Can we all take a moment to appreciate the bass player and the drummer anchoring everything down like a pair of badasses while Slash went god mode on his final solo?
Yes almost everyone in this comment section talks about slash. As an artist, I can say Myles is better than Slash. Myles is also an incredible guitar player.
How Myles Kennedy, a great guitarist himself, end up being a vocalist of two bands with two great guitarist in Slash and Mark Tremonti is truly amazing.
It is really crazy but I guess maybe it helps that he completely understands the role of the lead guitarist and how to support them in their respective bands. I think that it takes a special kind of person to have the humility to let others take the limelight when you know that you have the same skillset. It shows a total lack of ego. Myles is pretty unique, I've never seen anyone with that level of talent who has absolutely no ego.

I think a lot of people don't realize, but one reason the solo section sounds so heavy is because there are TWO rhythm guitars (Myles picks up his guitar) playing different chords and groves throughout Slash's solo. The question now is: what could be the cause of the dilatation? Functional constipation is unlikely, given the normal thyroid function tests and serum electrolytes. Organic causes to consider include Hirschsprung disease, idiopathic megacolon, and colonic dysganglionosis. Man o man been a slash is by far my favorite guitarist I have seen this millions of times still blows me away with his unbelievable talent just makes it look so effortless he was made to play
That's exactly what happened to me. I'm still not the biggest fan of his GnR stuff but my god, this shows a genuine talent for blending the classical and the modern, perfectly structuring a song, creating interest, arranging for multiple instruments, using pedal points, inverted pedals and and pedal ostinatos and, of course, mind-blowing colourful solos that mix melody and shredding perfectly. And this is before you factor in the talent of Myles Kennedy. This song is the reason I respect Slash
@@samvimes2821 anyone who says "Slash just does the same basic pentatonic scales-anyone with 6 month's experience can do that" are just blindly hating. You don't have to be a fan to appreciate the skill and talent.
I watch this video everyday, Myles Kennedy has such a stage presence and has a very powerful voice. I love the fact he actually knows how to sing, in terms of breathing and protecting his voice, he’s so awesome and a very nice and genuine guy you can tell……also slash is killing it as always, that goes without saying though🤘🏾
I say the same thing, His voice is so strong and for doing night after night concerts his voice is always amazing. Then hey grab a guitar and play while I'm singing.. And I have my wake up list and this song is number 1 then a replay...
It's the reason Myles is just getting better and better rather than losing his ability to sing as he ages like Ozzy Osborne and Axl. Many rock vocalists start off being able to hit those high notes but after 10 years of gigs using a poor technique they shred their vocal chords and it's game over. Myles knows the importance of proper breath support and staying completely relaxed, he also studied Bel Canto, an operatic style with one of the world's best teachers (he also taught Chris Cornell.) The man really knows his stuff and understands the voice is another instrument in the same way as his guitar, he has studied what it can do and how to care for it. He's a music need in all aspects but he's so humble that he only really elaborates when directly questioned. You get a lot of rock singers who think that it's just all about passion amd energy and having a distinctive sound and, yes, that does factor into it but unless you train your yoice like Myles, you won't be able to sustain a career singing with that level of intensity, it's a lot of work to get to where he is even for someone with natural ability. Myles is now at a place where a lot of the things he does with his voice are almost done unconsciously, he's in the 'zone' and no longer having to think about it, like the way an athletes body just has muscle memory. When you consider he does this while playing the guitar so proficiently in his own band Alterbridge, he's a really impressive musician.
My god man. Fantastic vocals! And that solo...Slash looked like he was interrogating that guitar and beating it into submission. Wish I could have been there for that moment.
Wow this is an unbelievable evolution, flawless performance, amazing sound, speed and soul.slash is now one of the greatest guitar players of the world.
Not flawless. Not even close. But what Slash does that makes him great are his comebacks! He can recover from just about anything, and unless you are listening closely you forget about all of his fumbles and misses. It’s remarkable. Listen again.
Can i be a nerd and say that the speed of light isnt anywhere near the fastest thing in the universe, the speed of expansion of the universe is way faster. Ok have a good day
I have to admit, I didn’t pay much attention to the genius of Slash until I saw him on a recent tv commercial. I decided to check him out and am amazed at his talent! Whew! Where have you been all my life?!
Slash is the brain and the soul of Guns N' Roses. He is a great composer. When I heard this song, at the first time, I didn't expect that shredding. He is very versatile. There are guitarists like Slash and Marty Friedman who have a vibrato that is like a signature. You can recognize them even if they play in other bands.
When I first heard this track it absolutely rocked me. It is a masterpiece of composition. Slash is a freakish talent... those scales, he makes that guitar sing like a sitar even though it's not. Myles has just about the greatest voice out there, ever. Drums, bass, rhythm... these boys have it down. They work so well together, respect each other, no one is letting the side down. And it all comes together on this track. Epic, absolutely epic!
Slash is a first rate musician and composer, who always makes everything sound so right. And anyone doubting his guitar virtuosity needs to listen to this!
every one is talking about slah and Myles (Dont get me wrong, I loved them here) But if there is something that we have to appreciate here is brent's drumming, those fills, that speed, that feeling, and everything else is perfect. Just the best drummer that slash has worked with
That rhythm section is totally in the pocket. Just laying down a tight groove that gives Slash space to play all over and around it, without it getting in the way or making his timing changes sound out of place.
6:11 Myles is just vibing right behind Slash. 😂 Slash is such an amazing guitar player that when he plays his heart out like that, the other band members feed off it. It’s amazing.
Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators could, and should, just stay forever and tour every year for the rest of MY life. I would be happy. Most happy!
@@theslayerofgoblins849 he used to play 12 hours a day at 14 and has been playing it for 40 years. I'm sure you'll be very impressive if you put in that much effort.
I’m nowhere near being a musician of any sort but even I can appreciate the artistry in this, lucky us TH-cam exists to witness this whenever we please 🎸⚡️🎼
This is what happens when two great musicians come together from a place mutual respect and collaboration instead of ego. Slash's improvisations are phenomenal and full of feeling as well as being lightning fast. What can you you say about Myles Kennedy other than he is the greatest rock singer on the planet today. His vocals are captivating. Nice to see him playing some rhythm guitar here too. That's the only thing missing from SMKC, more Myles Kennedy guitar.
6:46 The best part of Slash is that he combines speed with feeling... some just have speed, others just have feeling... Slash has both.. this is like watching Van Gogh paint
Im born 86, started playing guitar in 95,, heard slash playing. That time we had cassette, just used to listen slash playing. Now I'm a guitarist in a band just inspired by slash. Thanks to TH-cam, I can see him now everyday
The people complaining about a dead crowd.... I felt myself unable to function or move during his solo while watching this on TH-cam, I could only imagine being there in real life. Honestly, those people are lucky to have gotten out of that concert alive.... if in fact they actually did.
I basically grew up on this song and I have so much love and respect for Slash. it's because of him I got into rock and later metal, it's because of him I started playing guitar and he basically made me fall in love with music

