I wouldn't suggest soaking them, it tend to weaken the glue. While they are still wet after washing them, put maizena (corn flour) on them and place some toilet paper on the wet maizena (the toilet paper absorbs any leftover detergent, so no yellow marks). When it's dry, remove tissue, take an old soft toothbrush and brush the maizena off. (to wash I recommend green sunlight soap bar)

Just get a bottle of white canvas cleaning with sponge applicator... 10 mins and they'll be back on your feet... brilliant..xx
