I am relatively new to your channel - just a few months but I love your videos! I am watching in Ireland and drooling over the food you folks show. Thank you for working so hard to make such well edited and entertaining videos 😊 Also, I hope it’s not rude to mention but Felix you are looking a lot slimmer recently! Please make sure to take care of yourselves. Sending love from Ireland 🍀
Soooo glad you featured Hong Kong Noodle House! We’ve been going there for the tossed noodles since before COVID. Our go to place for great noodles and won ton! And thanks for the heads up on the other spots! 👍🏼
So many cheap but yummy eats! I grew up with my parents pan frying spam and eggs as well and it was so good! Yes, definitely good memories of childhood. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Monday Foodie Ohana! Thanks for looking out for the peeps and our wallets during this time of year. You guys are so thoughtful while you make us super hungry. Love you Foodie Ohana! 🤙🏽❤️🍜🦆🥟🌴
Hi Amanda and Felix. How do you and Felix keep your slim figures with all the yummy food you eat? Gracie’s Drive-In was one of my favorites. Thank you again for taking us along. Love and blessings. 💖💖🙏🙏🎄🎄🎄❄️❄️💖💖
Another great Cheap Eats episode! I remember eating at Graceʻs (we called it "Gracieʻs") when it was a lunch wagon parked across the street from my high school, and itʻs been a favorite since it opened at that other spot on Beretania St. near Isenberg, and of course, at the place next to Times Supermarket where it is now. Iʻve haventʻ been there for several years (before the pandemic), but I noticed another thing missing from the mini plate is the kim chee. Or have they stopped giving that now? I always order the regular plate with one rice, three-kind salad, which includes the two vegetable and mac salad. (They used to give more before they put it in those little paper cups.) And I have lots of leftovers for another meal. Love the mochiko chicken, too.
"Cheap eats" gets more and more expensive, compared to the old days! 😆 But thanks for finding great places and sharing with your Foodie Ohana! Next time I'm in Chinese Cultural Plaza I have to check those places out! Not to mention New Queen BBQ right down the street. Grace's plate lunch sure brings back the college days. Oh, and I didn't spot Da Vonz till you mentioned it, LOL! (One more comment: that Open Market you spotted in CCP has pretty good veg for sale. Their choy sum is super clean, no big stalks, and last for weeks in the fridge, unlike the ones you buy in the supermarket which are old with flowers on them, and go bad quickly! But just remember, cash only.)
Watching you guys eat noodles made me hungry. So of course I had to make me a bowl of ramen! Aurora chicken katsu and loco Moco looks so good I think I'll go Grace's in next round!
Thank You Amanda and Filex. Hong Kong Noodle looks Delicious. That Strawberry Matcha sure looks Yummy. so appreciate You two Love and GOD Bless You Both Aloha Always Sister Chrissy 💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜
Right next door is Revive my go to for Açaí Bowl for under $10,Ham/Cheese/Pickled Veggies sandwich on a Croissant and Sandy’s Cafe for a $15 for Char Siu with rice! Thank Amanda & Felix for another Amazing and Winnahaz video as ALWAYS! New Queens BBQ Deluxe plate with Fried Rice is Unreal and their menu is Amazing!!
great video. old skool kine things.... Cannot believe Hong Kong Noodle house still kicking. used to go there a lot back in the early 80's. need to go back and check them out. Graces..Chicken Katsu gravy all over is the my go too. no go too early, sometimes it seems you get the left over katsu from the day before.
New Queen Barbecue is ono! Go there all the time. Garlic chicken is my absolute fav. Everything I've tried has been really good. Their mac salad and breakfast combo are standouts. Great local spot and reasonable. Amanda & Felix - you should do a meet and greet sometime. Would be fun to meet you guys.
Won ton noodle soup looked so good. Great to see you can still find good prices around town. Next cheap eats episode, can you check out Oh My Grill? They opened in Pearl City close to Foodland Farms (was La Tour Cafe). Chicken Katsu is $9.99. Discount if paying in cash. Also NY steak is $9.99 special during certain hours.
