Getting Jack White on the podcast would be completely great. He is such a renaissance man, and I think it would be great to hear him and Lex nerd out about guitar and technology
Please have Jack White on! It would be such an epic conversation. He just excels in so many fields. He's a multi instrumentalist, an interior designer, a brilliant businessman... he even engeeneers his own pedals. And I wouldn't be surprised if he was a fan of the show.
When I saw Jack white throw that diddly bow together with a piece of wood, a glass jar and string, it changed my relationship with the guitar and blues music.
i remember when i went specifically looking for this film and trying to watch it, and i swear it was so hard to come across! it was always something talking about the film, or something like that, but never the actual film. i eventually ended up being able to watch it, and honestly i remember my journey and the complications more than i do the film. i dont think i disliked it, i just didnt own it and have the chance to watch it a thousand times like i do every other movie i enjoy. i remember liking it tho, just no specifics other than Jack making that one guitar and playing it. anyways yeah, great film!
Hundred years later people will talk about Page and Hendrix like a Mozart . We are blessed being close that era in music. I've recently read that this bloody pandemic introduced much more people to rock music and to the guitar.
I watched this years ago and loved it so much because Jimmy Page is my fingerstyle acoustic guitar inspo. all I can really remember is this one part where Jack tries to teach him this really basic guitar riff and Jimmy looks at him like, "you know I'm Jimmy Page, right?" 😑
"This really basic guitar riff" you mean the most iconic and instantly recognizable riff of 21st century which he created? Of course he showed them his most famous riff. It's genius in its simplicity
They’re great guitarists. But they wouldn’t have presented the drastic differences in style that they were looking for which led them to the three guys they chose.
Either would have been good in place of the Edge, I found him the least musically interesting, but his experience during the Irish revolution was compelling.
Lex has an a uncanny ability to make something cool really uncool….. like this rock n roll documentary. It’s like watching a robot explain his enthusiasm for human made music.
You need to explore more and stop living in the past. Im an 80's kid and love all that music but there are still kick ass bands. You just have to find them.
@@Rufio1975 I admire you’re optimism, and agree. Its a slippery slope when one needs too dig pretty deep in order to find such talent, an more often then not the artist has little following, probably most likely due towards radio/big corps/ culture/ media saturated with mediocre music IMO

Crazy would be jimmy page
There's one reason that doc was successful. . .Jimmy Fucking Patrick Page.
Yup
For me it's always Jack in that movie
It really feels like a true literal passing of the torch
It's the most underviewed documentary of all time, and the lack of comments shows it
Amazing documentary.

Easily one of my favorite docs!
I love this Doco. Jack White making a guitar out of a plank of wood and some nails.
jack white on this podcast would be amazing

Who says you need to buy a guitar?
switch to bass, guys
your guitar playing will skyrocket after playing bass for 1-2 years 100% guarantee
Sorry bro too tired, would love to watch next time
👍
The Edge had no place alongside White and Paige.
The edge was way more influential than page. So why not?
@@Josh77600 😂
He’s one of the most innovative and recognizable players there’s been 🤷🏻
💎
Shoulda got john frusicante and slash

The guitar is one of the toughest instruments to learn.
Yeah i was confused why someone with such amatuer guitar skills as Jack White was in this documentary.
Jack does more for music then any of them. Thirdman records is creating and saving history.
At least we are not confused about your confusion, because you clearly don't know shit about music
Fire Tomlin
I don’t think Tull is being accurate here, from what I have read Page was a constant but the other two were replacements.
Edge was out of place.
Guitar God is dead:( long live regurgitated beats
