Thanks Dodge I enjoyed this podcast. Paul, when you said you are the man of the house. It took me right back, I can remember being told the same thing, looking out for my little brother but also remember feeling ashamed hearing my mother take a beating and not being able to do anything about it.
I keep myself to myself but If I see injustice I act, can’t really help it. As you said I’m no hard man but preying on the weak turns my stomach and I’ve got in to a few scrapes because of it.
All the best with the message you are sending.

Thanks guys. With you from the start Paul. Our stories are very familiar. A violent father, who I never respected & just wanted to beat up when I was old enough. My brother was stabbed to death with a samurai sword & died in my arms (in a quiet seaside town, unheard of at the time). I lived a life of violence after being bullied as a child & ended up in a mental hospital for three years at the age of 17. My reputation contributed to my brother's murder. I was an enraged animal for years, a manifestation of childhood trauma & fear. Bless you. And thank you, Dodge. I've watched loads of your podcasts in the last couple of weeks. Glad I found you on here.

As for Paul. Being a man is being a father and a husband. Which he couldn't have done if he spent 20yrs in prison. I'm sure his brother would rather he had a life with his family. And not let this incident destroy both their lives. Good luck Paul.....You're the man you wanted to be..

Paul does a fantastic job of explaining Trauma and especially Intergenerational Trauma. It’s like he has done a diploma in it! He has made a very sad and personal story into something of an educational tool for all those who do not understand how society works and how we are all knitted together by Trauma of some form or another. Most of all he has healed himself and demonstrates great power through his intelligence and compassion. As do all of your guests Dodge. Another fascinating podcast. These folks more than deserve the platform you give them. And we need to hear them. Thanks.

Another great interview. Thank you Dodge, but most importantly to Paul for retelling his trauma, which is very stoic. I don’t think Paul is as aggressive as he wants people to believe he is, hence why he never carried out those vicious attacks. Paul carries a huge burden on his shoulders, from his mum wanting him to be her big protector (man of the house), naturally him wanting to seek revenge for his brothers murder, but all whilst protecting his brothers name (RIP), etc.
Paul has so much more to give in life, possibly working with ex offenders, DV survivors, supports groups for trauma.
Whatever direction he takes best of luck.

From personal experience I think it's a dangerous time with mental health issues. A few years ago I decided to open up to my friends about my mental health issues. Seemed okay at first and they seemed to be accepting. But, it wasn't long before their opinion of me changed and their respect for me was gone. As a result I've lost most of my friends. It's years on now and I'm glad it happened as it's shown me who these people really are. Just remember to assess weather the people around you are truly concious and not just claiming to be before you open up.

That's a good point mate and yh it's a shame some people only view life from what society calls normal....some people who get a bit funny with you If you open up is becaus sometimes they actually feel the same but there plan is too bury it forever n not try n understand it because there worried people will think there weird,so when you got the balls too say how your feeling n what's going on in your head they run a million miles from ya...they either feel their not allowed too open up n resent the fact you can or your reminding them off a part off themselves they been trying too hide because they think it's something wrong with them sorta thing...cheers

What an articulate bloke. Great story. Childhood trauma is the root of so many problems, society needs to invest more in freely available therapy for all.

I’m just done seeing a psychiatrist and Paul’s life is like the conversation yesterday,I’m locked in on drugs and I’ve an indictment case for Police assault and this podcast was better than councillors I’ve seen.
I turn to violence quickly but I’m scared I’m not saying I’m no gangsters,I just sold drugs and I’ve got that stopped.
Paul is very inspirational and I hope to God I can find the strength from somewhere like he did .

Good interview and wish all the best to Paul and family hopefully he can get some closure in doing good and returning to the community. As sure he could have got his hands on those ppl and killled them but then what would happen to his existing family? Then you also have to look at the impact he is having with the charity? He has probably saved countless lives of children possibly ending up in prision or worst.
It's never easy taking the good path but you have done yourself and your family very proud.

My heart was pounding. I felt rage for this and with this man. I seriously would have jumped on a plane and helped him look for those 4. I had something similar not as bad. I can tell you this. I have went on but if given the chance I would not trust myself around the sticker.
Thank you for helping realize I'm not alone and that your words and feelings have give me hope.
    Thank you🙏🏻
