      No sdcard = another failure. The rest is fine but irreverent since this would be THE hacker phone and also with that camera, storage expansion and flexibility will be a serious issue. Why companies keep failing otherwise amazing hardware?!

      Hey man. I do appreciate your videos backup up with a lot of research. But can i ask a favor? Can you make a look back video of the apple a7 chip? How does it stand today? But it's still only available for a few more hours, and I pressed "Claim", hoping it would give me a link to share, but it didn't so now it thinks I want to buy it again haha.. Even tho I already have one, so now I don't know how to un-claim it, or how to solve it.. Otherwise I would have given it to you, I'll get new ones again later on tho

      Bachir El Charif I have got a one plus three and I think they won't make it more expensive the company always ask the perfect price for their products. I find one plus better than samsung because it is made in such of large quantities that is not based on individuality, despite from that it is too expensive. The series of Samsung remain the same and indeed it has new features but will you eventually use them?

    I've been using it for over a year and I it has been beyond great. I have dropped it 2 to 3 times, got a little rough around the edges but still no scratch on the display. I have not bought a single accessory for this phone till date. The charger that came with this is really in demand in my house as it is super fast compared to other android chargers. I guess I will never know what it is to own a costly "flagship" phone but I'm not complaining.

  • @S7EVE_P
    @S7EVE_P 10 ปีที่แล้ว +21

    Actually it's all about a company called BBK electronics who own both OnePlus and Oppo. The real price starts at $400 (and you can buy it now direct from Oppo), but OnePlus are selling it at $300 for one reason and one reason only: Publicity. If you imagine how many people are posting, sharing, entering comps and talking about it in return for a *chance* to win an invite, it's bloody cheap publicity!

    • @rich1051414
      @rich1051414 10 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Correct. The business model is to pay the owners the publicity costs, by making it cheap. It is actually really smart.

    First of all, *love* your videos. You put so much thought into the music and ambiance, I really enjoy watching them!
    Second, being a tech savvy person, I am thrilled with the way One+ is operating. Considering your last comment regarding the appeal of the phone to different demographics, I would say that oppo is tailored to the "non-tech-savvy" community and Pete created the One+as a techies dream. I appreciate his approach and philosophy of the creation of One+ and I am excited to see when the carpet is rolled out for this(I am sure the list of technical features will be made to please)
    Thirdly, that device is absolutely sleek and gorgeous. Thanks for bringing me up to date, ColdFustion!

    To be honest I wouldn't even swap my two year old Galaxy S3 for the OnePlus One. The S3's display is still one of the best out there, I can and do change the battery, I have an SD card slot and despite what people say I love the design of my S3. It has a slim bezel even compared to the newest phones, it's still very thin and light and the display size is perfect. It also runs android 4.3 and not 4.4 which doesn't let third party apps access the external storage anymore! (Dick move google) So just saying, I still prefer my S3 over this.

    • @Samuel-jo8im
      @Samuel-jo8im 10 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      Why the fuck do you think that s3 has one of the best displays out? It has the shittiest software i have ever seen. You can change batery on evry phone if you know how. And also if you are angry about android you can change it on evry phone.

    • @mysti_fay
      @mysti_fay 10 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      ***** Oh so my argument about the battery is invalid because you can change the battery but _you_ make an argument about the software which is about the easiest thing to change on any phone? Yeah fuck logic right? :)
      Also you can not easily change the battery on say a HTC one on the go unless you have a shitload of tools with you whereas on the GS3 I can pop off the back cover and I'm good to go.
      Btw many tests have proven the S3's display to be good and it's even more accurate than the newer iPhone's displays.

    • @teenlabotamy
      @teenlabotamy 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I agree about the s3 having a spectacular design but we're in the minority here :( ....It's literally SO much easier to use in one hand than the S4 despite the 4 supposedly having smaller dimensions due to the S3 being more curved. It feels much more solid than the S4 too. But I gotta disagree with you on the display because that's the one area where I feel the S4 blows it away. Just my 2 cents :)

    • @mysti_fay
      @mysti_fay 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      teenlabotamy oh no I know that the S4 has a better display, I just said that the S3's is _one of_ the best out there, and it was the best when it came out :)

    • @mysti_fay
      @mysti_fay 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ***** you know that the human eye cannot distinguish between displays over a certain dpi value... and I can't see pixels on my phone and everything is very sharp so obviously the dpi value is high enough. A higher value would only drain the battery and not improve the quality so what's the point? And you know, dpi isn't everything in a display, you also gotta consider the saturation, colors and brightness. The S3's lacks in none of these so how is it bad again?

    Not so cheap for Canadians. It's around 500 bucks for the 64GB to at your door. They charge you 28 bucks for "express" shipping with fucking DHL (shit courier service), yet it still takes like a week for you to get it. PayPal fucks you over even more with the already unfavorable exchange rate. The import tax is a bitch. It all adds up.

    • @raysunqi
      @raysunqi 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Everything is slow in Canada and everything is expensive comparing to the US, your statement seems unrelated to the phone itself

    • @MrBsmable
      @MrBsmable 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      And you complain about such small fees? If I order something from Canada to my country, which is in Europe, I would have to pay at least $70 for express shipping or at least $20 for a regular one, which btw takes more than a month.

    • @MrBsmable
      @MrBsmable 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Canadian dollar is cheaper than the us one. 1 euro is 1,42 canadian$ and 1,26 us $. The difference isnt that much. And still you dont pay nearly as we do for delivery.

