Drone Golf Course Crash

UNEDITED - This is what happens when you loose signal at a golf course. Still have no idea why i lost connection since I have had it out much further on several occasions. It flew directly home. The only problem was that there was a tree directly in the return flight path.
And yes I know how it works and where I went wrong so please don't remind me.
Stuck upside down in the tree for 3 days. Recovered with some help from some friends. NO DAMAGE - Not even the props. Inserted new battery and flew like a champ. Really got lucky there was no rain during those 3 days.

The Phantom return home at the same height it has when the control is missed, you must fly the Phantom higher than the higher obstacle in the path to assure it dont crash returning home.
