Mike Stoklasa Really Likes Star Trek

- A compilation of the instances of Mike referencing Star Trek.
About 98% of Mike's Star Trek allusions made it into the video. The only stuff I left out were redundancies he mentioned prior and instances were ST references that were vague enough to not warrant inclusion. Everything else was edited for brevity. And it was still 29 minutes long.
Obviously, all clips belong to Red Letter Media.
Someday I hope to meet someone who will look at me with the look that Mike gets in his eyes when he talks about Star Trek...
look at you like a hack fraud you mean?
This was good. I liked this.
No you don't. What I love about him is that he's not really a fanboy type person. He likes Star Track because it used to try to be smart. If you met a person who appreciated you in the abstract to the same level you'd find them creepy.
Someday I hope to meet someone who will look at me with the look Jay gives the camera whenever Mike references Star Trek...
Star "Track"? Really?
Mike:This reminds me of a Star Trek Episode
Jay:This reminds me of obsurce 1980s horror film that was directed by a Porn director.
Rich: This mevie...
Holy shit you win +2 internets
No no no no
Rich: AAIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
*this moopie
Very accurate

When you reference Star Trek to a man dressed as Worf and he says “what” you have truly reached god level
To be fair the bazooka *fired* purple, it wasnt purple itself.
What episode was that?
Spiderdalorian if you’re asking when worf Shot the purple bazooka it was in Star Trek movie 9 insurrection. Ppl hate it but honestly it’s no different than an average TNG episode with a big budget. It’s not terrible, just a boring movie.
@@stephenvargas5806 thanks....
He should have screamed, “You are NOT Feklar!”
You can play dead all you want Jay, Mike is still going to explain the reference to your unconscious/lifeless body.
You might not have noticed... but your brain did
I love how they're self-aware enough to pan off to Jay, whenever Mike says, "this reminds me of that Star Trek episode where . . ."
And Jay always looks like he wants to throttle Mike (or he's longing for the sweet release of death.)
Hell, if Jay dies and at his funeral, Mike's eulogy will make reference to Star Trek while if Mike dies first, Jay's eulogy will just reference to other movies
But he won't get rapey.

"Being dead reminds me of an episode of Star Trek."
-Mike Stoklasa's tombstone, the future
LMFAO!!!
'Skin of Evil" where Tasha Yar dies, "The Sound of Her Voice" where they spend the whole episode talking to a dead lady, or "Tears of the Prophets" where Jadzia Dax dies?
I'm going to be honest. I never, EVER do like shitty social media dick sucking via "upvotes" or "thumbs up" or "likes" or whatever the fuck, but man, your comment made me forget how awful the world is for like 10 seconds straight. Thank you.
@@LiveLongAndProsperHonestly hopefully the internet isn't driving you up a wall anymore...
He'll probably hope he doesn't end up like Zombie1Picard
Jay looks like he dies a little inside every time Mike references Star Trek.
SuperDevolution One of those sounded like it was from an Avengers review (2012 or 2015). Same exact look he gave the camera during the BR 2049 review.
‘Hello darkness my old friend...”
All it would take to convert him is one forced marathon binge watch of TNG
Just imagine how often Mike does it off-camera.
I'm honestly surprised that Jay doesn't turn up dead by the end of this video.
I love how Rich is the only one capable of keeping up with Mike's Trekspertise.
Star trek and watching homeless people having rough anal sex with each other are the cornerstones of their friendship. they watch both in the manhole
Capable and willing
he's a straight up enabler!
It must be a fat guy thing.
It's like when Josh is there for Jay's obscure as fuck film references.
I love how Jay is vaguely interested in a polite, friendly sort of way in the early episodes, but now he just fucking dies inside when Mike or Rich mention Star Trek.
When Jay looks all sad about Mike's Star Trek references, it reminds me of that Star Trek episode "The Price" where Picard wants to show Troi the wormhole, and she's all like "that's so boring".
... when you say it like that it really sounds dirty. >_>
Xel Tanni That's all on you.
