You bled the oil pump but you need to do more than that, you need to run the engine on pre-mix whilst the pump pushes the oil up the oil pipes, you could run it for 20 minutes like this or you can manually hold the pump on max flow so that the pipes fill up alot quicker. If you ran it on straight petrol then you won't have done the bores, pistons or rings any good at all.
You are correct. That is indeed what I did. Running on premix at startup , disconnecting the lines, pulling the throttle cable and waited for the lines to purge. Thanks for the comment.

That tickover sound takes me right back to April 1982 when I first kicked over my white and red striped 350lc.
