Hi Mr.Simmons. My Name is David Cashe all the way from Trinidad. WI. I was viewing Bike Fest Videos s I love doing and saw that you had a youtube page in which I was very impressed with the way you conducted your sessions. I own a 2007 GSXR 1000 and a 2008 Suzuki Boulevard M109R. One thing you mentioned which is so important and is Practice, Practice, Practice. No rider is perfect. There are unguarded moments and practicing riding as often as possible helps you to avoid near misses. Stay bless and continue the fantastic work you're doing.

Retired California Highway Patrol saying hello to you from Sin City. Moved here last year. Came across your vid and I think it’s a good one. I sold my ‘07 Electraglide, FLHT in September of 2018 in preparation for my move to Vegas. For more than a year, I’ve been shopping for my next bike. I was torn between the Roadglide and the Goldwing. Well, six days ago I purchased the 2020 Roadglide Special in barracuda silver denim. I get what you’re saying about the amount of technology (or the lack of) and the amount of money H-D is demanding for their bikes. After checking my local H-D dealer’s website, I found that they got in the barracuda silver denim (coincidentally, they said it came from New York). I went in the same day and that’s all it took. After seeing that beautiful silver Roadglide sitting on the floor, I knew she was going home with me. I’m loving the ride and feel. It feels real good to be on a bike again! I’ll be leaving her mostly stock, except I’ll be adding the lower fairings as soon as they come in. Lol, I ordered them before I left the dealership. Well, I’m gonna check out your vid on riding techniques. I’m always down to learn from a pro 👍🏽
I’ll be looking forward to seeing some more of your vids. Take care and stay safe. 🇺🇸

Byron my brother, what’s up! C.H.iP.a in the house!! Nice to hear from you man! Thanks for your service and I hope you’re enjoying retirement.
Congratulations and good luck on the new bike. It sounds like, just like my purchase, it was meant to be. You walked in the dealership, looked at the bike, and the bike “made IT move”. When a product “makes IT move”, even a little, there’s a very good chance a purchase will be made. 😂😂
Take care and be well brother.

Robert, enjoyed hearing your commentary on your Harley. I laughed hearing you reference the vibration & finding neutral!!! Gee I thought it was just me & my heavy truck driving foot (18 wheeler) or my inexperience. I noticed this 1st with a used RoadKing Police version I owned before buying a used StreetGlide, so glad to hear someone with riding experience speak to that. Robert, another thing about the CVO bikes. They are assembled in a building next to the main building at the York Factory. 2 guys start and complete the bike, so it is not like the old assembly line build. The factory doesn't even use and assembly line technique anymore either. The bikes are assembled on a cart that follows metal strips on then floor to each person that installs a different part on it.. Pretty cool how the plant works. Every time I tour the plant I see more and more robots doing the work. It's a worthwhile trip if you have never done the tour before.

Robert welcome to the Harley Davidson Family. I recently discovered your channel and enjoy it so far. Two items of advice out of you complaints. Change the transmission fluid to a heavier gear type, Bel Ray, Redline, or the newer H-D transmission fluid. Also check out some KST Mayhem Bars, 10 or 12 inch can be installed with your stock cables/lines. You are a tall guy and will feel much less crowded by the bars. Okay adding one more item, Legends Revo A rear shocks. FYI Apple CarPlay was a key reason I bought my 19 CVO Limited!!

Great bike! I am glad I happened upon your channel. I am in the process of putting a stage 2 kit on my '99 ultra classic. It needed the cam tensioner replaced, as all TC88 motors do so I figured as long as I had the cam plate out I NEEDED some high torque cams.

I had a CVO limited with a 110 twin cam in it and I can tell you it had much more vibration than what the M8 motor has. They refined it quite a bit but left just enough in so it still feels like a bike. I had a Goldwing and it put me to sleep, (boring),but to each his own. I now own a 2019 CVO Road Glide with the 117 like yours, and a 2017 CVO Limited with the 114 M8, and love them both. I agree on the the gear indicator thing. Great video Mr Simmons! I agree with a lot of your points. I own a 2013 Harley CVO Road Gilde and a 2019 Indian chieftain dark horse (with upgrades). I needed the fairing bolts tightened after 1 week on the cvo. Nothing yet on the Indian. Pros and cons to both bikes. Indian rides better. Better center of gravity and suspension. Very powerful in engine sport mode. Harley has better overall response in throttle. But having bought a CVO I would not do so again. I would buy the stock model and add accessories as necessary. Cost would be about the same. Indian could use a IPOD feature. They have recently added apple play though. I love both bikes but Indian has a slight edge in my opinion.

The law of physics says its going to vibrate, but gives that typical H-D sound. Make the engine larger, the vibes will increase. Enjoy your fabulous ride for what it is. From hearing your pros and cons, it seemed like there is much more to like about the Indian. I would like to know your thoughts on this: my research indicates that Harley's handle better, look better, and have more torque, but high maintenance. Indians seem to feel much better on the highway, more technology and rider friendly, much less maintenance.