Later in the episode Geordi and Data penetrate his wormhole along with a couple of Ferengi. They nearly get lost in there.
They were exploring Picard’s outer rim
*SPLOOGE*
He's the only person ever to be held hostage with just words..
I love that rich knows nearly as much and fills in all the gaps enabling him even further.
❤️
Enabling is a good way to put it.
Mike just keeps talking and talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence, moving from topic to topic. It's really quite hypnotic.
Hey that reminds me of that Star Trek episode of the next generation where Picard
*I love that he quoted that line directly in TNG: Timescape when they do their Favorite TNG episode videos*
*Data makes a wtf face*
Mike is like Walter from the Big lebowski but instead of having PTSD from Vietnam he has flashbacks to Star Trek.
And Jay Is Donnie, never having any damn clue what is being talked about. Mike is just not quite as assertive as Walter was. If Mike ever goes full "SHUT THE FUCK UP JAY!" mode, you can bet a looooot of star trek is coming up directly.
Real Name but who is the dude?
Jon Ryder Shut the FUCK up Jonnie!!
PTSD flashbacks remind me of that Voyager episode where the memorial is transmitting memories of a massacre, and the crew is forced to relive the massacre. Then Janeway does questionable order #654789 and orders the crew to fix the memorial so that future generations will be traumatized.
@@jonryder7269 Rich
whenever mike talks about star trek jay looks like he's being held hostage.
Like that one friend that pesters you constantly to watch that one show
He isn't?
It's just like that episode of Star Trek TNG, "Chain of Command", where Picard is being held hostage by Cardassians!
Distracted Globe Productions nice..
Distracted Globe Productions Cardassians*
There is no way Mike hasn't written Star Trek fanfiction and I really wish he'd just share it with the world.
Got your wish!
Data is a little rapey in it
A really good two parter where data learns not to be a rapist by being raped by Klingons
I'd love to read the entire Star Trek: Galaxy script he definitely doesn't keep in the basement next to his Titanic popcorn bucket.
K. W. Titanic Popcorn bucket? When’s that totally not real item referenced in Half In The Bag? I want to see. It.
It's like that episode of Next Generation where they meet a species that speaks in terms of past event references only, except Mike speaks in Star Trek references only.
Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra.
'Rich Evans, his Shaqmeat juicy.'
Lucas and Naidine, when Harry burned.
Sokath, his eyes uncovered!
Stoklasa and Bauman at Lightning Fast VCR Repair
Seeing jay transform from a gruff little dweeb to a fresh cut shaved and styled hipster
i liked Jay before it was cool
Money cleans ya right up.
And how Mike transforms from fat nerd to alcoholic middle aged man
styling your hair doesnt make you a hipster lol
Kieran Cameron no but his pretentious movie choices does
I like how Mike almost always recognizes a person in a movie and recalls them from Star Trek.
Evan Buchholz
It's his useless super power.
Especially when it was an actor who was in one obscure episode.
Star Trek is full of "hey it's that guy!" type actors
I do it too! happened more in the 90's than today
Its funny because Jay does this with almost everything else but knows nothing about Star Trek. He needs Mike to fill in the gaps of his cinematic omniscience
I feel like this is a pretty good summation of Mike and Jay's relationship.
Star Trek is Mike's mistress, the other woman in their relationship.
thewhatness I liked how you use the word relationship and not friendship...
When Mike starts talking about star trek and Jay's reaction is the gf equivalent of her bf talking about sports!
Otsenre s Or the bf equivalent of listening to his gf complain about her coworkers.
“I've been waiting years to say 'Punk Rock Chekov vs Nazi Picard'”.
This is either a Stoklasa Trek-a-Palooza, or a Jay Suicide Stare Super Cut.
Robert Dougherty at 10:13 is definitly the second one
Why cant it be both?
Oh, it’s both
Yes
Scripted or not, that scene where Jay stares into the abyss and then decides to step up and cut Mike off is gold.
It's Mike's "Simpsons did it."
