time with Keaton pretending to be Verbal. That's how they know each other. For the first time this reminds me of The Prestige.
Ryl is going to love this one
Love the connection y'all made to rollo tommasi
Good one, Ladies! Such a great movie. Thanks for sharing this one.
A great movie with Pete Postlewaite (Kobayashi) is "In the Name of the Father". I also recommend another movie by the same director called "Valkyrie".

1:50 Benicio del Toro kept farting during the scene, the laughter is real.
Benicio Del Toro knew his character died early, so he came up with the slurred accent just because he wanted to be remembered.
But haven't you already watched Scary Movie? I thought you had. (And so would have seen the major spoiler for TUS.)

If El Chapo was half German , you would have heard about it. Same with Soze.
Verbal was the one who killed the rat guy. Kuyan said that Keyser Soze had to be the one to kill him because the rat guy knew him and what he looked like.
The back story about Kaiser's family was real, because you could tell how he was emotionally upset when he told it.

Yep, you should see their squid games reaction to see how they can guess things properly

How has it taken me almost 30 years to notice that K.S. and K. S. share initials?! I wonder if that was meant to be a subtle clue?
No.

There is absolutely no evidence for that theory
The guy he shot in the car was prob 3 feet away .. even with shaky hands it's almost impossible to miss a guy that's not moving ....I know.
