Just watched Patlabor today and its honestly one of the best looking films I've ever seen. I never imagined a 31 year old anime movie would look incredible in 1080p.
I'm glad you enjoyed
not sure if you have yet but might want to check out jin roh wolf brigade it came out towards the end of the hand drawn era(2000ish) its slow and can be confusing but omg visually there's nothing like it.
Try Akira now!
Looks cyberpunk and militaristic af, love these old titles tbh
Check the Patlabor OVA and movies. Just not the third movie, it's trash and was made by different people.
Movie one is more of classic action movie, while second one was more of introspective look on one of characters in the series and also critiqued situation with JSDF and their relations with UN at the time. Still, both movies have stellar animation and their stories are pretty good.
thats mecha genre not cyberpunk
@MadMatt funny i watched both as a kid and I still stand my point. there's a difference.
The funny thing is that the movies were a huge tonal shift from the series it's based on, which is basically just Police Academy with mechs. In fact, the big guy with the anti material rifle and the short, angry guy driving the mech with the shotgun are directly based on Hightower and Tackleberry.
idk who is running this amazing page but they have awesome taste in anime
Looks 80’s style if I’m correct I may be wrong, but yeah the this kind of taste is great. Reminders me of Akira.
You do know he's just stealing people stuff right? Including all the animations
muscleddude // Artists message him via E-Mail or Discord to get featured on his channel. If they don't ask, he puts it up after asking for permission. It would be stealing if he wouldn't have any disclaimers saying it's not his, thus having no reference to the original artist. If you want to hate, go somewhere else, because it's not good for your health to be messing with us Retrowavers ;)
muscleddude // And oh yeah i almost forgot to mention that even if he doesn't ask for permission, it's his own decision to take the risk, cause he can get copyrighted if he doesn't ask. Most artists are flattered/happy that they are being promoted by a bigger channel than themselves, so yeah there's that. GG on trying tho bro.

Specifically Patlabor, I recognized the mechsuits.
Patlabor needs a new series. It deserves the same attention as Gundam and Ghost in the Shell. :D
And all the tropes we take for granted these days.
Dragon Pilot made me think of Patlabor so much.
popularity dictates everything.
There IS a new show in the pipeline right now called Patlabor EZY that was announced back in 2015. There's very little news about it, but I believe it's planned to be released this decade.
@@spaceresident331 I had no idea, thanks for the info. Here’s hoping.
@@GarGhuul Indeed! News is sparse. Hopefully we'll see more stuff in the near future.
"You said you would avoid combat!
And we did, as much as possible"
One of my favorite lines.
What movie is that line from? Thanks
@@rotyler2177 Patlabor, the first one
@@joaolimao9381 thanks!
i watched Patlabor movies hundred of times when i was young... still watch em sometimes
This movie is amazing. Set in alternative timeline, it's more of detective story despite of what you see here. I absolutely loved slower moments with two investigators searching for clues.
Maybe check out the TV series too!
i watched this anime ..but for me is pretty boring
i watched it because of wamdue project-you are reason
Jin Roh is like that too. The movie is mostly a drama, but many AMVs feature the action scenes.
Older animes look so much better I swear
without shadow of doubt.
It's because older animation teams used to work tons of hours into movies and also trying their best at making the most fluid and beautiful animation possible due to their budgets (altough it wasn't always because of that).
Im not sure about what im going to say now, but maybe it was a way of win the other animation industries like american and european cartoons or movies.
Yeah......... What the hell happened?
@@Kps117A So is the fight from Kizumonogatari III in the stadium. It's violent, gory and funny, all at the same time.
My issue is the overused high school students theme in todays anime. But we do have some good looking animes nowadays.
Carpenter Brut
Avetarx yep.
Carpenter Brut is a hero of modern music
Bruh since yt added translations, "brut" is translated to "gross" lmao
Aww yeah Patlabor getting some love. Might just be my favourite franchise.
You do know 80's Guy is just stealing people stuff right? Including all the animations
, search on google for "80's flashy", click on Tools, and then click on Animated
You do know hes putting time and effort into editing an AMV right? you know what that is? its a *fan made* music video usually using music and scenes they don't own. none of his videos are monitized btw.
it is perfectly acceptable as long as he doesn't claim to own any content he doesn't which, of course he doesn't do that. he provides us week after week with AMV's that we enjoy watching, sits for hours putting it all together. why? because its awesome.
so fuck you if you wanna shit on that.
Carpenter Brut makes the best music for anime!
Your AMVs and the way they blend with every track you sync them to are superb. Looking forward to seeing more in the future!
😊x❤
Your the reason I find good anime to watch and also listen to your stuff high in the vibe man ! As a Japanese in cold waters collecting clams once said “NEVER GIVE UP!!!”
One of the best AMVs out there: The combination of Oshii's work and the relentlessly thriving beat perfectly mirrors the newly-found "will-to-live" of the Machine.
Ah Patlabor, the finest anime movies ever made, even the third was amazing and that was more of a thriller.
BANGER CONFIRMED 💣 💥 💪🏾 💥💣💪🏾💪🏾💯💯
For those curious, footage is from Patlabor.
80's anime and carpenter brut, what lit combination
This is hands down my favorite youtube channel. These anime music videos are off the chain badass always! so grateful, always upvote!
Kickass!
Dimi Kaye fuck yeah that's why I hit the thumbs up on this video !
this intro is SICK
Incredible track. Gonna check out more from Carpenter Brut, this is dirty af
I know, Carpenter Brut is crazy good
This could be the soundtrack for a Streets of Rage level and it would be a sick fighting tune. I can see the combo counter multiplying already haha
That Excellent AMV my friends. That Music and that Scenes. Thanks.