This video reminds me of that episode of Star Trek The Next Generation
kalibos ...where Riker was infected by an alien virus and Dr. Pulaski needed to stimulate old memories to fight off the progression of the disease...
Data Something's GOT MEEEEEEEEE!
Wow I was thinking the exact same thing
The episode where Geordi La Forge and a Romulan are stuck on the same planet and must work together to escape?
Ah yes. The finale of Season 2 of TNG. A total garbage clip show.
Mike doesn't even remember what he had for lunch but remembers every single episode of star trek
Yup
The ever delightful Rich Evans shared this on FaceBook.
Jason Allen No way?!!
Gotta make up for all the compilations of Rich mispronouncing words
Rich is on facebook? Huh ...
Yeah that's how I found it when I was talking to him on there earlier lol.
Sure did!
This video made me realize that I need an hour long asmr video of Mike muttering nonsense into my earholes while fiddling with Star Trek paraphernalia.
I for one want to thank Mike for all the Star Trek references because it turned me into a fan out of curiosity
Daniel Robillard you won’t be disappointed!!!!
Me
Tooooooo
Same here. I haven't watched Deep Space 9 or Voyager yet but I started watching TNG and TOS because of Mike
Daniel Robillard new subscriber here, might do the same lol
That’s called being infected
mikes brand of humor is so distinct, not only from red letter media in general but even from professional comedians, there is is something mesmerizing about it, how it feels earnest and ironic at the same time…
I love Mike's burning love for Star Trek.
Mr. Ishmael It’s almost as hot as the burning sensation in my anus.
I don't like Star Track, but I do love Mike's love for Star Truck.
Because Star Bucks is not my type of series. I'm a fan of Galaxy Quest.
It burns like a sexually transmited disease
@@nicosmind3 Nah, he hates STD.
If you have to have a burning love for anything it might as well be star trek.
When Mike fucks around with that boardgame and it's pieces. This is ASMR material.
R S it's haunting, like a fever dream during an ear infection.
My thoughts exactly
Hell, let's just have an asmr edit of that. Isolate the footage, put the audio in both ears...add some gross wet mouth sounds because there are like two freaks who enjoy that for some reason...

Johnny Taco Studios Add them in every time he eats a piece.
I love Mike just randomly talking about Star Trek out of no where.
thetramp123 willing to bet it’s at least as much to annoy jay at this point
I honestly think Worf's purple space bazooka broke Mike in some minor but significant way
Far better title: "Jay Bauman reacts to Mike Stoklasa really liking Star Trek" because weather you like Star Trek or not, Jay's reactions are gold.
*boop* *boop* *boop* "It definitely is breast cancer."
oh shit it's da roach dawgg
@@toximan2008 The roach dawgg's boy you mean
Damn he made Species 8472 reference, That's deep cuts, that's a true Trek fan there.
Only hardcore fans get that because everyone else had long since stopped watching at that point
Actually, you know someone is a true star trek fan if he makes a reference to Enterprise, because it takes a huge commitment to sit through that shit. Altough there are probably some hardcore fans that won't be able to meet that criteria because they repressed all their memories of the show.
Heitor Mello don't you dare talk bad about my favorite series, Scott Bakula owns my ass
Heitor Mello I'm a huge Trekkie watched TOS, TNG, DS9, and Voyager. Enterprise is beyond painful.
@@dannolan2233 But Voyager gets good right around the time we get to Species 8472, especially since Seven of Nine is one of the Voyager's best characters.
*Jay looks into the camera like The Office*
Mike is so 100% jaded and cynical. EXCEPT...when it comes to Star Trek.
That's where Jay's cynisism comes in to shine.
I love that look on Jay’s face that just says, “Shaka, when the walls fell.”
I like when he says Star Track.
To be fair: Star Trek is pretty neat.
Mike loves Star Trek, Jay loves Twin Peaks, Plinkett loves Pizza Rolls and Rich juicy shaq meat
Yes.
Rich loves his diabetus medicine.
And all of them love Boyhood. (It took twelve years to make, BTW)
owmagawd ma brain hurts
Every brilliant idea in movies today has already been explored in Star Trek TNG... FACT.
