I love Slash's guitar playing. As far as best? You might also want to look at Roy Clark and Glenn Campbell. They are from a different generation and genre. All of them are amazing.
He might not be technically the best but there are so many tunes that I can hear the first couple of notes of and know it’s Slash playing straight away. Jungle, Sweet Child, Paradise City the list goes on and on

That said, and I'll give you this, this clip may be just a small slice of what was, quite possibly a magnificent solo.
However, I've watched him, both live and on several longer, relatively recent, TH-cam clips where, quite frankly, he's just fucking faking it.
This clip does NOT reveal great tone, or GREAT phrasing, or come, REMOTELY, close to what he achieved as a younger man. Just saying.
❤️ the guy tho, and I don't believe we've necessarily seen the very best of him yet. Here's hoping for something truly great and defining from him in the very near future!
@@travzimmerman1340 Full disclosure : I'm playing an Eastman SB59v these days, in preference to the custom shop Gibson equivalent, only because, for me, given the instruments available in my area, it spoke to me! Damn me, if you will, but the Lollar Imperials are better pups and the neck carve, for me, is perfect.
