Lovely to see you back Adele! I am not struggling with storage as much as not having any creative mojo at all! Went back to work 8 weeks ago after a year on maternity leave, so new routine with a 13 month old and we have been ill lots already. My crafty mojo is 0% very sad about it. Have you experienced this? Any tips would be appreciated!
Ooo that’s a tricky adjustment time! I definitely have had that feeling! Next voiceover I do on this channel we’ll have a chat about it. It’s so hard to find mojo after a major life change and a “new normal” life routine. The one thing that really helped me after Vi was born was making mini kits because I felt so mentally drained at the end of the day when I had a little time to craft, that making decisions about what to use on a page we’re just too overwhelming. Something like a mini Couch Scrapping Kit or a mini diy embellishment kit that you can grab and do for 10-15 mins might be useful? I also enjoyed having a couple of different easy projects that I could do and feel like I’ve been crafty without making a giant mess to clean up (because there’s already enough baby mess to deal with). I had a little junk journal travelers notebook where I hand lettered quotes in that I kept next to the couch and would do a few nights a week for 5-10 mins. It helped get my mojo back to then try bigger projects later. I’ll talk more in the next vid, thanks for your question! I’m super interested in chatting more about this if you couldn’t tell by this ramble haha!
Hi Adele, I'm glad you're back! I love almost everything you do. My challenge for you is, make a mini-album. Not a journal but a real mini-album. I don't think I've ever seen you do that 😍
So happy to have an Adele video to watch while waiting for trick or treaters!! Currently, my biggest craft organization issue is with Nova Color acrylic paints. I've got a dozen 4 oz jars that I haven't found a place for. The solution will come to me at some point.
I was so excited to see a new video from you! I’ve missed you! I’m sorry about all the medical stuff you & your family having going thru. I’m trying to recover from pleurisy & it’s been hard. Your videos make me happy! Have fun on your anniversary trip💕
Glad you're back. Missed your videos. My biggest issue with my crafts, aside from the fact that I still haven't moved into my new craft space,is my craft paint organization. I have my paints on the bottom level of a rolling cart. I thought it was a good idea when I first got it,but it is not. Its so difficult to access them, and they are out of order, and it stresses me out. Luckily, I just acquired a new set of racks that will attach to the side of my book shelf where I can store them neatly and conveniently. 👍🏾❤️
Awesome! Welcome back. I'm struggling with the fact that I'm in a temporary space. But before that, it was mementos/random printed photos that caused me the most grief
I was thinking about you yesterday and hoping you were ok. I knew you were moving and thought perhaps it was just taking longer to settle. Glad you’re back and your surgery was a success, although it sounds SUPER painful ❤
It’s be a big year this year with a bunch of medical things going on for me and my side of the fam which has paused my TH-cam filming drastically but hopefulllllly 🤞🏻 we’re all in the clear now and there’s no more medical emergencies! Thanks for tuning in! 😊
We’re heading to Melbourne and staying in a really cool arty hotel, I can’t wait! Looking forward to going to some art galleries and a board games night while we’re down there.
Yay! You’re back!! Lol I had to laugh when you said take a photo of a moment of quiet- 3 neurodivergent children and a new ADHD diagnosis for myself = not a lot of calm atm lmao. But I did Love your suggestions. I will definitely find something to put in my album.
Hahaha same here! I think half of our house has ADHD (the boys) and the other half has the ‘tism (the girls) so calmness is rare! 😂 Moments of calm are worth documenting here haha. Right now we’re having a rare one - Vi is watching her hyper fixation movie Frozen silently lying on me and Arch has come home from the playground, all sensory seekered out and is building Lego… we’ll see how long the quietness lasts! (It also means I can have a moment to write back to comments hehe). Congrats on your new diagnosis, such a time of adjustment for you! Do you feel a sense of ease now knowing the diagnosis? I’ve been thinking a lot about looking at an autism diagnosis next year for me but I don’t know if I should with my age.
@@Inkiequill honestly, I was a lot like you in the sense that I wasn’t sure if seeking a diagnosis was worth it at my age. I literally asked the boys Psychologist what he thought lol. It has been a very good thing though. The biggest thing I found is I do feel better with myself. Knowing the things I’m struggling with aren’t me being lazy or a bad parent etc And that has made a huge difference. Accepting how my brain works and what I need is probably what has come out of understanding my diagnosis most. It’s also been great because it has helped me explain to my son, his diagnosis. Especially when he gets self-conscious. Knowing that we have this in common. And knowing that I can fully empathise with what’s happening in his brain to. I understand. It’s funny because we are so very similar. Lol I call our house the alphabet house LOL our eldest was our introduction to the world of neuro divergent lol. And now 16 years later with the recent diagnosis of my own and a whole new set of letters for his little sister, it’s definitely an adventure lol. Even after all these years, I’m still learning new things all the time.
And also, it’s becoming very common for adults to have later diagnoses in life. And a lot of it stems from seeing things about ourselves when our children are going through the diagnostic process. So you’re most definitely aren’t alone.
Love your chatty videos. I fell of the PL wagon a few years back due to photo printing issues. I chose the cutest album, but it turned out that the format in the pockets were not compatible with printed sizes. Very annoying and a show stopper as it thrn required a lot of calculations and planning to print. However, your videos makes me want to get back into PL. Sticker storsge has been a pain for me, too, and I have been a sticker hoarder for 50 years. 😱 Will adopt your trick of keeping all the using up sheets in one place!
I love your videos! I'm also neurodivergent like your kids!! Sorry if it's too personal but what do they have/they do that's unique? I've got a few but I didn't know any other autistic kids growing up and so always felt a bit left out. Glad you're so awesome with their needs!
They are total opposites in every sense which makes it really chaotic in our house because one kid is often annoyed sensory wise by the other 😬 Arch has ADHD combined type and loves noise, speed, talking non stop, sensory seeking, jumping and leaping. He is a lovely bunch of chaos hehe. Violet is the opposite and loves silence, stillness, order, routine and has a lot of sensory avoidance. We’re booked into a paediatrician to look into Autism but the earliest we could get in is August next year!! 😮 They are total opposites in their sensory needs so it’s a bit hard to balance at home on weekends. I’m thinking of looking into an autism diagnosis for myself next year (it’s just so so expensive 🫠) and I felt the same growing up. I had two male friends at school who definitely were autistic but I know girls present differently. Thanks for watching and being an awesome member of the neurodivergent club 😊❤
Hi Adele, im in a similar boat as you in terms of feeling like im never going to catch up, im also doing 2022,2023,2024, at the same time and still have to catch up to finish albums as far back as 2010!! what i struggle with is memory and fibro fog doesnt help! when i have photos i love and want to include and would love to have lots of journalling but cant remember what was going on?! what do you write about when you feel like you cant remember what was happening ?