Except for "The Room" ... FACT.
Fish Renfroe Boyd Perhaps the most influential and profound movie of our time.
Nathaniel Drake And thats a FACT!
Coming back to this video after their recent video about Picard is really sad. Mike has completely lost all of his love of Star Trek due to Picard, it's heartbreaking to see.
:(
Yeah that was a moment. A broken man.
I love when Jay asks a question he knows will trigger Mike into blurting out Star Trek knowledge
24:50 Mike ASMR starts here.
why is he eating the boardgame?
Was scrolling down looking for this comment, I am not disappointed.
I love this part. Which episode is it from, do you know?
This part of the video is a TH-cam gem.
😍😍😍
Jay's reaction to whenever Mike brings up Star Trek is my favorite running joke in all of RLM.
Jay's face.
It's beautiful
He's got it down.
Jay is so good at keeping his agonized screams internally.
Jay truly cannot escape the hell that is being trapped in a room listening to a man yell the plot of Star Trek at him. His pain is our entertainment and we thank him for his sacrifice.
When he starts comparing a movie to Star Trek you know he likes it.
this just makes me want to rewatch every half in the bag and best of the worst for the hundredth time.
Makes me want to rewatch every Star Trek episode for the hundredth time...
I know, right!?!
To see Jay slowly go through his Hobbit phase into a sleek young lad is heartwarming
30 amazing minutes of mike talking about Star Trek
I would watch Mike play Star Trek, quietly, by himself, for hours.
This video took 6 years to make
Nick Cullen IT BROKE NEW GROOOUUUNDDD

This comment costed me 12 years to write!!!
Very cool. Very cool.
Nick Cullen the new and improved boyhood
Now we need a Mike has dementia compilation
Sebas Peimbert Yeah.
Even TH-cam has its limits.

For some reason I love how Mike just shouts "DEEP SPACE NINE!!!" in sudden anger.
uknownada its an alcoholic rage
It’s not anger. It’s pure joy escaping from his body.
I love it. I could Listen to Mike Stoklasa talk about star trek all d- nearly 30 min.
They say the highest form of flattery is imitation
It’s actually Mike comparing your film to Star Trek
Ellie Nixon Or like that episode of Star Trek: the Next Generation
Bless you son. You're doing Q's work...
That last bit of Mike with the board game was just... hypnotizing
Mike is starting to get a lovely turkey/gurgle neck just like George Lucas. He will make a lovely thanksgiving turkey next year.
I love it when Mike start eating the Star Trak characters at the end all nonchalantly.
Finally! I was waiting for this compilation for so long!
I fuckin lost it when Mike started eating the game peices
Just mentioned Voyager in the Blade Runner 2049 review hahah
Already out of date
Every video with mike is going to have at least one Star Trek reference. It would be impossible to make this compilation every five minutes.
TheOrangeFondler at least he apologies on that one
+Red Letter-- Jay, i just love that dead-pan "kill me now" look you give us when Mike starts to go off.
I love when he opens with “do remember when...” when he knows perfectly well that Jay won’t have any idea what he’s talking about.
"Kirk and the gang goes to a federation planet where everyone's been murdered"
6:47 I love how sternly Rich says, "That starts with an 'E'!" Made me laugh.
It's adorable, I wanna hug him.
"That starts with an E!"
Salty Rich Evans is my favorite Rich Evans.
14:21 "I like myself now, I'm Tuvix!" with the little arm motions, it cracks me up. I don't even recall why, but it just popped into my head and so now here I am, watching this video again.
It definitely is breast cancer.
Everybody's banged Lisa.
It is not breast cancer its bullshit its not true it is not breastcancer it is not ! oh hi Quib Quach
Good luck with the cancer!
I’m so glad I have RedLetterMedia in my life and I love Lisa so much.
Quib Quach No one will help me, and I’m dying!
It's only been a few months and this already needs to be updated.
Mike and Rich talking about Star Trek while nobody else knows what they're talking about is like Rich and Jack with video games. Jay just has his weird, obscure movies.
