There's just something about her that makes her more special than the other girls in the game, ironically enough she's the most "plain" out of them. Well according to the timeline after Link got back from his journey in Majoras Mask he joined the Hylian Military for a while, where while he was there he got one of his eyes cutted out. After leaving the military He took Mallon, the ranchers and some Hylians to scape from the Hylian-Gerudo war conflict. That's when they got together, then builded a ranch and village in the forest. Then After some years they live in this village called gordon with their kids happily. 100 years passed and the Link from Twilight Princess is the decendant of Link and Mallon, in other words The grandson of them.
You know in BOTW Lon Lon ranches ruins can be found and I think it’d be nice to see it rebuilt in BOTW 2 with this song playing or something similar, it’d also be nice to see Malon again.
When I was younger, I had this on an old iPod Nano my mom had handed down to me. Used to hook it up the speaker/charger and play it on loop to help me sleep.
I first heard this version of the song in a Best Nintendo 64 Games video many years ago, either in the very late 2000s or the very early 2010s. And since I was just starting to get into TH-cam at the time, this version of Lon Lon Ranch brought back some good memories and is making me feel nostalgic.

I believe that Link and Malon married and had children and Twilight Princess Link is a descendant of them. If you pay attention to Twilight Princess's Hyrule Field at night, you can hear Malon's spirit singing for Link.
In TP you also get to fight Ocarina Link as a skeleton in which he teaches you moves that he failed to teach his children when he was alive (probably meaning someone killed him before he could do that)
Never even played OoT I only became a Zelda theme on Xmas this year with BotW but still....this theme both original and this....it is so emotional and amazing
