I had an idea of making a similar channel, but this is so much better than I could have ever achieved! Keep up the good work and I hope to see much more from your channel!
@@JeffScroggin the internals of the 96 model differ from those in the 92 version. I had the chance to fix up a unit, but, unfortunately, I didn't think about filming the mixers back then. I spotted a better PCB layout in the power supply and different linear regulators. I didn't go deeper since it was a quick fix. I really wish I could get another one for repair.
Got an old xone 92 with the silver faceplate. My left filter section is all good but the right filter section has a huge pop everytime I activate/ deactivate it (also when volume is off). Do you have a solution for it. Many says PSU problem but I changed mine already bc I bought it with damaged PSU and changed it. Would love to receive some opinions.
I'd like to see you disassemble the Denon DJ X1850 mixer. It seems like a great alternative to Pioneer mixers, but I constantly read about how the knobs and faders malfunction or become extremely loose, so I've been curious about the internal build quality. Anywho, looking forward to more videos from you!
Fantastic video. Thank you very much; as an engineer with a background in electronics this was very well received and a commend your production. May I ask where the Xone 96 video is? Lol was gonna buy a 92 but this video’s making me reconsider 👀
Lovely content, very much appreciated taking your time and sharing all this information with us 🙏 Any chance you have the results of THD vs Full Frecuency range of the Xone 92 ? Like the one you did for the Rane ? Keep up the good work, cheers from Mexico
Hello, i will gladly publish the reuslts of THD vs frequency of every mixer but i don't want to do it now, because as i said in the Rane video my equipment is not capable of giving very precise results and i want to be precise. Maybe in the future i will find the funds to buy a legit measurement device. So far i'm able to do super precise THD @ 1kHz.
For this application it's important to use low ESR (low impedance) type. I also recommend buying caps from good brands like Panasonic, Nichicon, Rubycon, Vishay, Wurth etc.
@@TheDjed19 i can't answer your question cause the quality of sound is subjective. If you are looking for transparency (lack of color) look for low THD mixers. Many people consider high THD mixers better quality and they like the dirt they offer. This channel provides answers to questions that are possible to answer in objective way, your questions are about subjective perception of sound.
Fully passive phono preamps have some problems, that active sollutions don't have. Passive preamps force you to set the compromise between maintaining a sensible headroom and keeping the signal far from the noise floor. Xone 92 phono preamp is a fully passive 2 stage sollution and the main issue with it is that it has just lower gain compared to other ones. I published a fix on my channel, that boosts the gain. The mod sacrifices headroom for better SNR, but it's still sensible and it keeps you safe from signal clipping. This problem is deeply covered in Douglas Self book called "Small Signal Audio Design".

The perfect channel! Love it! Waiting for that Xone 96 video!
Following the channel and also await the xone 96!
I always watch with maximum curiosity your videos and I’m happy to assign this information. Thank you and keep up the great work! ❤
Please keep making this videos. Love it so much!
I agree
I love your videos! I'd love to see inside a mastersounds mixer at some point!
Thank you for this unity channel full of great knowledge, perfectly explained.
Thank you for another informative video.
I really love the "warm" sound of A&H Xone series
i love this
My favorite channel… finally…. Finally 😂
Thank you thie video is very good, hope to see other mixers here like xone 96
Me encanto el video , muchos exitos con el canal .saludos
Dzięki dobra recka, jak zawsze!
Thank you for the video. They just released an updated version! Hope to see your breakdown of that.
Cool video! I’d love to see the 96 video. I wonder if the distortion characteristics and “cleanness” were improved in the new mixer.

Love these videos. By chance, do you know which illuminated cue switches (brand/model/part no.) MasterSounds fit to their Radius 2 dj mixers?
Thank you. Regarding your question - no, i hope to make a Radius video some day.
I cant wait for the Xone 96 video.

There is no Xone 96 video (yet i hope).
I hate the fader curves - I wish they were linear. Is it easy to change this?
doable
@@mixersinside how is this doable? My Rodec is the same, wish it was more linear
@@rhysdavies9163 once i do this mod i will post it as a video - i don't want to explain it in the comments. Cheers.

@@mixersinside thanks, I am after getting the PSU changed three time already and I might try just change these this time to save money
This video is pure gold when you want to fix a Xone 92 PSU: th-cam.com/video/2SrU1_PtL08/w-d-xo.html
I would beg to differ on the "easy to service" aspect 😉thanks for the video!
One comment on the A&H mixer .....why the make it so diffcult to change the jumpers ......... make a part on the underside which can reach easy.
Does this sound better than high end rotary?
@@TheDjed19 what does "better" mean?
Better in the sense of pristine clear sound and quality.
