I bought a used Husqvarna z5424 with 181 hours for $1200.00. Mine still works perfectly. Lowes has teenagers put them together so I feel those problems are on Lowes.
To be honest, my cousin is a Husqvarna dealer. He wanted near $5K for a Z254 F. I went on the 'net and got it for $3100. Needless to say, he didn't want to service it. So I have learned much about this model and all your gripes are fixable. After shipping all the way from Ohio, I had to do minor adjustments, but after 3 yrs., I couldn't ask for a better performing tractor. Sorry you were dissatisfied!
Hate that you got a bad mower. ive had mine over 2 years, no issue at all. I always buy from a actual dealer because places like Lowes or Home depot have to assemble a lot of it in store and those guys are not certified in that field. Never buy something like that from them. Use a authorized dealer next time. Those mowers are very dependable. One of the best out there
@@supermanclarkkentsr4667 I bought this kind of mower from a guy like this one. Deck belt broke on it at 60hrs, he didn’t want to deal with it. I paid $1200 for basically new mower. Put it new belt, tighten the pulley and mower runs like a champ. Guys like him ( pencil pushers) give a bad name for a great equipment
Just bought one of these today 5/2/24. Pick it up tomorrow. Needless to say, I’ve watched countless videos to to try and learn and familiarize myself with the machine. Out of all the videos I’ve seen. Only a few were bad reviews and all 3 were bought at Lowe’s. Not a dealer. I bought mine from a local mom and pop dealer. They can’t afford to sell crap like Lowe’s and Home Depot does.
bought one 2 days ago, from Lowes cut about 2 acres of 2 foot tall grass and weeds, it does great. I am impressed. I have the 54 inch deck, have 5 acres to cut. the key was left on with it sitting in front of store and the battery was dead but I charged it back up quick. The drive belt was off a pulley but I figured that out quick and got it going.
I bought mine through a dealer, and they are doing what's right and making the corrections. Part of the problem was a broken tracking bolt (cross-threaded and tracking could not be adjusted - same as this guy) I'm having battery drain issues as well, have to jump start it after it sitting two days or more. Tires are like little round spiked diamonds and cut mud holes all over the yard. Many reviews said this is a fast mower...I think they've never been on a commercial one. My other mower is a Hustler Super Z and will cut at about 15 mph. This Husky barely moves at walking speed w/o the deck running. Not too happy for having spent over $3000!!
I got that same mower 1 month ago. Mowed 2 acres twice. Not one single problem. Got it from Lowe’s. I understood the 30 day bit so I gave it a thorough workout. The only thing I can’t figure out is how to register it with Husqvarna.
My 254F is coming up on three years. I did just have a problem with the pulley and because I had bumper to bumper warranty from Husqvarna, my local dealer took care of it, for free. Even though I bought it at Lowe's Husqvarna stood by the warranty. No concerns here, I like it better than my old john deere
My Husqvarna is very nice. You evidently got a bad mower or bad delivery guys. I picked mine up myself. Tightened bolts etc. as I didn't trust anyone else no matter how good they are. Too bad as Husky is good. You were burnt, but don't give up on Husqvarna completely.
I keep looking at other mowers, but my Exmark with a Kawasaki is a 2003 model and you cannot kill it. One fuel pump, two PTO switches, one set of deck bearings, and a battery about every 3-4 years. It’s old, it’s ugly, and the best mower I’ve ever owned!
Holy crap! I just bought one today to replace a Cub Cadet. The Kohler engine had a totally under-sized air filter. Dirt and debris would simply go around a brand-new filter. Hopefully these issues have been resolved by now.
I bought one from Murdochs because they have their own repair center. The local store upon assembley didn't set the steering or tracking properly so it veered to the right and the handles were mialigned so I did it. I better check the whole thing out just to see if the belt is wonky. 🙃
The advantage of buying from the box stores is that if you don't like it the first 30 days, you take it back and get your money back. Dealers tell you that "it's yours now" as soon as you accept delivery.
I’ve had mine (same model) for going on 4 years and never had a problem. I hate that you’ve had a bad experience but I think the Lowe’s you bought it from could be the blame here. I’m sure they put it together at the store. Once again mine has performed extremely well.
All warrantees for the zero turn mower‘s are always from the factory, where you have to take it to an authorized service center. I think that you must have misunderstood the worry free mowing, I don’t believe it was three years returnable at Lowe’s. Most, if not all of the big box stores give a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, then after that the warranty must be provided through the manufacturer. It sounds to me like you squeezed them by the balls so tight that they had no choice but to take the loss and give you another mower.
for the type of grass you have I don't think a 3100 tractor is for that especially if you want to cut that grass at 10 mph, you need to spend more than 3100 for a tractor, you have the basic model what can you expect,
Sorry no disrespect. But your faulting the machine . When in facts it was the person that put the machine together I bought mine used with simple over time use. Issues made repairs no parts needed the thing is a beast
Sorry , I thought I had responded to you they did replace the machine this one has twice the power and no issues the first machine did in fact have a bad short somewhere in the harness along with multiple other issues but it almost a month and a half to get the new one

And they cant get in touch with their own delivery company while I was there in person they couldnt get a hold of them. I canceled there and got my money back.
I bought mine at Sears and it has been horrible and I can't state that enough. I have a 54 inch with a Kohler Mower. The cut is horrible and it has electrical problems.

They sold me a 3 year warranty without telling me Husqvarna already covered it...belts are NOT covered nor do they puck it up...3 belts at $75 PER BELT and 2 weeks later I was losing it. Lowes couldn't care less. I finally I contacted upper management at Husqvarna and they contacted the shop and had it picked up. Turns out the spindle was bad... hasn't thrown a belt since.
