So we got a lot of cool new gameplay information for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, such as the first look at the hideout customization, as well as the vantage points, there were also new gameplay snippets, challenge minigames, and a lot more! Since shadows has been delayed, they did not release episode 2, although you can find it on youtube. So we have a lot to break down and talk about in this video.

Assassin's Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. So yeah, this episode leaked a month ago and i've had this video unlisted since. Wasn't sure when to upload it since a friend had their video taken down by Ubisoft, and also the AC News page on twitter also got their posts taken down. But given that a massive youtuber like Jorraptor has made a video showing some of the stuff in it, and also said in a livestream today that Ubisoft told him he could talk about it. I figured I should upload it today. But if this video gets removed. I WILL BE RANTING.
EDIT: Seems like the episode 2 video that TRITON person uploaded had his video taken down by Ubisoft.
Tell me this if Ubisoft were to sell their IP like say Splinter Cell, Watch Dogs and Assassins Creed to Sony would it be a good idea?

It really sucks, I feel like it’s even worse than when they replaced the hidden blade with Leonidas spear in Odyssey.
Things like the hidden blade, sync points, leap of faith and hood are all classic elements in any AC game, to remove such things completely is just lame.
Why even touch on something that’s perfectly fine the way it is and has been for the last 13 games? Just a fast travel point, that’s all it needs to be.
That's a bummer. I was gonna put down valhalla after playing for a few hours, then I got stoned and climbed up to a sync point. After that leap of faith, I was hooked somehow and put in over 180 hours into the game.

Honestly, besides the leveling system and not having the ability to synchronize, this looks amazing! The graphics are amazing, i love the animations but i do hope that the motion capture is good, as well as the face animations. All i really want is a good story and good gameplay, that is the least they could do!
I hope those stupid horse animations and mechanics are improved, Origins was torture

Graphics are 2018 the fact I can compare this to ghost of tsushima a 2020 game and say they look similar shows why it got so much hate. But again don't worry there's always the 1/10 that disagrees. Majority of people hate this and ubisoft now. So much so they were forced to delay their game to fix their bugs and issues raised in their trailer. They couldn't even hide it in their trailer which is embarrassing usually trailers are hyped up and meant to be the best. Combat still looks clunky and stuck in origin time line. Glad they're getting the hate from fans. We need a company to crash and burn to humble them to release finished products not half finished.
The settlement system looks really interesting and I'm excited to mess around with that and I'm also really intrigued about the seasons effecting the environment especially in the winter

AC fans are desperate for a hit. If the game is good and functional, I believe it will be well recieved, at least by the majority. If Unity was functional at launch, I think it would have been way better recieved, despite the mediocre story. It's like they say, first impressions matter. A lot.

Say what you want about Ubisoft Quebec, but they usually go the extra mile with their games (in terms of gameplay mechanics) and have an emphasis in FUN. Wich is all that matters tbh
Honestly, I didn't expect to enjoy Odyssey as much as I thought I would, I mean, I already have completed the game once and am going again. So yeah, I don't really hate Quebec as much
Don't worry this game will be a flop. Majority hate this game already. There's always the 2/10 that loves something that 8/10 hate.
Discovery tours are one of my favorite features of the newer AC games
100%, I did every tour in Origins. The historical settings of AC games are the big selling point for me, Discovery Tours are a make or break feature for me.

This episode didn't change much in my perspective because I'm interested how the stealth gameplay and storytelling play out. Though I must admit they managed to very much surprise me with some elements - mainly base-building.
Add this to the list: In winter, you can't hide under the water because it's frozen, and you could use the broken environment to your advantage.
By far my most anticipated AC & 2025 game like, ever implementing meaningful changes to gameplay mechanics and taking place within a setting most fitting for a Creed experience! Will be playing this on PS5 Pro and well, haters gonna hate ✔

I don't think it's a problem to compare games that have similar genres, settings etc. Competition is always going to exist, which is a good thing.

Hopefully Ubisofts wakes up and fixed the controversial parts of this game, cuz people are very upset, and it will not sell very well.
I have high hopes for Ac shadows, But with ubisoft lacking with a good budget I don't expect it to be a master piece. but so far it looks amazing 🙏

Although Sync Points were really good, I like how AC Shadow takes the eagle scouting mechanic from the other rpg games (which both inhibited exploration and was a bit immersion breaking imo) combining them with sync points to make a much better rpg system combining both mechanics into a coherrent experience
I think this game is going to be insane, although I do hope for another viking type game in the future. I loved Valhalla but I’ve done everything possible in the game but still want more Vikings assassins creeds 😭

my only thought about custom hideout is when the customizations is lack of items choice, it will make players boring rather than fun. if they want to o customize, they need to go full creativity. collect all items around the map and doing side quest for the hideout accessoris will increase the experience of custom hidedout

Visually and graphics wise, it looks amazing, same with gameplay mechanics.
But I still don’t know if I can oversee Ubi’s mistakes when it comes to depicting certain things that have offended the people of Japan. (like most likely using Nobunaga’s family crest in their game without the living family’s consent, clan symbols on banners being displayed incorrectly, putting the Buddhist statue in Todaiji temple which is legally protected from being used and depicted in any media, the half Torii gate… etc)
Granted, chances are I’m still going to play it, because Assassin’s Creed is a series close to my heart, being one of the first video game series’ I ever really got into as a kid, and I’ve been wanting this historical setting for ages…

Valhalla back then looked like a skyrim with parkour. This is looking too similar to Ghosts of Tsushima. Hopefully, its playability keeps the AC's essence.

