- I Was Wrong About Ultimate Spider-Man - I won't lie, I was wrong about this comic book. Jonathan Hickman has given us PEAK so far and this is my review of Peter, MJ and the gang in this third Issue of Ultimate Spider-Man from the BRAND NEW Marvel Comics Ultimate Universe

So glad to see this turn around, Lewis! That said, I actually think Uncle Ben isn't the one we need to worry about here. The fact that Hickman has already put in all this extra effort in exploring Ben as a character sans Aunt May and giving him what seems to be a character arc paralleling Peter's suggests to me that Ben is going to be in this run for the long haul. In fact, given all the subversions and fresh interpretations of the broader Spider-Man mythos we've seen to date, I think Jonah is going to be the one who ends up dying. As a veteran Fullmetal Alchemist fan, I'm getting serious Maes Hughes vibes from this version of JJJ.
I agree with you. I would say the most likely targets are Jonah, Harry, and Marry Jane.
@@henrypeters5291 I’m scared it’s going to be Richard. May is important as she serves that role that MJ fills in the normal comics. Someone that can love and support Peter being Spider-Man. And MJ seems like she’ll be important. But Richard hasn’t really added much so far. And neither did Uncle Ben didn’t either before he died in 616 comics.
But I think Uncle Ben is still gonna die. I’m very glad that Uncle Ben was more fleshed out here. But it seems like Uncle Ben and JJJ have this whole sideplot of trying to uncover Fisk. As more the smaller antagonist of this story, I’m sure he will want to take out the competition/or someone he sees as a threat. Uncle Ben being the mentor and Jonah being the mentee will set up a direction for the story. Ben dies which will make Jonah double down both on Fisk and vigilantes. It will also give Peter the “with great power comes great responsibility.” I thought about Uncle Ben and JJJ both dying setting up another reporter, Eddie Brock. But so far, JJJ seems super important to the status quo.
I feel like it could be Gwen that's gonna die(again). I mean just think about it: Spider-Man fails to save Gwen(again), Harry gets angry and turns into a villain(again), and Spider-Man learns that with power must also come great responsibility(again).
I actually had the same Theory. It would be an genuine twist, and it would be an interesting dynamic for Uncle Ben to not only be alive but to be the one with the Vendetta against Spider-Man.
He already had responsibility he has children he is 35 he isnt a high school kid who needs to learn that
It's a very powerful responsibility, having children you don't care about anything else in the entire world but bring them into the world safe and sound, I love the relationship Peter Parker has with his children, especially May, Its very wholesome.
Yeah. No need to kill Uncle Ben either, just to remind that.
If they kill Uncle Ben, then there is no difference with Bendis Ultimate Spider-Man in 2000.
Ultimate Spider-Man #3 was an awesome issue because his daughter May helps him with crafting his suit.
I'm loving the part when Harry Osborn/Green Goblin becomes an ally to Peter after the fight with Ultimate Bullseye. Who has an awesome suit.
Honestly, I think this issue highlighted where you wrong in your last Ultimate Spider-Man video. Peter did not become Spider-Man because it was his destiny. He became Spider-Man because his life had literally been rewritten by the Maker and he could sense that emptiness which is probably what happened with Harry as well.
What if Gwen dies and that’s how harry goes to the dark side? Also wonder what doc ock and venom will be like in this universe

The picotech suit of Peter parker and goblin Harry is spectacular
I just imagine if the great power great responsibility might be from Gwen or it could be the start of downfall of Harry, like have Harry and Gwen be happy and in love, then have the bridge moment happen but like with another villain(s) instead and when Peter fails to save her and learns that life lesson while Harry become vengeful angry at Peter and wanting to kill the villains, but Peter tries to stop him and that’s how they become arch enemies. I’m really loving this run and can’t wait to see where it goes🔥🕷
Chip zdarsky and Tom Taylor's runs on spider-man between 2017 & 2020 were really good.
I know amazing isn't good recently, but there have been some good stuff.
I agree. Ultimate spiderman is one of the best modern spiderman comics, cant wait to read issue 3. I hope when the mcu ends they adapt the new ultimate universe.
I think issue 3 was good, but I hope in next issue we get to see more of Richard Parker.
Hickman had me TILL....I found out about Harry and Gwen
I am loving this new version of Ultimate. I like an older Pete and MJ and their kids, I like Harry as GG being his new hero buddy, I like how Ben and JJJ are both sort of uncles to Pete. I hope it keeps up the quality and builds a genuine dynamic and status quo before it upends it all. It needs to avoid the awful huge twist every two or three issues BS of modern Marvel and just let some shit fucking simmer until its ready to be flipped.
I love peter Parker Spider-Man and Mayday Parker daughter help design the suit which makes me so happy 😀 because damn it as a huge fan of mayday Parker spidergirl from the mc2 universe having her help with the suit with Pete Parker his dad makes me so happy that I am super excited to see what happens with this awesome story in the future.

