Hmm, I really like FF7 Rebirth a lot but Shadow you said it right where I got really burnt out from all the side stuff. The main story/character I really loved and it's battle system was pretty fun too. Akira Toriyama's passing hit me really hard since I grew up with Dragon Ball series, watching it on Toonami all the time after school so I just sat there all night remembering all the good times that GOAT's story gave to me through the anime, video games, and just playing pretend with my cousins. RIP, you will never be forgotten. I actually like Tokyo Xanadu due to the characters, story, and setting. I loved it a whole bunch and thankfully the fighting took 2nd, it was nice and simple and I was glad about that since when I play games I play for the story and characters first, gameplay 2nd. As long as the gameplay doesn't get in the way of me from enjoying the game's story/characters and it's nice and simple than I'll definitely enjoy it, especially if it's anime asf! TX reminded me a lot of Cold Steel style and just a bit of Ys battle system and I greatly prefer that over how Ys is cause tbh, I get mad bored of just running around fighting constantly with barely any story scenes. I'm just love me story and character interactions so Falcom's best game series for me is easily the Trails series and TX would've been one of my favs but it didn't have an English Dub so that really hurt it for me. I was SUPER bummed about it that it really hurt the enjoyment of the game for me. I really hope TX's sequel goes to NISA so there's a high chance of it getting an English Dub and I hope it stays with the first game's formula of school setting and almost Trails level of story/character detail and a simple battle system., just good is good enough for me as long as it doesn't take away from my enjoyment from the story cutscenes and character/npc interactions. I'm in the camp of loving Kingdom Hearts for it's story and characters over it's gameplay. The gameplay is fun but tbh, I don't really remember much of them as much as I do it's stories and characters. Those things are just peak fiction for me! Can't wait to see what story and characters appear in Kingdom Hearts 4. Still think SE announced it too soon.
RIP to the GOAT Akira Toriyama and thank you for shaping millions of people's childhoods mine included. On another note if a sky remake does happen falcom has to make it a priority for the releases between JP and the West to be a short as possible (maximum six months imo) if they want any hope of the series blowing up worldwide.
People who have never played Kingdom Hearts will remember it for being a Disney/Final Fantasy crossover, anyone who's ACTUALLY played the games will remember it for it's gameplay.
while it does sadden me that we will probable never see the like's of Akira Toriyama's Art Style ever again and i did grow up with a few Dragon Quest game's i do have too say that some of Akira's idea's were not all made very well kind of how the character Uub has just become non existent and various female trope character's just did not get too do anything even dragon quest had it's down moment's
You don’t get into a Trails Game and fail to finish it. There’s plenty of games that I fall off of before finishing them, XBC3 and FFVII Rebirth Chief among them. But I’ve never picked up a Trails game where I later felt fed up before the title’s finale. That being said, playing 11 of those games in 1 year is just stupidly ridiculous. I don’t know any other JRPG titles with as much writing g-based immersion. If you’re going g to learn anything about Zemuria, it’s by talking to every farmer in Erebonia, every in-game day: For real though, if you’re going to ignore all of the optional dialogue and literally pay no attention to any of the NPC arcs you’re surrounded by just these games, then you really may as well not play any of the games at all. Trails is special because of the attention to detail and the way Falcom weaves its world-building through optional discourse, hidden quests, and the lore that carries over from those. They don’t really have the budget to visualize the Hundred Day War; the intersection of the Orbal Industry with national politics and Economics, and they offer even less narration for the important events of the 50 years past-such as the Salt Pale appearing around the same time McBurn manifested in the world, and all of that coinciding with the start of the first Orbal Revolution. If you finish the Sky trilogy and haven’t been asking yourself those questions, then you kinda wasted your time because that history has had a great deal of influence m-over the development, politics, economies, militaries, and cultural norms much more-throughout every Zemurian country you’ll visit in each arc and independent stat. Those events are never front and center, but they’re always at the core of why our protagonists and their allies always find themselves fighting a national remnant of their nation’s past histories.
