Long-Tail Pair in general terms

- I explain the long-tail pair as a general concept as described in Alan Dower Blumlein's patent. The long-tail resistor basically keeps the triode operation within 1% of the design point by making the current through the tube dependent on the long-tail resistor and not the characteristics of the tube (valve).

This goes deep! Thanks.
Great explanation of the Long Tailed-Pair Jim
It is truly an honor to receive a kind comment from Alan's grandson. You also have been blessed with a great legacy.
@@deepblueharp Thank you for your video Jim. He truly was very special and what a shame he didn't have the opportunity to live longer and bring even more to our lives...
Patent clerk had to put on the ole glasses to see the - not so evident node on the long tail
part.
A Well done on the production!

A prototype is not needed for a Patent. The rule is ''constructive demonstration'' of the invention's novelty, and its viability as an improvement to existing art. At that point, it's one engineer talking to another.
That's the way it is *now*. The description given is true for the time discussed.
