    Quite unique in that it seems to change character so drastically between patches

    What a glorious synth!!

    Appreciate the run through Starsky; some lovely and varied tones in there. Should have been released with more mature firmware though. Hopefully Supercritcal are sufficiently funded for Redshift 6 to reach its potential.

    I think this is the only G.A.S I’ll have this year. It’s so unique

    It's so versatile, One minute it sounds analog warm and then next patch it's digital cold. I would love to see a 12 voice version in the future.

    certainly has a great sound
    i think this one has to be a wait for the full features to be out for me though personally, i think retailers should be making it clear what isn't available yet too.. i would have had no idea a lot of things are not working yet if I hadn't watched your videos because the product pages list everything like they are going to be working on arrival

    This sounds really good. I think it is time for my Take5 to make room for this one.

    Do you made some presets as well? Would love to hear them. I probably will purchase this one. It offers so much variety, a must have for me because I do not have a analog synth yet, and this seems the perfect entry into the analog world, especially when checking the price.

    lovely sounds! Is it too much menu diving?

    • @StarskyCarr
      @StarskyCarr  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      No, it’s no more than 1 push to enter the osc, filt, amp etc settings. There’s no menu diving.

    Maybe it's just me or I am missing something here, but from what I heard so far it sounds very Vanilla.
    I mean that timbre-wise.
    yes it definitely sounds rich, "phat" and with impressive quality sound characters, but not very different from many other VA instruments, vsts or even other Analogue synths.
    I would say that it will be absolutely PERFECT for someone with almost no instruments, virtual or hardware, to get this swiss-army-knife of analogue bread and butter timbres plus digitally controlled precision - I absolutely get that it can be a workhorse.
    And yet for people with a considerable collection of synths, I don't see how this can substantially be significant.
    I understand that it's not complete and there are more engines and fx to come etc., but for now it sounds like 6 different characters without a defined character of its own.

      Sounds like a Roland rompler keyboard to me.

      I wonder if it's the DCOs - it doesn't sound very analoguey to me. Clean but lacking heft.

    • @audiosuy
      @audiosuy 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree
      I wanted to love this one for its features but I didn't... it's a great idea but the results aren't as good as the hype
      It sounds good and is a good synth for the price but it's not that great

      I feel the same. I will wait for new features and another sounds development.

      I think you may be reading too much into these sound examples. If anything, this is one of the least specialized synths in terms of character.
      What we’re hearing is mostly the sound designer's taste and it sounds like they’re into house/club trance.
      I agree the demos aren’t great but I find it interesting, almost compelling to have the chance to do something different with it.

    Now, if only Sequential Inc. would create a module like this out of both the Take 5 and TEO-5. I admit they are welcome packet on their own, even for keyboard synthesizers, but what is so funny about the idea of turning them into table top units?

    • @TheGuacamoleXplosion
      @TheGuacamoleXplosion 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Me, on the other side, would wish for a 3 octave full-size keyboard version of the Redshift 6 (w/ aftertouch, of course) 😎

    • @xfghffhfg
      @xfghffhfg 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I guess people want a keyboard for some strange reason :)
      I don't know how to play, so I have no use for more than one controller. It used to be (like DSI) desktop first, then keyboards

    hi, do you know if it will be possible to get a Sub OSC in there ( like alphaJuno)? Any idea if they have mentioned that? I presume it was built without that ability?

    • @StarskyCarr
      @StarskyCarr  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It may come in a new synth engine. But it’s not in this one. There are plans for more.

    • @StarskyCarr
      @StarskyCarr  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Having said that, the alpha Juno only has a single oscillator plus sub, so you could use the second one on this as the sub by defining an octave or 2

    How many presets does it contain or rather how many eventually would it contain ?

    • @StarskyCarr

      Thats all there is for now, I'm adding some of my own, but I'm not sure what the maximum is.

    Sounds pretty nice, though it's not really screaming 'buy me' as I'm not hearing anything I can't do on any of my existing gear. Hat tip for the form factor and UI though 🙂

    Is the used Reverb out of the Red Shift Synth or is it a external Reverb?

    • @StarskyCarr
      @StarskyCarr  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Its external as the redshift FX haven't been implemented yet.

  • @tolfred

    It sounds very good! How does it compare to the GS E7 if you've tried that one?

    • @StarskyCarr
      @StarskyCarr  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Ah ha… that’s next on my list! I would say the E7 is a completely different prospect. It’s definitely its own thing… much more of a vintage style approach. The choices are between almost knob per function and associated vintage style limitations vs a more versatile modern interface. Sonically it’s subjective. But I wouldn’t be unhappy with either.

      @@Mentor5176definitely. Waldorf get loads from the pulse - still clever though. Analog circuitry controlled by super fast digital signals … well beyond my understanding.
