    At least for a generally younger audience, this is what LEGO should be. Kids should be able to make their creations however they want, and the customizable features in this set really allows them to achieve that. Ok I probably thought too deep into this.

      @dgray3771 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      Think your thoughts are fine on this. I believe the set has potential like JANG said. But to me that would be if they make 2 or 3 more sets in this subtheme. Have a car with maybe 1 or 2 design pieces front/back. Or just 1 with an additional engine for let's say 15 euros. I think they kinda fumbled with it since they gave us that electric sports/city car with the charger. If that car was designed to have the front and rear altered that would really have made this set sell more. Since it would then become its own subtheme.

    I would've loved this set as a kid, making my own custom attachments with spare pieces to mix and match between the cars. It really invites you to be creative and customize on your own.

  • @UtinniUtinni
    @UtinniUtinni ปีที่แล้ว +70

    I think the pieces that are printed are meant to be touched and moved a lot and testing (or just logic) says that the repeated use of sticker parts will make the sticker peal off pretty quick. Especially for certain parts.

    As a car person, this set seems insanely cool. It's super super neat they paid homage to the bosozoku subculture of car modification.

    This would be so cool with one of the space theme sets. Imagine the space garage and two small one person ships with interchangeable and customizable bits for the fronts, backs and sides of the ship. Short wings, long wings, stretched back with robot compartment or short back with bigger engine outtakes. This is a really great system. I am right there with you that they should expand on this a few more times with varying sets. I hope it takes off with kids so they do more with it.

    Looks genuinely fun to play with.
    As an adult lego fan I tend to get caught up in more of a 'model making' kind of mindset.
    This set is a good reminder to play around too.

    Amazingly good set I would have absolutely loved when first collecting Lego. Liked the layout of the car garage a couple of years back as it also had a tow truck, but the effort into the customizability and detail of each car as well as actual individual prints are very impressive. As good as the 8 wide series of Speed Champions cars are I still kinda miss the diorama displays similar to this in the larger sets which really added to the display value.

    If we were in 2010 or 2011 I could easily see this being a ModNation Racers set, or as mentioned in the reveals video, a Lego Universe racing tie-in.
    Either way this is a stand-out set for City with a great concept and execution for its target age range.

  • @warhead5225
    @warhead5225 ปีที่แล้ว

    I remember when I was younger I was especially into making custom Lego cars. This was mid to late 2000s so there wasn’t a whole lot of selection and the 2 seater chassis piece was mainly used for trucks. 9/10 cars released then only allowed room for one fig. I remember watching videos on TH-cam looking up how to build the coolest custom looking cars. Just like with everything else now, there’s been a huge step up since that time. These speed champions cars are exactly what I’m talking about. 2 seater chassis with 15+ years of newer piece molds to build around it and not only make it look like the car, but it’s also finished too with minimal studs. But then there’s this, which allows for the younger crowd, the crowd I was once apart of, to really customize to their hearts content. As a kid, I would’ve been begging my parents for this

    Has a very cyberpunk-esque feel to it. Pretty cool. Price is a tad bit steep but not as high as I figured it would be. Usually city sets of this size (400-1000ish pieces) in Canada are priced at around 20c per piece, but this is at around 15-16c per piece

    What kinda amazes me on a sidenote with Jang, is that he's not only super knowledgeable with lego, but in kinda all the fields that lego encompasses. From cars, to car parts, to car events, to boats, to space exploration ships, launchers, to star wars, to all the lego subthemes, he knows it all, lego and real life versions. A truly curious mind ! Which makes the reviews all the more entertaining.

    Pretty nice set. I've never thought I'd see so many printed pieces on a City set. I liked this new wheelchair piece. The car customization is a nice feature, although some of the custom parts make them look like more Cyberpunk than something we'd see on Fast & Furious.
    For sure I'll combine this one with the previous custom car garage...

    Yeah this is one of the best ideas for a set Lego has come up with. There are a total of 16 official combinations (not including changing out the engines for kids to arrange these cars once the set is completely assembled, that is really good. Even though the color scheme is kinda wacky, there are really only 3 distinct colors that also all kind of go together. This is just good toy design.

    "blueprints" all printed
    ?maybe the logic is, that since they're all meant to line up to create a picture, yet individually are somewhat indistinct; Lego doesn't want to have kids get confused and apply them upside down and so on....

    This is such a great structured open ended building idea. I find my son is a lot better at being creative when there’s a goal built right in with the toy.
    Also to the people complaining it doesn’t come with a full building structure.
    1. It’s Lego, build your own building if you want to.
    2. Do you want it to be a $200 set for it to house the entire contents of the garage?
    Honestly I might need to pick this up even before it goes on sale.