All we wanted was an Asian male protagonist.
They gave us a black dude who wasn't even a samurai, killing Asians to a hip hop soundtrack.
I do think that if they had added an Asian man instead of this large Black man, they would have received a lot less hate. It has nothing to do with racism, but come on, this just looks strange-a large Black man among all those Japanese people who are all bowing down to him. Yeah, right.

How cool would it be for an elderly Shao Jun to make a appearance in this game? She would be in her late 70s-early 80s by this time so she could still be alive. She could tell Naoe the story of how she met the legendary Ezio Auditore and the advice he gave her.

Hideouts are a promising addition. It's an improvement on Valhalla's village upgrading system, which was elementary.

this really put into perspective how much potential there is for this game, and all the hate, although justified on some parts, isn’t completely deserved cuz they genuinely have a pretty great looking fresh take for the series. I was on the hating side of this game at first but when you keep making banger vids like this it’s hard to stay angry, keep up the good work!

I'm actually more hyped for the game! This developer diary was very necessary! I'm really looking forward to the hideout customization! The next diary should finally focus on character customization features. We still have yet to see any specifics on that. The game map looks awesome in terms of details and color palette. I think this may be one of the best AC titles yet so long as Ubisoft delivers solid storytelling and gameplay experience.
Thanks god I’m not getting this game, AC has lost its ways, history wise and gameplay wise, not to mention the way they treat the Japanese history. Good that Ubisoft is going down.
I really do not understand why since AC 3 it’s like they’ve been doing everything possible to avoid “assassin’s creed” within the AC games. I genuinely do not care about having *another* samurai game (just like AC4 was *another* pirate game, Valhalla was *another* Viking game). It’s like Ubisoft lost creativity the moment Desmond died
It's not their fault, I didn't like black flag that much because it had little to do with Assassins but Popularity swung in the direction of Vikings, Pirates, Samurai and Ninja. However this game has a lot of assassin's Creed stuff, the brotherhood is back and is central to the plot along with the Templars

I still have my concerns, but overall this is looking a lot better than I expected. Definitely not pre-order worthy, but maybe after a couple months to a year of release it could be a very good buy.
The cutscenes that are shown are looking hella crisp and nice. Glad to finally have enough of the horribly stiff animations of characters standing and talking to each other

The question about capes I’d say maybe,as capes where wore by samurai in history if Naoe can wear capes I doubt it, I think Naoe will have charms and Yasuke will have a cape or something like that as that’s similar to what they did in ac syndicate with belts and capes

Love the info and in depth look. I’m an old school creed fan so as beautiful as this game looks, not sure if this will be my favorite but I am bummed to hear no sync points. That just seems like a must have. At what point does it lose too much to still be considered assassins creed. I’m still excited!
It really depends on what you think AC should the most extreme was Odyssey and the most Assassin's Creed was Unity so I guess if it's more than Odyssey it's AC but if it's less than its not. Sync points revealed spots on the map since Ubisoft isn't doing that anymore since people keep mocking then for it even though the traditional tower system hasnt been used in nearly decade says it may be for the best. Just turn the camera around and imagine it still works 😂. I am excited too though

I think the realism looks insane I wish they would put in survival mode though. Making you feel like you are alive is important for a game this in depth already. Could you imagine if they had the survivor mode of far cry primal in this game. They said they were going to add perma death so they might as well add eating food or drinking water. I really hope they do. Those things alone would put this game above ghost simply through APPEAL to the audience with some they have never seen in a samurai game to date.

The game is actually good. It really depends on the player on how they absorb the game. Like some people may hate the new parkour system compared to unity and all that. Its just people get easily offended by its the story when in reality, it's just a game at the end of the day. If you hate the story, go watch a movie or read a book where you can enjoy it instead.
Wish they made the scouting a bit more inconvenient for immersion. They had a good explanation going with it where you get map information from scouts. But it feels too instant.
Ive been playing the series ever since the first game and ive always found viewpoints very annoying to do. Especially on repeat playthroughs. So thats a win for me

Let me correct you, The best map in all Ubisoft game is the map of "The Crew 2 Motorfest"
I don't know about this new mechanic replacing the sync points to be honest I don't like how it looks I just hope when I unlock all the points of interest they appear on my world map at least because if the only way to see the icons is by going to a certain vantage points I'm gonna have a bad time.
