After only ever watching reruns on tv…I finally got the complete series on dvd matching what is shown on this video.
You're not going to belive what I heard recently in 2024 on December 17th of this year Sony is finally for blu ray collects they are releasing Seinfeld complete series on blu ray and 4k ultra HD blu ray box sets
Larry David left for the last two seasons actually, but did come back for the last episode (which everyone then hated). ;)

I don't think I've ever watched the entire series run back to back, I really need to pick up the complete set and do that.
For those watching current day, this DVD boxset has been cost-cut in an unfortunate way. All the discs are now crammed in one giant plastic box, with stacked discs (2 or 3 per spindle!) that overlap too. No photographs, artwork or episode synopsis either. My 80's Twilight Zone DVD boxset came like this, and makes the discs hard to acess and prone to scratches even during shipping. Glad I have the cardboard Seinfeld boxset reviewed here!
FYI - The individual season boxset had additional artwork you forgot to mention. On the inside of each slim case, is a scene from show (e.g. Jerry's apartment, the Monk's restaurant, George's parent's living room, the Soup Nazi's store, etc). There's also a foldout paper guide with each season, redundantly listing episode titles and which discs they're on, along with very detailed production notes. Neither are anything you'd miss though, I was happy save a huge amount of shelf space without these little frivolous extras.

Thankfully the 80s Twilight Zone set I had, while still in the large plastic case, had individual trays for the discs. EDIT: SORT OF - it's individual trays, two overlapping per "page." Still better than stacking, but yeah. At least it does save on shelf space. I did a video about that and my Blu-ray set of the original a while back.
Oh yes! I did forget that bit about the insert art, to be fair it's been ages since I owned any of the individual season sets.
And love the username - I still have my Apple IIc, really wanted to upgrade to the IIgs but it seems like it came and went so fast, then it was just Mac all day long.

@@zaranyzerak My parents absolutely LOVE this TV series, and I gave them DVDs of each season for Christmas, with plastic cases instead of paper sleeves, and my parents thanked me for giving them something they enjoy watching. I also gave my brother some Spiderman DVDs (also released by Sony Pictures) for Christmas since he is a fan of superheroes. And I got myself a few Dragon Tales DVDs, which Dragon Tales, much like Seinfeld is also released by Sony Pictures. Both Seinfeld and Dragon Tales were shows made by Columbia TriStar Television, with Seinfeld produced by Castle Rock Entertainment, and Dragon Tales produced by Sesame Workshop.
I have the Seasons Separately so I just came to see what the complete series dvd looks like.

I had seasons 1-3 for a long time and today I picked up rest of them from a flea market, 3,50€ each
Now it plays on tv weekdays 1100pm/1200am weekends 8pm/11pm

These complete series sets are awesome in terms of saving space, compared to the individual releases, but I hate those paper sleeves, which always seem to accompany most complete series sets. Why not slimmer plastic DVD cases? that seems to be the way to go, after they end the initial release cycle
I agree like the Three's Company box set for example which like the slim cases but in combo packs by 2 seasons
Hi Zeranyzerak I am very sure the original box set of Seinfeld is still available to buy on JB Hifi site in Australia for about $95.00.
That would be a Region 4 PAL version though, I would want the Region 1 NTSC version without the PAL speed-up/cross-standards conversion issues.
I'd like them to release it in case packaging that makes it easier to take out the discs. Like a big plastic case.
Oh yeah, the world needs more plastic packaging pollution so you can get your gigantic hog sausage fingers onto those Seinfeld DVDs that much quickerr

Yes, of course. Many, many times.
The collection looks fine. But I've been burned once of Criminal Minds collection, that also was in paper covers. All dvd in that box came to me with scratches, so I returned it to the web store.
Even if it was sold in a local store, I wouldn't buy it until I saw the disc, one by one. Paper covers should never been used.

I've seen a few episodes, really want to see more of it. One of these days I'll grab the DVD sets.
I haven't picked it up on Blu-ray yet, but I've seen it. I really need to pick it up one of these days, I've got all the other seasons.

I disagree. It should be remastered from the original film to fit modern televisions.
@@superbird6176 not really needed for this show considering its a sit com taking place on the same few sets most of the time. Not to mention cropping issues whenever they transfer over

Anything is possible. There has been an HD version showing on TV for a while now, but the image is severely cropped to 16:9. As long as it's in the original 4:3 aspect ratio, I would love a Blu-ray set of this.
