Actually it is the nervous system that is in fight or flight mode. Calming it down even when induced from loud sound is the solution and healthy living
I've been having trouble with it myself. Had it since I was a kid but never bothered, thought it was normal. But recently since last year it's been annoying as hell. I feel like I have multiple kinds of tinnitus. Constant low ringing nothing to bother, waves going up and down like the sea, bombs where I randomly go deaf and loud ringing that vanishes over a few seconds and one like a flickering light bulb. Also sometimes it just flares up as if to remind me YOU HAVE TINNITUS! I can't work many times cause it's so annoying. I lack the hearing loss and have excellent hearing, but most likely because of the tinnitus I now have sensitive hearing like a class mate did. Going outside is now a bother since I live in the middle of the city right next to the busy long road and a bridge where cars constantly go. It's so annoying and I wish most could just stop using that stupid car and just take a bike. It's not that far around here it's central! And now recently i've felt like I have to take my headphones off to get out some pressure and constantly swallow or make a yawn effect to relieve pressure constantly.
Sounds like you have hyperacusis. I got mine 2 months ago but still haven’t checked myself since I’m waiting till January for health insurance. Hyperacusis is sound sensitivity where sounds from before are now louder and uncomfortable. It’s a rare condition as many doctors don’t know about it. Another symptom of it is unfortunately tinnitus sometimes.
I live in Seattle. I'm suffering from this. It's constant and high pitched. I've had it for about a month now. I need help. Is there anyone that can help me?
Some of these tips may help, but the most important is to avoid silence. www.soundrelief.com/tinnitus-self-help-remedies/
