Tascam Model 12 & Model 16 basic comparison

I have 2 machines currently and figured to make a video outlining some of the basic differences in mixers and also my thoughts (coming from a dub perspective ) I forgot to mention the Model 12 can also act as a DAW Controller ( I haven’t tested it but that’s the word on the streets)

THANK you; for not having loud, distracting background music - and just getting to the actual content of the video. It's difficult to find 'quality' videos concerning the (Model 16, mostly). I was starting to think TASCAM had sold only around ten of these units - everyone buys the Model 12 for some reason. Anyway, great video, thank you.

Thank you for checking it out ! The Model 12 is "more suited" for a daw and is jam packed with features. The cheapest of the bunch!

I did not have much experience trying them on the 16. The 12 is digital while the 16 eqs are analogue. I felt the 16 had more bass/boxy thing going on

I think* if my memory is correct, the compressor only works in standalone because it is analogue

I am pretty sure you are most correct. I returned my 16 but I noticed a difference in the lights of the compressors when they kick on. The 12 activates almost immediately . Thanks for watching and clearing that up! your memory is good!

Yes, Compressor is for live only. If you are using as interface, pretty sure it's passthrough. PRetty sure the guts of 12 and 16 the same. Not sure you mentioned blue tooth is channel 11/12 on 12 and 15/16 on the model 16. ;) I think these are mixers geared towards DAW/MPC crowd, not so much live bands, more studio.
