At this point money under the mattress seems safer.

Let’s not forget the roofing scam going on. I’m get weekly door rings from these people despite my no solicitation sign😮. Most are from out of state and claim to help go through insurance or the government. They tried to get my elderly neighbor last week after I told them I was not interested in their “service”, and had I not walked over there, I just don’t know what would have happened. She had her entire roof replaced 5 years ago.

I think upon reaching social security people should have to take a scammer course, most of the people that are scammed are sadly the elderly.

It's elderly people, People that just got out of prison and even young ones are the most vulnerable. People that have got a prison in that are on their dark web more frequently because of that they are very much vulnerable. Young ones because they are starting their life they are vulnerable as well. And yes elderly people as well are vulnerable. It is so sad that these crooked sick twisted people will go to this extent to do this upon people

We are in a different state but about 2 weeks ago we got a text "from" a well known bank telling us they had discovered a long over looked account and to click on the link provided to verify our data and free up the funds. The first problem- Noone in the house hold has ever had an account at that bank. The second, we never use the link or the phone number provided on thks type of thing; rather we call the business or banking institution directly frima number we have or dig up.
Then a couple of days ago, we received a phone call with the caller ID of a banking institution we do use. We were late to fumble to the phone and the call had terminatead. First problem- The area code was correct but the prefix was u familiar. Again we did not use the number provided but rather used the number on the back of our cards to call the banking institution. The number that called us was not among thier vast network of phone numbers in the area or outside of it.
