I've watched this scene hundreds of times and it still gives me goosebumps. John Wayne is by far one of the greatest Western Stars of all time. Like I said, one of the best. There are many like him but not better.
John Wayne is by far one of the greatest Western Stars of all time. That is a safe remark.😂🕹
Man I’ll always love John Wayne westerns…
picking John Wayne's western movie is disappointment free, 🕹🍿🎉
Great scene. Love the line "Faith can move mountains but it can't beat a faster draw."
That is quite entertaining 🍿🎉
Great stuff . The old westerns were the best .😊
I love that movie
This movie and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly are my 2 absolute favorite movies
That is one of my favorite movies ever and oh my God all those actors are so great and that just give me goosebumps seeing this scene and that whole movie just really makes me love the old west and how John Wayne and every one of those actors plays their part so well and they're so understood between each other and so open and willing to let each other know how good they are and how good that they know each other
I just want to mention that, as well as being very entertaining, this film, in my opinion, has perhaps the most beautiful cinematography, costume and set design of any of Wayne's later westerns.
That is quite accurate 👍🕹😂
georgegravette1132 All I know is that Michele Carrey and Charlene Holt were way fine. R.I.P. to both ladies.
John Wayne Great cowboy 🤠 movie 🤠 🎬
Every couple of months i still watch this on dvd, with a sunday roast and a cold beer. Perfect anti-woke viewing for all the family.
You figure out a very good approach, 🕹😂🕹
One of those classics you can watch again and again
A great movie...but what is "anti-woke" viewing?
@@ronnieb1958 Every couple of months you still watch this, with a Sunday roast and a cold beer, you will get that.😂🕹

Great movie and actors!
Robert Mitchum's brother John Mitchum is the bartender.
The film was first released in Japan on December 17, 1966 and then in the United States on June 7, 1967.
Dobrze powiedziane 🕹🎉
The actor who played Milt (Robert Donner) also played Exidor on “Mork & Mindy”.
That guy was in a ton of movies and shows. Several Duke & Eastwood movies too. His resume was beyond impressive. Passed away in 2006 at 75.
Muito bom nota10 Gracias
Good movie , back when they made real movies.
Draft Dodger
Everyone in that Bar could take him 😂
Great Movie 🎬 😊
😂🕹🍿
Great scene. “There’s a fourth.” Bob Mitchum. Good remake of Rio Bravo.
The fourth didn't show how fast he really was in the movie, but toughness. 😂🕹 🍿
This movie is Eldorado
It's not really a remake. Similar, but different. Both had sheriffs, but Wayne was the sherrif in the first, with a drunken friend/deputy. Wayne was a gunfighter in the 2nd, helping a drunken sheriff that's not quite a friend. Both had different plots and sub-plots. Ricky Nelson in Rio was the heartthrob gunfighter, whereas James Caan was the heartthrob who couldn't hit the side of a barn.
"El Dorado is the second of three films directed by Hawks about a sheriff defending his office against belligerent outlaw elements, coming after Rio Bravo (1959) and before Rio Lobo (1970), both also starring Wayne in similar roles."
@@Sparky0627 Thanks for sharing, it is quite a a remake, 😂🕹
@@Sparky0627 And Rio Lobo had some similarities too. I read where it was intentional due to the popularity of Rio Bravo.
I always like this moment 0:29 where Macleod is the only one who notices Mississippi is clearly there for one of them
A quality of a top gunfighter, 😂
@@motionattached you notice Thorton does too or at least he notices him coming in
@@TheMan-je5xq They have to be vigilant to be on the top, 😂🕹
The Duke!
Great movie..
Would you like to walk out that door first? No. Then he walks out first.
😂😂
After calling them to tell them he's coming.
@@johnmc128 Thornton asked McLeod to go out for protection purpose, and McLeod called them also for protection purpose, 😂
Ironic that James Caan and Ed Asner next worked together 30 years later in Elf in 2007.
Thanks for sharing. This movie could be his first western movie debut, presented himself as a tough guy persona.
Got the VCR movie ? Anyway just wanted to say Christopher George did a great work and thks.
Christopher George was defamed with ugly scars on his face, which was not necessary at all.
James Caan and the actor who played Charlie Hagan recently passed away. Not sure if there are any living actors left from Eldorado.
Thanks for sharing that, James Caan was a great actor, and this film might establish him as a tough guy persona. 🕹
Charlie was played by Dean Smith, part of John Waynes group of stunt men. Dean was in several John Wayne westerns.
Dang, I didn't know James Caan passed away in July 2022. He was a great actor.
I believe that Michelle Carey might still be with us
@@georgehaze November 21, 2018 (age 75 years), RIP.

