    Whirlpool didn't ruin anything. Those companies simply couldn't compete anymore and lost their business. Wasn't Whirlpool fault any of those companies went out of business.

    My 2011 inglis(whirlpool canada) is probably the last of the direct drives. It has a tub suspension and brake but its a reduced water washer. meaning for the wash cycle it uses 1/4 less water then normal then for rinse it uses 3/4 less water then normal no matter what the cycle the water level is set to small for rinse. Finally replaced it with a speed queen and put the inglis in the shed to act as a shop washer.

    I miss Direct drive whirlpools. My 21 year old kenmore is still kicking ass to this day!

      whirlpools and kenmore use to be the same sears contracted whirlpool just different designed panels I just finally got an earlier version of one of these as a kenmore fixed it had a wobbly tub when it went into spin it got a 2nd handed transmission she is back to working like a new one like this model but it done the balancing right before each spin but it didn't when it filled each time I gad a GE that sensed each load before it went into agitation as long as it works right I do not care

      I agree. The cycle takes too long, and the washer itself is pretty small.

    I personally think load sensors are useless. I've seen washers without them work just fine.

    they are still turning over but faster with a dual or tripple action kenmore agitator whirlpool and kenmores parts were about the same for some of the models and were compatible with each other

    doesn't look like a very good washing action as compared to an old maytag or speed queen also sounds and looks very cheaply made I know this is an economy machine but I remember a time when even the economy machines were built better than this piece thanks whirlpool for ruining many once good brands...

    • @thebranman7516
      @thebranman7516 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jon Homrich the whirlpool direct drives pre-2010 were awesome, it's actually the government that ruined our laundry with their stupid water regulation

    • @jhomrich89
      @jhomrich89 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      thebranman true my mom has a 2009 Kenmore washer and dryer set that works well. but I'm saying that this machine sounds like it's poorly made and the wash action of the agitator doesn't look like it does that good of a job of cleaning.

    This is where it all fell apart. The belt drive machines just can't do what the direct drives did. That yellow article in particular didn't see the best washing action it ever had.

    • @DaSamNudge
      @DaSamNudge  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah these belt drive washers don't do as good of a job as direct drives or the older belt drive ones like that Magic Chef one I have videos on, but it still beats the HE ones with the impeller instead of an agitator that provides "deeper cleaning that is gentler on the cloths" lol

    • @jaykay18
      @jaykay18 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I'm in full agreement there! I've seen the Magic Chef videos you have. It just does its thing. Decent performance, just plain does the job without any "load sensing" or "load balancing acts"!

    • @DaSamNudge
      @DaSamNudge  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol yeah the load sensing thing is only there because they don't use real suspension anymore, but at least it balances decentish

    • @DaSamNudge
      @DaSamNudge  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you look closely when this machine is filling, you can see the basket dropping due to the weight

    • @jaykay18
      @jaykay18 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Right, when they got rid of the suspension the machine has to do all sorts of wacky things. I often look back at how stuff used to be made, and then look at the crap they put out now. The really scary part is 30 years from now it will be of even poorer quality.