Josh is always there for Jay when he talks obscure movies.
20 years ago, talking about Sci-Fi, Marvel, B-Movies, video games, or anything "nerd" in general would have been the kiss of death for my or any other nerds social life. Now, you get a massive TH-cam following.
GabeFromKyushu Good point.
Yuuuuup
....not in asia..
Even the jocks are also nerds
I don't know why, but I find Mike's playing with the board game stuff very endearing
Like a little kid at xmas.
16:20 i really enjoy how Mike reacts to the phaser not liquidating his good friends with the sort of panic one might feel when they've just tried to change the channel with the wrong remote.
I literally understand every Star Trek reference Mike has ever made. Is that a problem?
Hunter No. You're in good company.
Me too
No it just means you watched Next Generation.
I understod nothing, so we have to different camps here.
Only if you ever want to know what the touch of a woman feels like.
Don't mean to be a pain, but can you make a separate video where you cut this down to just the parts where Mike references Star Trek and Jay looks at the camera like he wants to die?
I genuinely enjoy all the Star Trek comparisons. And I think it's hilarious when everyone around acts all bothered by it. It reminds me of my own musings with my friends.
Love the fact that there is almost thirty minutes worth of footage of Mike talking about Star trek. That's a true fan.
you know, the only way that star trek vhs game is going to be worth any money now is if you literally take a sharpie and write on the box "plinkett ate one of the guys"
Not gonna lie though - Mike's love of Star Trek is what finally convinced me to start watching it. Watched the first 20 episodes of TOS so far. Another 5 years or so and hopefully I'll be able to understand an entire episode of half in the bag.
It's been 2 years, how far are you
@@podyjr101 I'm on a temporary ST hiatus, but I'm a bit over half way through VOY right now.

"He never gets rapey"
Lol. Like that would be a thing. Awesome. Mike's comic genius gives you the unexpected
Data is gentleman enough to wait until his date brings it up.
Lore would be rapey
The bet in the end when Mike fiddles with nerdy start trek stuff - I watched the whole thing. Twice. It was oddly satisfying.
ive been waiting for something like this for a long time. Ive stolen his constant sidetracking thing, and use it in times where people need to be enlightened about Xena warrior princess.
I love that Simpsons where Lucy Lawless appears as herself at a Xena convention and comes up with the greatest explanation for continuity errors ever: "every time you see something like that, a wizard did it". And when the next question is about a continuity error she cuts them off with "A WIZARD!" and won't listen to the whole question.
Ever read the online comic strip 8-Bit Theater? They had the wizard in question as one of the characters hiring them for sidequests later on. He was a deity level mage who would constantly fire off randomized spells, or alter reality in strange ways just for kicks. He once bragged "a day is really 36 hours long, but I shortened it to 24 so everyone has to rush around to get anything done". Kind of explains a lot doesn't it?
"You think maybe you make too many allusions to Star Trek?"
*Drinking Intensifies*
'what does god need with a star ship' - could have been william shatner in the person. dead on.
Find someone who loves you as much as Mike loves Star Trek.
I don't think Jay will ever watch that show.
Favorite moment: 7:56 the way his heart skips a beat when he hears Denise Crosby say "Geordi!" Lmaooo
His name is Geordi! And he’s blind!
the way mike just eats the pieces so nonchalantly cracks me up so much
"Does Data have sex on Star Trek?"
"Oooh yeah. He never gets rapey."
Jay's face 😂
I love when Jay looks at the audience when Star Trek is mentioned
Jay has aged like a fine wine. The rest of these guys have aged like dairy products...

...and I sat there watching the whole final 4 minute segment before it occurred to me to wonder WHY I was sitting through it.
did u know it was 12 years in the making.
a real journey when you first watch this video having no idea what mike is talking about all of the time and then, years later after you starting watching star trek yourself, you get at least 70% of the references
Mike Stoklasa loves doing laundry because the rinse cycle reminds him of that one Star Trek episode where the crew was trapped in this planet that resembled the Wild West.
