- I'm jamming with a semi random setup using the Bastl 1983 and the Synthstrom Deluge.
I explain how I have everything connected and then go on to jam for a bit.
If you're only here for the music got to around 4:00
Just lovely, both the talk as well as the jam.
Thank you!
delicious tasty and wonderful - what a pleasure experience
Thank you!
Serene jam 🎧😌✨✨
Very good video thanks a lot!
Thanks! My pleasure!
Are you using both the MIDI out and CV out from the deluge simultaneously?
No, just MIDI since everything is going through the 1983. But I'm using the analogue clock in of the deluge to synch it to the modular.
I liked this piece most in the early part when the sounds were coming in arrhythmic bursts and I liked what you did to tame that randomness and have a control over it. Somehow the percussive texture you introduced seemed irrelevant and came only to scar the gentleness of the piece. I have an interest in early computer music experiments which often suffered condemnation from audiences when angular and harsh elements disrupted what was often a quite delicate structure and you're getting into a similar kind of groove here by using formal mathematical elements and probabilities manipulating simple tones. I like the attempt to apply probability in Ableton, in Maschine and even in my Drumbrute but I don't have a mathematical mind at all, so to me it is just another variable and my head hurts if I try to think about it too hard.😅
Good point, I can totally see how I could have easily left out the rhythm parts altogether or at least tried to have them even looser. Could have led to a more cohesive result. I really do like noisy textures a lot especially when they're set against more graceful elements. I guess it's just closer to how I see the world. When something nice goes on for too long uninterrupted it somehow start to feel off😅
Both of these perspectives are great! I love the combo, definitely a fun glitchy and busy vibe, but controlled and cohesive!