    • @MrMassivemeatlog
      @MrMassivemeatlog 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      for me it costs price of phone converted into CAD, add retail tax (15% for me) + 10 duty fee and another $30 for shipping.
      its not great but its still pretty good.
      to tally it up it cost me $475 to get it to my door, and that was with 64gb + a $20 case.
      which is about $410 + 65 for shipping and tax which isn't too too bad.
      PS: OP is nice enough to declare the phone as a $300 phone not a $350 so you save $5-10 on tax ;)

    I have just over one week with my OnePlus One (64GB Sandstone Black) and I've gotta say... It's really nice. I'm not familiar with 'Rooted' phones and whatnot, but I do like it a lot. It definitely gives you TONS of options, and if you activate the 'Developer Mode', another ton of options appear! ;) I also recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I feel about the same for it as I do the Oneplus One. I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy S2 that I've had for years, now. (I bought it when the Galaxy S3 had everyone flocking to the stores foaming at the mouths), so both of my new phones are a huge leap forward for me, so maybe that's why they both rank about the same to me. The OnePlus One has it's fair share of glitches most of which (if not all) can be remedied via software update(s), but other than that, it's pretty neat. My Galaxy S4 feels more familiar to me, because I'm used to Samsung's 'TouchWiz' UI from the S2. The OnePlus One is definitely shaking up the market, and I mean that in a GOOD way, and that's why I'm happy to support them. Hopefully, they will inspire other companies to start caring more about generating a positive response and loyal customer bases than profit margins. In a perfect world, that would've already happened, but one can only hope. =)

      Chenxi Hong Well, not really. I mean, being able to install your own SD card is a big selling point, since you can remove it and transfer files easier, or have multiple SD cards for example. Pictures and Records takes alot of space in a short time, unless you transfer them each time, you will have a bad time.
      With Foldermount, you can transfer entire games into your SD card, I have 9,77GBs of movies, 4GB of pictures/videos, and 6,80GB of Games in my SD card right now (64gb) and I have another of 16GB for backups and such.
      It's like having a PC that you can't remove the HDD/SSD.. in the long term it's not great.

    Thanks for the video. I've had my 64GB OnePlus One for close to one month now, and I have nothing but great things to say about it. I haven't even rooted it yet because in the past I'd usually root my phone to delete all the useless apps installed by the carrier. Well, this is definitely not the case with this phone, and I'm glad. I actually think that folks who are used to having a lot of bloat will be surprised that they get a phone that has the majority of the apps they use on a daily basis installed without duplicate apps swimming around. That said, I don't think that the invite system and other "contests" were well thought out, and that's why they kept changing things. One last thing, I don't think it really helps that OnePlus is selling these phones on Amazon for more than the price people who had invites had to pay. So, I don't think that the advertised price ($349) is going to be the actual price once there's no need for invites. But, even for the price they're asking on Amazon ($400+), it will still be $200+ less than the new apple and samsung that will come out this year.

    Oppo find 7 or the Oneplus+ one??? People don't realize how great these phones are. Sorry Samsung but I'm switching to oppo or Oneplus because they know the average user very well. Don't want ever to buy touchwiz when I can run cynogenmod.

      Aditya Sheth yes true Samsung is a beast in the tech industry but they keep making mediocre phones. I own my gs3 rooted and a haven't upgraded to the s4_ and s5 because they aren't really impressive compared to other flagships. They only problem with the plus+one and the find

    • @androidunderground40

      Aditya Sheth yea I agree with you expect for services. They want me to buy music from their stupid library and KNOX. It is impossible to root your phone if you want to update to 4.3 because makes it so difficult to unlock the boot loader.

      It really depends on what you want to use for phone for. On paper the phone has great specs and really stand up with most major phones today. I believe the LG G3 , and this phone share the same specs in and out but with just differences in hardware. If you can get an invite from oneplus, you should def give it a try, for the specs and how it looks being this cheap is hard to pass by. I would buy this phone if I hadn't bout the LG G3 already.

      ***** In my opinion, most definitely. I upgraded from Galaxy S3, which is still moderate phone in my standards. However when I bought S3 during it's launch it was very expensive and even though phone felt good, price of it was way too high for my preference. I just upgraded to OnePlus One as I had good opportunity to get it. It feels as it's great update and well worth the price. If you want "snappy" and well tweakable phone out-of-box. It's the absolute best value for money. I almost got Nexus 5 and was waiting for Note 4 prices to go down, but I'm very happy I didn't wait. This phone will work for me for quite awhile.

    Good things about the phone:1-smooth while in use.
    2-great design.
    3-good user interface.
    4-More options about how you want your phone to be eg themes etc.
    5-very very great money value.
    6-Amazing battery life....15 hours if not very frequently used but if used frequently then12-13 hours which is pretty good.
    7-The user gets an amazing feel of the phone when use because of its back texture.
    Nothing in this world is perfect.Although this phone is pretty good it has a very few disadvantages also:1-The phone is quite huge and hence the user has to use both his hands to hold and use it.
    2-The phone's screen is very fragile and can not service a single fall on its screen...the screen will crack and break but on a normal fall on its back from a 5 ft nothing happens except some minor scraches.

    Very nice video mate!
    Only thing that gets me about the Oneplus or the oppo is the 5.5" screen.
    I would literally sell/smash (lol) my S3 right away if it was for a 5" display.
    I've got reasonably big hands, and a 5" is stretching it.
    5.5 is just too big. You can even see from their OWN survey that was linked in this video - that people wanted a 5" display - but they ignored that and went for a 5.5". Why's that? What's the point of making a phablet? When the majority of your market won't come from "Note users".
    If they want to break the market- release your same phone, in a 5" and possibly even 4" size - and then "GG" competition.

I buy phones, currently have an LG G2 and the first thing I do is wipe the OS and install an clean 'non bloated' version of android.