*HER* . Racist
That intro riff gives me chills everytime 👌🏻🤘🏻
One of the best solos I've heard in a while not gonna lie.
My god man. Fantastic vocals! And that solo...Slash looked like he was interrogating that guitar and beating it into submission. Wish I could have been there for that moment.
Love the close ups of Slash's finger work. This is one of my favorite songs of Slash and Myles. I'm glad they've collaborated together so well.
There are at least 3 comebacks I heard and they are barely noticeable but well recovered.
After Slash hit that A chord at 4:18, he played arguably the greatest improvised guitar piece of all time.
That's ridiculous. Of all time? Cmon. Stop
@@weircali I said what I said.

Jimmy Hendrix and Eric Clapton played piano

@@jamesmurphy3597 stfu hater. Slash is way better. he is a rock icon
I havent seen many Slash performances but i think this is the best ever *_*
Misiek You HAVE TO see him live. Best experience of my life
Watch some old gnr shows
I have to admit, I didn’t pay much attention to the genius of Slash until I saw him on a recent tv commercial. I decided to check him out and am amazed at his talent! Whew! Where have you been all my life?!

Am I the only one surprised by how good the camera guy?
Finally I can fking see what they are doing
Slash is the brain and the soul of Guns N' Roses.
He is a great composer. When I heard this song, at the first time, I didn't expect that shredding. He is very versatile. There are guitarists like Slash and Marty Friedman who have a vibrato that is like a signature. You can recognize them even if they play in other bands.
Axl and Izzy were the main songwriters in GNR so no, slash was not the brain and soul of GNR but he did play a big part
Izzy
Where was the shredding? I missed it. All I saw was some old rock star playing sloppy, simple leads.

Slash was my best man at my wedding and Myles Kennedy was in attendance. During the reception we played this song together. It was magic
Slash also was my best man, and we wrote this song together.
Slash also is my father and we wrote this together
When I first heard this track it absolutely rocked me. It is a masterpiece of composition. Slash is a freakish talent... those scales, he makes that guitar sing like a sitar even though it's not. Myles has just about the greatest voice out there, ever. Drums, bass, rhythm... these boys have it down. They work so well together, respect each other, no one is letting the side down. And it all comes together on this track. Epic, absolutely epic!
the improvisation solo slash did proves slash is the best and always will be the best guitarist, so much emotion, and he can shred pretty damn fast
Haaris Raja I agree slash is and will always be the best
Haaris Raja there is no best guitar player.
ive come to realise that hahah but i love slash hes my favourite
What about Jimmy page or Hendrix
Yeah, that's why he is amazing, he can put emotion in some pointless shredding
Slash is a first rate musician and composer, who always makes everything sound so right. And anyone doubting his guitar virtuosity needs to listen to this!
every one is talking about slah and Myles (Dont get me wrong, I loved them here) But if there is something that we have to appreciate here is brent's drumming, those fills, that speed, that feeling, and everything else is perfect. Just the best drummer that slash has worked with
That rhythm section is totally in the pocket. Just laying down a tight groove that gives Slash space to play all over and around it, without it getting in the way or making his timing changes sound out of place.
Finger Style,Shredding,Hammer on,pull off,Power chord,Tapping,Sweep picking,...On Guitar Slash...
You forgot Pinch harmonics, bending and alternate picking.
Tapping ?
@@lyldlcrz 4:27
Slash never use tapping and sweep picking in his solo i guess
@@mahabayu814 I was also amazed but he does it
6:11 Myles is just vibing right behind Slash. 😂 Slash is such an amazing guitar player that when he plays his heart out like that, the other band members feed off it. It’s amazing.

These guys are not from this planet, the unique expressions and epic music feel great.
it's been nine years and I still cry everytime I listen to this masterpiece...
Don't get me wrong I love slash a lot but he's definitely on the feel side of things, certain guitarists can play like 20 times as fast as he does lol