It takes a strong man to admit they were wrong, so many times we get entrenched in our opinions and refuse to change them. Hickman is indeed cooking! Great video!
Something I don’t think I’ve really seen touched on, is his suit.
Sure, it’s picotech and seems similar to the Superior Iron Man suit in function. But you know what Superior Iron Man’s suit also is? A symbiote. I wonder if this (originally) black picotech suit is THE black suit in this universe. His suit AI and he begin to bond similar to with Harry. Maybe at some point, Peter is separated from the suit, but Peter has to choose between rebonding with the suit and saving May, which he’ll pick saving May. The suit will take this as Vengeance, and will bond with Eddie Brock. Or maybe that’s how they introduce Miles instead is by having him succeed Peter that way (becoming Venom). I wanna see a universe where Miles doesn’t become Spider-Man as to not just take the role from Peter, and becomes like Prowler. I mean yes we are gonna see that in BTSV, but I mean a different direction in comics too. But I think it’d be SO cool to see Venom have android related origins rather than alien. But that’s just an idea I had.

Since reading ultimate Spider-Man that has become my favorite hero . Love the story and art. Just a reminder whatever happens in this book and the other ultimate titles is not the issue. It’s when all the heroes come together to battle the maker. He is coming so what happens now is a side bar. That is what I’m waiting for
I still don’t trust Harry as he is the Green Goblin especially if he is supposed to be a good remember in the Sins Past as he was behind the Stacy twins and I thought he was going after the Shocker and yeah I really can’t tell is Peter Smart or Stupid.

I really don't think they'll kill Uncle Ben off and am still uncertain about Harry becoming a villain. This world is different and characters have different destinies (that's the whole point). Reed Richards is Dr Doom, Tony is pretty much confirmed to become Kang, Loki is king of Asgard. I think it's best at this point not to expect something to happen just because it happened in 616. Let them cook.

I'm glad you changed your stance; it was pretty sheepish to say that Ultimate Spider-Man was "overrated" after just two issues.

Personally, I think that Harry will die somehow, and Gwen will become a villain because she believes it is Peter's fault that Harry died, and I think Gwen will become a Spider-Being, and she'll act as a dark reflection to Peter

Do you think Peter will stick with the nano tech suit because if someone connects to it while they’re out in the field fighting they can just reveal his identity me personally I don’t really think they’re going to make a cloth version of the suit. I just think he’s going to stick with the Nanotech going forward. Or they could change it up when Harry becomes a bad guy.

I don’t wanna manifest this to happen but I was theorizing that maybe… MAYBE… May dies. Here me out first! She’s already been let in on the secret identity of her father, her mother and brother don’t know yet which could cause tension, and we’ve been seeing a lot of her and her father bonding recently so I wouldn’t rule out her being the one to die. The only reason I don’t think it’s possible is because she’s a kid and kids don’t really die too often in these comics.

Man why cant we have such stories in live action ???. All these stories have different versions of familiar characters . WHY CANT WE HAVE THAT IN LIVE ACTION TOO ????
What is this constant need to reinvent characters ??. Why cant these braindead mcu and sony writers give different yet accurate versions of spiderman characters .
Why do we need to settle with weird mashups like ned ganke leeds , michelle fake watson , flash weak thompson and involving multiverse for old villains .
Thats why I want tasm series back . At least then I can enjoy spiderman at its fullest and not held back by marvel and sony's disagreements. But the problem here again is sony .

@@LewisFilmsProductions Honestly, I have a strong hunch that whenever the next live action reboot of Peter's Spider-Man happens on the big screen after Tom Holland and the MCU are behind us, whoever comes next will probably pull from this run as a primary influence.
@@incendiesproductions Secret wars is the next reboot of spiderman and it will be tom as well . The 4th mcu spiderman movie isnt really standalone and is tied to multiverse shenanigans .
The 5th mcu spiderman movie will be the start of a new trilogy . At that time we will have a new earth where x men and sony spiderman related characters exist. Spiderman 5,6 and 7 is the last tom holland trilogy I think
