That’s the thing. If we saw Frenchie’s past, it could look horrible. This tv series allows redemption arcs, it’s a matter of framing the narrative. He was bullying as a result of being egotistical, toxic and hedonistic, but at no time was he shown to be a sadist and he was only cynical after his team sold him out. He’s not *that* bad for the show, where most supes are total goons or psychos.

Soldier Boy is excatly what Erskine was afraid of making the super soldier serum. That a perfect soldier would get all the power, who is morally grey. It doesn't mean that he is a bad person, but not a good one either.