I'll be honest, man, you've 'de-sold' me on HD's for real!! After hemming and hawing about 'em for years, I was actually okay with a number of the flaws. But when you got to the shaking of the handlebars, I was done. Had that experience on my CB500 hooptey while roaming a couple of the freeways in L.A. and it scared the crap outa me. It never happened before that and only one other time after. Admittedly, I was cruising 80, trying to stay with traffic and thought I'd get out of a couple o pockets. So I rolled the throttle, accelerated and the next thing I knew those bars started rattling and vibrating. If Harley's do that normally then it's a wrap. I stay with Honda or go for a Beemer. 500's are not fast or powerful bikes at all but they get me where I'm going with just enough of each. But I will say that HD's are some beautiful machines, like the one you own. I just respectfully decline. Go on though, and have fun with it!

This video plays a lot like the conversations I keep having in my head.
Harley for the price does not offer what it could, and what it should. You are buying into the name and "tradition"
    Now - with that said.
Indian offers a lot of tech in its new models. The suspension is something else. The fox monotube under the saddle is brilliant. The infotainment is more advanced. But the fit and finish look cheap. The clamshells look like cheap plastic. But more than that is the lack of dealerships available.
I have a grand total of 1 here in Vegas compared to the 3 H-D dealerships. And the experience I had with that turned me off to the brand entirely. Condescending sales staff and employees who acted like they were doing me a favor by letting me buy an Indian.
    Anyways

Having said that, I've been riding for 20 years now, been on many different types of bikes from many manufactures and I always thought I'd never own a Harley partly because of how much they cost and just there reputation for reliability and the "Harley tax" but after befriending a Harley rider I started looking again. Found a 2016 SG Special that was too good to pass up. I loved my BMWs, Kawasakis, Yamahas, etc but there's something about that sound, that custom paint that just can't be beaten. As I looked at that road king on the floor, I convinced myself that I wouldn’t have to do anything to it at all. That I could just ride it and enjoy it without a simple modification I was convinced at that time that Harley had made all the sweet changes and removed all the bugs out of it And my wife was convinced as well. That frame of thought lasted about 10 days after purchase.😂😂😂 then as I visited my local dealer, numerous times, discovered that this stock bike was everything, but finished. The brake pedal was just too high, those handlebars were just not going to work at all, the seat was uncomfortable, it was going to need road pegs, floorboard extensions, shifter extensions, some mechanical revision to make the clutch pull easier, the windshield, shortened, windshield, bag, added, highway pegs for the wife, back, rest for the wife and myself, luggage rack with all needed mounting hardware, new suspension, front and rear, then there is the trailer hitch, a cargo trailer with all the necessary camping gear for old people and the list goes on and on and on and on😂😂😂 my wife stopped, asking me ,”are we done yet?” about a year ago.
You mentioned riding a road king for police duty, and one of the questions that I’ve always been curious about is what kind of modifications they allow each officer to make to that bike so that it’s more comfortable? For the individual I stopped a local cop here in my hometown and I asked him the very question and he said that they ride them totally stocked and they’re not allowed to do anything at all to make them more comfortable for the individual officer, and honestly he wasn’t really impressed with the overall comfort. It’s really funny because my local dealer wants me to come down and test ride new bikes all the time and I keep looking at them with one thought in mind “why would a person ever wanna ride a blank slate ever again?”……too funny please excuse my rambling😂

You're upset Harleys don't come with LED lights. You get one that does come with LED lights, and you replace them anyway. So why would it upset you if it didn't have them?
These M8 motorcycles come with a counterbalancer. They don't shake anymore. Everything is perfectly still when at idle.
The gear indicator, yeah I'm with you on that one. Harley gear indicators calculate what gear you're in based on RPM and speed. If those don't match, it won't show what gear you're in, like when you've got the clutch pulled in, or the motor isn't running. I'm pretty sure they could show that if they put a sensor in there that reads the position of the gear selector.
I've never ridden an Indian. I'd love to, but they're just very hard to find in Europe. The current Indian models I'm not a fan of. They look gaudy to me. The elegant lines and classic styling of Harleys is more my groove.
If it's performance you want though, don't go with Harley's 122ci Stage III, but get something aftermarket like the S&S, Fuel Moto, or Zippers 128ci kit with a solid tuner like the ThunderMax or a Dynojet Powervision with Target Tune module. Even a Stage II with an aftermarket cam like the Wood WM8-22X-E, Zippers 468, or S&S 475 will perform much better than the 122ci. Also, replace that restrictive ventilator air cleaner with an Extreme Flow (ventilator, round, or heavy breather) from Harley or something aftermarket that will allow air to flow into the engine freely.

If it didn’t vibrate I wouldn’t own one. May as well have a Honda. That bike is a beauty.