Trickory Let Drop
John a real American.
Draft dodging coward.
1:50 "Stand up Charlie, I'm curious to see how he does this"
That's kind of like say, "Do you mind dying so I can satisfy my curiosity?"
He didn't expect the knife,
This needs Ennino Morricone music.
His music is masterpiece.
And a Sergio Leone script and direction, otherwise, pretty good.
@@nigden1 It could be one of the best cast and team in the western movie.🍿🎉
this scene was cut to death. It should have said there is a Forth. then I am thorton
This is a 5-min clip for that particular scene, no room for the Fourth, and the Fourth is irrelevant for this scene.
@@motionattached Not really he said there are three men with that speed he's one , and ones dead the other is thorton, so he wouldn't need to ask.
@@johnmc128 The whole asking purpose is to elaborate the stature of Thornton, and that 4th figure might be relevant for the full movie, and totally relevant for this particular scene. 🕹😂
@@motionattached Lol exactly, read what I said again, in the clip he said only three men have that speed himself, one dead and Thorton so
@@johnmc128 😂🕹
Editing out bits & pieces when you could have left it alone which would have made the video a minute & a half longer.
The last edition was 5:23 long, I cut the conversation between these two fast gunfighters because it actually weakened the confrontation between these two. 😂🕹🍿🎉
@@motionattached I have seen the movie more times than I can count. You are wrong about your assessment.
Back when westerns were really westerns
That is so true.
“Milt & Pedro…our friends from the border…”
You can't watch the complete movie on cable. They cut out the one part of James Caaaaaan putting on a metal pot, wrapping up in a blanket, squinting his eyes and speaking chinee engrish to a thug at the door in a later scene.
Why? To be politically correct? That is not right.

Got to make Amends when wronged
Gostaria de assistir filme eu dourado em português
😂🕹🍿
The Duke Shouldnt took 3 of you ? plus #1 =4
Tjats from big jake not el dorado
Fantastic scene, but unfortunately the rest of the movie failed to meet the same standard.
That is a very good movie remark, 👍🕹
"Milt" did such a great job that he got to be "Whitey". (or was it the other way round?)
Chris George is very good in this. Not much screen time but he used it well.
As he said at the end of the movie, you didn't give me time. They shouldn't make cuts on his face.
You butchered this clip with little cuts
If you expect to put a 2-hour movie into a 5-minute clip without little cuts, that is not just a physical challenge, time is not on our side either, but the joy could always be on our side no matter it is 2 hours and 5 minutes. Or just search for "full movie" Thanks and enjoy! 😂🕹🍿.

Still holds true today…Cowards like An-tee-fah and the like always need more than one…”cause they’re no good.” -The Duke
Why not settle things with a spelling contest ?
Nobody gets hurt & everyone comes out a little smarter ?
The knife in the heart? He'd bleed and squirm for a while.
The Knife was too sharp, or the director didn't want the scene to be too messed up.
Or maybe it was scripted that way. Ole Charlie was told to die clean and instant like. 😬😎
@@jamesbrown9736 😂😂
It's still one of the best westerns ever!!!
Really slowly
The director would make sure the actions were not so fast to affect the visibility. 😂

A movie is all about giving audience some entertaining, which John Wayne did well one way or another, 🍿🎉

This is an idiotic video, all cut up. 😮
Marion was real tough…as long as he didn’t have to face Germans or Japanese. When his nation needed him, he turned tail.
Could you show your ignorance anymore? "Marion Robert Morrison used the name John Wayne professionally as an American actor. Born in 1907, he was 34 years old, married, and had several children in 1941."
He had a wife and children. He made patriotic movies during WW2.
I bet your hate filled personality extends to a lot more than John Wayne. It's even worse for you being ignorant and easily manipulated by gossip instead of facts.
False
John Wayne was registered for the selective service, and declared 4E, due to age, marital status, number of dependent children, and a previous injury.
Jown Wayne wrote to the Secretary of the Navy, requesting induction into the Navy, and assignment to combat film crews in the Pacific. He asked director John Ford to use his influence to get him into the Navy. John Ford used his friendship with the Secretary of the Navy to *prevent* John Wayne from being inducted.
In 1943 the U.S. government declared John Wayne's work in movies to be an invaluable boost to the war effort, and forbid any branch of the service to induct him.
In 1944, the Office Of Strategic Services offered John Wayne a position, however, the letter bearing the offer was delivered to his ex wife, and never forwarded.
So, no, he did not avoid the draft. He was never drafted. He actually asked to serve.
He was declined service due to numerous reasons including a very serious shoulder injury he suffered, I think from playing football.
General Douglas McArthur told Wayne that what he was doing in Hollywood was far greater for the war effort than anything he could be doing in uniform. Thats a pretty damn good endorsement. But speaking of cowards, when and where did you serve billy? I'll bet never and nowhere. It galls me how people who never served like to call out others who didn't serve.
Love this film..Would be.great.on utube
