Great video! I appreciate how when pointing out a fault or bad decision you say, "I've done that...we've all done that." It sounds more like a teaching mode than scolding.
Same thing happened to me when I was looking to buy a truck. Nothing was in the Budget and was high mileage and I had come to the point there wasn't one out there but then I found the perfect truck with low mileage. Keep looking don't settle for STUPID!
I think that you aren't responsible for the options you're given but are responsible for the choices you make with those options. I agree that in some cases you ARE able to define new options for yourself.
Also, don't appear desperate. Never go into a car dealership looking Desperate or that you are about to buy the car of your dreams. You will get taken to the cleaners.
So this kind of happened to me when I switched careers this past week. 🤔 I prayed that God would open and shut the correct doors and after my FIRST interview I got offered the job! I panicked and asked how long I had to make the decision bc I had 3 other interviews lined up. The hiring manager was completely shocked that I didn't jump on it and said I had 1 day. 😱 I agonized over the decision. I went on one of the other interviews and ruled out that company but I still couldn't say yes to the first offer so I called and left a voicemail telling the hiring manager that I needed more time but if they couldn't give it, I understood. He called me back and literally convinced me that it was a really good offer and I had until the end of the business day. After crying and praying and deliberating, I called back and accepted the offer. I still kept the other interviews, but it didn't work out (wasn't able to make it to the interviews for scheduling reasons). I had my answer, God was shutting those doors. Now I'm excited about my new job and feel I made the right decision. This whole thing is amazing .... but for a minute there, those were the worst 2 days of my life!
Steve Laney lol I'm from the uk and love Dave, but sometimes when he says his famous better than I deserve...when he says deserve he reminds me of someone from the Simpsons and it drives me nuts I can't remember who.
You almost settled for barely good enough then excellence shows up. Don't settle! The more options you have the more power you have to make the decision! So much stupid tax has been paid on our part. The only addition is these decisions are made under "feelings" and false sense of urgencies mixed with I deserve attitude and no patience. So we then rationalize stupid. He is so right in this one.
Man he made me laugh on this one! :) Dang it - wish I'd had it sussed that being in debt can limit your options - sure, brainstorming helps, but taking some options now would involve getting in to debt again - that ain't appealing.
I'm gonna say what Dave wanted to say but wouldn't for fear of backlash: Stop complaining about why you can't do or get this or that because you have too many kids! Get some freaking birth control because obviously your pull out game is weak!
I think your a great smart man would you ever just call someone as a human being and half a fifteen minute conversation on the phone?????????????????????????????
So interesting ppl vote for the lesser of 2 evils as president, when the same principle noted above applies. Stop limiting yourself and your country for the convenience of the DNC and RNC. Use the write in column. If the write in column gets more votes, then obviously the powers that be need to go back to the drawing board and take note of what the people want, not the other way round.
this is why i love the idea of being debt free without payments, that's the definition of having options
PREACH!

Thank you Dave you’re helping the whole world 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭. From Ghana

This is exactly what I needed to hear....work the problem
Never think you are stuck because it is at that moment you are stuck!
That “opera” note at 4:00… that was priceless!
Pretty much all my bad decisions I was forced into by my own bias. Spot on perspective
Dating advice on point.
"I'm gonna be a monk!" .... I'm gone 😂🤣😂🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
I’m actually in monk mode😂
More rants like this!
Overwhelming common sense, yet so unusual in this world. On point.
Keeping it real! Good stuff Dave
Listen to a man who knows what he's talking about.
This is exactly the lesson I needed today in my life. While I wasn't completely fatalistic I laughed at my mindset which was pretty close.
Dave teaching us how to not settle. ❤
PREACH!

I love Dave Ramsey's mindset!! Respect!!!
Good stuff, Mr. Dave.

Exactly.
This really applies to a marriage when you know it's time to say goodbye, but you just "can't". Yes, you can.
Yes! Definitely applies to relationships!
This is great! Great perspective and message!
"i going to be a monk" 😆😆😆
I hope I apply this to my everyday life

Dave should so get a job doing voice overs on South Park.

Which one do you think he should be? I think he would be perfect to do the Patrick Star on SpongeBob SquarePants. 🤣😅😂😜😁
This was a great Dave rant.
If you have money. Money also give you options.
Totally agree with you.
Excellent points Dave
"This is fatalism" Lol
Sounds like Dave has been reading the 10xRule - 5:20
Good point out! Currently looking into the book. Will read it soon.

Getting in debt is NOT an option, work the problem.
More importantly money and knowledge give you options and power
Exactly!
