Ninja Scroll! Such an old anime. I remember my dad leaving it in the VHS player when I was very young (Back in early 90's) and watched it, loving every single bit of it (Apart from the sex scenes..I had no idea what the fuck was even going on)

This is one anime where the protagonist doesn't win with the power of friendship. What i find amazing about this anime is that everyone is using weapons and they get crazy with them but then you see the main villain, Himuro Gemma. He is very big and looks strong, you think he will pull out a canon that shots shuriken or a sword with 4 blades, something crazy. But nope....he just straight up runs to the guy with the sword and beats him like it's UFC:)) on the sound of the drums:) 2:15
Here's the mind blower; Gemma wasn't dead at the end. His main super-ability is he cannot die no matter what, earlier in the story he gets his head blown off by a cannon and he's alive again just a few MINUTES later.
Well, he got crazy with his fists, I guess.
Well.. he does have like..a robo arm or some shit so idk
what I love in this movie is that the hero wins and survive with actual real tricks that could have worked if that universe was a reality....like he didn't just win because he is the hero of the story....like when he throws the shuriken in the eye of the rock guy don't remember his name....its so sick and you don't expect it.
I guess the most badass fact of all of this, its the hero didnt actually won the fight, and the villain ended being drowned in fucking gold forever in the ocean, unable to die.

It's not really that simple, it's the anime fans in Japan that the true problem lies. Alot of people outside of Japan pirated these old animes, but even if the anime was successful outside of Japan if it doesn't sell well in Japan it won't get continued as often compared to an anime that was successful only in Japan sadly

Obviously there's a larger cult demanding for manime now then there was a few years ago, but those "kawaii" animes that are popular in Japan is one of the main reasons why these animes have died. Not only that but these "kawaii" animes are easier and cheaper to make

Yeah, 90's anime still rocks! Except Berserk - it had too many awkward freeze frames and very little animations. Really, when they show you highly graphic top-down static picture and not-so-gory animation style (yet somewhat nice), you think:"What the hell? I'd better read manga while listening OST!"

There is still good stuff but visually, nothing will ever beat hand drawn in my opinion, redline was hand drawn and it's one of the best looking if not the best looking anime I've ever seen, even if the story is good because of the visuals it won't be better in my opinion ( doesn't mean it sucks it's just missing something that would ascend it into perfectness).

The whole movie was awesome, but the last fight was above the other fights. Why ? Because it did something you don't see much when it come to anime fights. It's slow. Brutal. Each blow is separated from the next one by enough time to let you feel the strength and the hate of each fighter.

Actually white goo is much more realistic. You can throw up a some of your stomach contents, mixed with saliva. Blood is... Highly unlikely.
The blood is supposed to symbolize the fact of how badly they’re being hit. Hard enough to make them actually spit up blood. It’s u likely because no one has really been in such pin before. To me it adds the element of true injury. The spit in DB just makes it feel less damaging.
I always assumes the blood came from them biting their tongues accidentally because of the pain

@@neonpop80 Don't worry, there is no flaw here. Gemma didn't have "metal arm", it was just steel protector. He had no armor at inner side so it was possible to cut his arm.

They tried giving anime balls again back when they made Deadman Wonderland, but people weren't into it anymore at the time. We had a dark age or fluffy, kid friendly crap that gave people the wrong idea about anime, and only once people actually started watching, they wanted the balls back. People can complain about Chainsaw Man all they want. It's not perfect, but, it has balls.

God I love Gemma's character design. He's so badass and intimidating even though, power wise he's the weakest of the lot. Even Jubei has that long range sword slice, Gemma isn't even invulnerable, he just won't die. Sounds powerful but it's useless if you get chopped up, and all Gemma has is an armored arm and really good kung fu.
