When she showed the work done by Lakshmi, I was blown away. Indian artisans are the best. Many international brands get their embroidery work done in India, but Indian artists don't get credit.
Taj Mahal decorations on walls is product of Indian artisans. In machine age hand work has lost its popularity. We now live in age of machines gadgets.
After watching your video now I will not give away my chicken Kari saree and dresses tops I have collected through the years. They are precious and a tribute to workers.
Hi DesiGirl Traveller! I normally don't comment on videos but I wanted to say a HUGE thank you for uploading this. I am currently writing an essay about Chikankari for my Fashion Degree and this video was so helpful. I wanted others to also learn about this craft and everything that comes with it. It also helped that you spoke semi English - so thank you for that as well.
Hi Priyanka, Firstofall thankyou so much for walking us through the world of chikankari and the life artisans. I am thrilled and amazed to see the hardwork they have put in the making of one kurta/ Kurthi / lehengha. Hats off!!!!!
Honestly the best embroidery I have ever seen!! I have always loved chikankari work and loved to see the process and behind this. Thank you for making this video!!
Thankyou so much for a complete and detailed video on Chikankari work which I have admired and respected since my childhood. The artisans are hardworking and honest to their craft. The beauty of Chikankari lies in its celebration of the artists who are master craftsmen in the tradition of this business. Just loved the video. Keep posting more such videos on artisans of India. Thankyou🙏🙏🙏
Agree! If you have a platform like this, at least try using it for the betterment of these incredible artists. They pour their swat and blood into the products that benefit the sellers!! Such shame..
That is always been like that. How much farmer gets from what you pay for his product??? Middlemen and politicians suck blood they are the parasites. High GST tax is one example.. Who befits from it evident from the way politicians fight to win elections to become minister.
Beautiful video l have learnt so much from this video in Pakistan these clothes sell very expensive l give work to women in South Punjab but I pay them 8 to 10000 per piece l wish l could establish such a organisation like this thank you beta please keep making such video s love shehla auntie from lahore Pakistan
The original Chikankari style cannot be replicated in Pakistan, I've seen both even in India , thought same too, would be impossible to replicate in Pakistan.
Beautiful video. I love chikankari and artisans. These ladies are working so hard but somebody else is getting the credit. I have so many suits and sarees, l love them. Now l know why they are so expensive.
I love your show. You present the show is a very no nonsensical way. It feels very authentic. I hope you will be able to take us on a tour of all of India’s weaves and embroideries.

great initiative taken by you to show this kind of content as I have never seen other creator showcasing or even talking about what goes behind building a stunning outfit. All the efforts and main hardwork has been done by these artisans who don't earn that much, so I believe we should give more credit to these artisans who put so much hardwork into creating these garment

Hi priyanka you have done a great job by showing the hard work the artisans do for a chinkari kurti.i dint know so much time and hardwork is done behind one kurti , definitely by paying amount to artisans is worth for their hardwork and dedication. Appreciate your efforts to reach out to them and showing the world about them or else they are paid less and the someone else is making money. Thank you so much for this wonderful video.
Lovely video and so informative on various types of embroideries n the quantum of efforts n labour that goes in to make a beautiful piece is a thing to be marvel at !! Hats off to you priyanka n the Girls that are putting in so much of hard work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Am an ardent lover of chikankari and possess many such beautiful pieces !!

Love learning more about the art and crafts of India, and the people and food ❤. But could you please give us English translation as my Hindi is very very weak
49 k is not expensive considering the work done on it but the question is how much do the women get for their hard work.Peanuts probably and the angios and designers make a fat profit.
I dont think they are being paid much otherwise financial conditions of those workers would have changed but it doesn't seem so as per their living shown in the video
When she showed the work done by Lakshmi, I was blown away. Indian artisans are the best. Many international brands get their embroidery work done in India, but Indian artists don't get credit.
Even I was blown away when I saw that lehenga. The finished product didn’t look like it was done using just a needle and thread.
Taj Mahal decorations on walls is product of Indian artisans. In machine age hand work has lost its popularity. We now live in age of machines gadgets.
I love, love chikankari work. Huge respect for the artisans .
After watching your video now I will not give away my chicken Kari saree and dresses tops I have collected through the years. They are precious and a tribute to workers.

You should have asked about how much an artisan gets for a piece...I'm sure..not even one fourth of the total selling price
Agree! If you have a platform like this, at least try using it for the betterment of these incredible artists. They pour their swat and blood into the products that benefit the sellers!! Such shame..