Patlabor, fantastic anime, always enjoyed the stories.
Great.... Now I NEED to watch Patlabor.
That track is exceptional.
OMG....
PATLABOR!!!!
so much time ...
my fav Carpenter Brut tune so far
Great video. Adding to the 3D TRIP VR playlist on YT and the FB group. Cheerz
This is amazing!!
Man, it's unbelieveable. This music fits any anime action (But on horror is way Better!).
Perfect beat!
Dragisa Milakovic fuck yeah you read my mind !
Holy shit! "Patlabor" I remember that! I mean...it was one of the staples shortly after anime took off. I just wish I had saw it. But I remember the name. Back then you just had to know someone who had anime. Shit was rare. Some of the video stores had anime, 2 or 3 flicks. Or you could order shit special order; expensive. And the tune works well with it. Splendid AMV here.
Does Netflix have this...?
I was very fortunate as a young scrote in the early 90s - I had a good rapport with a local corner shop whose owner was of ...questionable moral integrity as he allowed me a then 9-10yr old to rent out anything from his vault of VHS's - i mean this guy had so many VHS's that he had no room in his little store to house it all. he had to resort to stack them all in boxes with just the cover in a laminate sheet stored like comic single issues. He had every mothefucking anime ever. it was glorious. Fist of the North star, crying freeman, project ako, guyver. appleseed, wicked city, ninja scroll, urotsukidoji, gunsmith cats, cyber city oedo 808, akira, wings of honneamise. There was no internet back then - you couldn't research stuff. no one i knew was into this and i felt great sneaking off all the time watching this weird ass shit i knew none of my peers would appreciate. so i kept it pretty much to myself - ah twas good times.
Please don't pirate Patlabor, the franchise is starting to be revived and could really use some support from overseas. Basically all of it is available legally now except for the light novels and some manga.
_You're absolutely right, I'll delete the link right now._
Check Nyaa for it.
Очень приятная рисовка. Такого больше не делают...
There's wonderful little-known mysteries in this world
and then there's the electric guitar in this song
Feels good lots of energy.

Wow...sick!
I loved the patlabor the Stars network did in the early 2000's, it sounded so much better then the later versions released.
I have seen only 10 sec and I already like it
Thank specially for the music.
Huh.
I'm gonna go watch Patlabor now.
There was the real soul in this art
good effort to promoto good arts, which is an art itself.
He's not really promating, he's stealing. Including all the animations
, search on google for "80's flashy", click on Tools, and then click on Animated, their ya go
PatLabor ❤
懐かしい…初めて買ったAV(アニメビデオ)だった
Patlabor makes mecha anime always look good... funny how the serries is a comedy but the movies are serrious AF
I want to see a Gundam to that POWER SLIDE HOMERUN that Oto does😎
Very good
Dejan Vojinovic that's why I hit the thumbs up.
Thanks for reply
Dejan Vojinovic your welcome.
I loved
Been on the back burner for many years. SMH orz
It consist out of two continuities.
1. Early Days -> Movie 1 -> Movie 2 -> Movie 3
2. Patlabor TV -> New files
Amazing track and what a super cool looking anime. Around 3:41 now I see where the creator of Metal Gear Solid, Hideo Kojima, got a LOT of inspiration from for Grey Fox the Ninja 😃😄😊
This makes me long for a new Armored Core game. Carpenter Brut is a good match for Mecha themes.
Yes! Resurrect Patlabor! Classic series 😎👍
Cool man 😎
Fantastic 👌
*titans striding forward, ordinati by the score...*
Super, merci !
perfect
Oh Alphonse!♥ I remember you whit love. Old anime Is the Best.
Wow !
clicked on this cause I saw Carpenter Brut, then I saw the anime. Was not disapointed.
Amazing!!!!
Patlabor babeyyy
I don't understand why the song starts off strong and stays that way until 0:22, where it just shifts gears entirely and basically becomes a different song.
Electric. Energy.
The Best song!
This song is lit
just put into perspective how massive that spas-12 would be XD
Lee Harpin shiiiet would be maybe the size of a car
Ye, no fancy laser guns but just 1000 times bigger regular guns.
@@Happojee ikr, and the skinniest armed character casually rapid firing a .44 automag cause of course
It's definitely big but it smaller if compared to shotgun used by MS-18E Kampfer
Goddamn the amount of ammunition they used. Woooyeaaahhhh
I loves me some Patrol Labor!!!!
Patlabor rocks
Nice
Good
ikagura more than good dope.
Merci ! Vous assurez 😍
Patlabor looks incredible but I swear to god I'm so tired of explaining to people who don't watch very much anime, new or old, or know anything about anime history, why stuff from the 1980s looks better than most stuff today. Its not because animators "worked harder or cared more" (I dare you to find a profession full of more passionate workaholics than animation in general at any time period) and it certainly isn't because there was no fanservice, moe, or isekai (all of these existed, if you are pedantic you might not say moe, but obviously cute girls in anime existed). Its because Japan was in the middle of a massive economic boom, which happened to coincide with the genesis of home video and VHS, leading to a huge amount of money to make anime OVAs and films that allowed even smaller studios like Gainax and Deen to pay a lot of money to a ton of animators to make extremely high quality films and miniseries because large numbers of people had the money and willingness to rent VHS episodes separately when they came out for really high prices. You could find this out if you did literally two seconds of research.
really good 👍
Is that a mecha with a pistol grip pump. You have my attention.
Hell yeah!
HHHAAAAAAA PATLABOR, MY CHILDHOOD!!!!
Thefeeling, god dammit.
Patlabor!!!