Graces Inns always been my favorite Chicken Katsu with mac and asian, no rice extra chow fun. Haven't gone there in years though. Used to go all the time when they was in Waimalu
Aloha Everybody 💯 🤙 😎 Budget Eating is a must. I miss Shirokiya. Buying food items at different food spots at a great price and dollar beers. Or was it 2 dollars 🤔
It’s been a long time since I’ve been back to Hawaii. I used to live there years ago. But, I loved going to Ala Moana Beach park concession stand for lunch sometimes. Do the beach parks still serve food? The beef curry was the best at Ala Moana! Maybe do an episode of all beach park concession food? Love your videos and content! ❤
Thanks for the cheap eats, I would definitely get the chow fun & beef stewy plate! Why don't you guys use a spoon and fork? It's much more efficient, the rice doesn't fall through and you get more per scoop.
I always liked that about Grace's, having the Chow Fun beneath the meat is really great! One place that I like their Chicken Katsu is L&L at the Kamehameha Shopping Center. It's actually better than some of the other L&L's that I've been to. The chicken was tender and batter wasn't too overly crunchy...nice.
If you do a katsu vid, im curious to see if Kents drive inn (near royal kitchen) still has some bomb katsu. I used to always eat there growing up. Love your guys videos!!!
Umm yeah! We need that Best Chicken Katsu videos..make it regional to different parts of the island and than battle those against each other in a final video. My personal go-tos for a quick meal are Waianae’s BBQ Kai and Liliha’s L&L. (My parents live in different parts of the island😅)
Aloha Amanda and felix, Thanks for sharing your cheap eats. When you were at Chinese Culture Center I thought for sure you were going to KENT'S DRIVE inn, they got great prices & delicious plates, my favorite is the Chicken black bean with Chow fun as my Starch. Love me some New Queens Barbecue yummy. Grace's on Beretania was my go to place in the late 1970's. With da very fresh Kim chi.lol
Hi guys. Felix you asked about doing a Kastu episode. I’m in Australia and just wondering if in Hawaii you guys specialise in Katsu Curry? Would love to see you do a few of them. Thanks
When I was sixteen I got into a huge accident head on collision that totaled the car and I had just gotten Grace's Chicken Katsu. My only thought just as I was impacting was to throw my hand out to the passenger seat to protect my Chicken Katsu.
@@AmandaFelixEats I was okay, which was nuts considering the damage, but you know what was my first thought once the car stopped? I saw my Grace's chicken katsu on the floor and was like "oh no, my chicken katsu" 😂😂
Always wonder about New Queen Barbeque, as it's right down the street from where my daughter lives. Might have to walk down there for a little breakfast next week or maybe a plate lunch! Question, what's the difference between luncheon meat and SPAM?
The best chicken katsu ever….and when I say ever it’s island wide…kalihi bbq get the best chicken katsu and they give you a lot ..and when i say a lot..you can have leftovers….kalihi bbq all day
I go Golden Duck & Red Rooster Makiki: (but, still open?). I go Chinatowns Pake fams spots befo, too. All aroun da old Toho Theater. Den got Patti's Chinese Kitchen Ala Moana. And old-times Wahiawa & Waipahu Pake family spots.😊 Now I been west coast USA fo long time, got all kinds Pake places to go get.
I'm British, and I get confused by the phrase 'haven't been here in a minute'. Does this mean 'I haven't been here for a long time' or 'I have been here very recently'?
Too bad they don’t have the cook who worked at the old Diners in Kalihi a couple decades ago! That chicken katsu was the bomb and they don’t make it like that anymore, different cook different chicken not moist and plenty meat like before
I am relatively new to your channel - just a few months but I love your videos! I am watching in Ireland and drooling over the food you folks show. Thank you for working so hard to make such well edited and entertaining videos 😊

Please do🤤 their breakfast plate was super filling and affordable!
Lunch meat is the category that spam is in like bolonga. Any deli meat is lunch meat.
The paper plates. 😮 is that standard for cheap eats? Still think you describe the food very, very well.😊
What’s the worst part of Monday?
