my grandparents (my moms side) and their relatives lived in Cambodia; then they moved to Vietnam. So they all knew how to make this soup. I grew up having this for breakfast before heading to school.
My mom still makes this often, but, of course we cannot find all the ingredients and veggies like it’s shown here. It’s still so tasty. I appreciate it every time my mom makes it. Now I’m craving for it

this is similar to the Lao/Thai noodle soup called khao bun or khanom jin. banana flowers are common but not the other flowers. I want to try khmer style, I have never eaten it before. looks delicious

Wow! The red paste looks a lot like Indonesian chilli sambal while the gravy looks similar the creamy coconut stew called Gulai here in Indonesia.
