I really liked to listening your insights about you thought patterns. I recently started observing thoughts and feelings while not engaging in them. It has been a long ride with a lot of trauma, healing and psychoanalysis to get here. I find it best not to judge myself and instead feel love and understanding for myself. A lot of times the ego and programming is not choosed by us and is just but a biproduct of our environmend - often caused by trauma. So I'm trying not to feel shame anymore for my feelings/thoughts. I grew up in a family that in my opinion has a lot of emotional supression and psychological trauma and has gaslighted my feelings for my whole life, it is because I have learnd this from my parents. So now when I started have compassion for myself I also opened my heart for others as well.

I asked the same question after my awakening and was told it wasn’t my business what was done with the money. Not only that, but I was prejudiced in wondering what it would be used for. Once I realized this truth I rarely had people come up to me again. It is a lesson I needed to learn.
The last person that approached me, much like you, we went into the grocery store and I bought her groceries and she shared her story with me and asked for my prayers. We hugged goodbye and she thanked me repeatedly. In that moment I had a profound revelation. I had wanted the experience of giving to another and that sweet soul had lived this point in her life to give me that experience. I was given a bird’s eye view of giving and receiving. I was the beggar and she had given to me the opportunity of service I requested. 🤯❤

When I give for the sake of giving I don't expect anything in return but I also do it when it isn't inconvenient to me which is where I fail. Thank you for the lesson Ben.

I felt very used until today. I just journaled about being the avenue that the divine chooses to use to flow abundance to others. This perspective changes everything. I WANT to serve. I didn’t realise I was already. I was wishing it away. AND then your video spoke straight to me!
I feel exactly like you. I feel good giving. I enjoy it in fact. On occasion I look for ways to give even. However I don’t like it taken. But it’s the choice of the divine. I get to choose whether it leaves my hands with love or annoyance. That’s it!
I’m so glad you shared this experience!

Thanks Ben, this brings back so many fond memories. Once, I turned around to see my friend totally covered in begging children, clinging to his legs and waist, as he was handing out candy bar pieces... all of them (and he) were laughing, as he couldn't even take a step.

Oh Ben...How your story made me laugh in the most wonderful way! By the way my name is Ben as well. That will be relevant later. When I went to visit Sai Baba in 1997 I had many challenging experiences and many opportunities to laugh at myself and my own mental process as well.
After arriving in Bangalore by plane, I took the three hour taxi ride to Puttaparthi. The taxi had a radiator leak and we had to stop in every village to add water. At almost every stop, the driver shooed away the children who ran up to the car. Finally we reached a village where the water supply was a five minute walk from the road. The driver apologised and said he would return in ten minutes with some water for the car.
As soon as he disappeared, about 8-10 children raced up to the open windows of the car stuck out their hands and asked excitedly, "Ben, Ben, Ben." I was mystified.... How is it possible that I had been in the country only hours and the children already know my name. I kept asking "Ben? back in return and they kept repeating, "Ben, Ben, Ben" Finally I realized based on their gestures, that in their version of English, they transposed the Ps and Bs. They were asking for a PEN for school.
I dug in my bag and and pulled out every pen I had and gave them the pens. Their faces lit up like Christmas morning. They cheered and screamed with joy and ran off waving their pens to each other. Sometimes it is the gesture, rather than the value that makes the difference. Sitting and praying with someone can feed their soul in a way that food never can. Stay open to what you are getting in every situation. What is needed most in each situation may be different and through your openness you can listen and adapt to what you feel is needed most, in each moment.

Thank you, Ben, for the important messages I needed to hear today: Ask sincerely, and you will be given the signs; follow them without a doubt. No matter how easy it seems, action continually tests our sincerity, devotion, and commitment; it also teaches us who we are if we are brave enough to see ourselves clearly.

This is crazy. Like you said it was meant by the Devine.
Two days ago I was eating on a fast food place and this homeless person missing an eye and in crouches came in.
He asked if I could “help someone who is down and buy him food”
I said yes and asked him what he wanted from the place I was at and he said buy me a sandwich from the market.
I said ok and rushed to finish my food, I didn’t even finished because it felt wrong to make him wait.
We walk out and he said actually buy me something from the chicken place. We had to walk there, he can’t walk as fast and I notice I am getting impatient but I calm myself down and walk with him keeping small talk.
We finally get there and he order a lot of food $35 worth of it.
When the cashier gives the receipt back I want to take it because a paranoid part of me doesn’t want him to have any information on me. My name for example.
He told me his name and he says can I keep the receipt so I can pick up the food when it is ready. I said ok and walked away a bit uneasy.
I thought about it and examined how I felt about the whole interaction but I kept reminding myself he is God, God is in everyone and everything.
I want to learn to give like my younger brother who passed away two years ago did. He gave without care.
It reminds me of a part of the poem “On Giving” by K Gibran:
“There are those who give and know not pain in giving, nor do they seek joy, nor give with mindfulness of virtue; They give as in yonder valley the myrtle breaths its fragrance into space. Through the hands of such as these God speaks, and from behind their eyes He smiles upon the earth”

I lived in Puttaparthi for 18 years. The local beggars can recognise new pilgrims and they have learned their scripts very well; "Baba say no money, no money only food!"
They take you to a small supermarket and ask for rice, etc... some of the food they will keep but most of it they will resale at another small supermarket. Everyone in Puttaparthi knows and it is not only here, all spiritual locations have their sides of dishonesty.
3000 rupees is an enormous amount to ask for food!
If you live in India for some times you will understand and the two first ATM not working was probably Baba telling you not to do it.
Your perception of a part of you wanting to take credit for giving is more important.
Better to offer 1 or 2 samosa or thali at a local dhaba, food stall

    • @omtapas
      @omtapas 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +3

Or you can offer them a chai but if they are greedy then it is probably wiser to move along.
How will you deal with the beggars tomorrow? And the days after?
Puttaparthi is the Nummer one place to have your s%it come up!
When I first came to Puttaparthi I thought I had a clue and after 18 years I could confirm that I am clueless and happy.
      Expect the unexpected!, that's Puttaparthi's motto ❤

    • @omtapas
      @omtapas 7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

What will you do tomorrow when they see you again?
Their profession is "beggar". It brings a higher income than any work they could find.
Sometimes they have children in their arms. Mostly not their children.
So what will you do tomorrow?
I have seen pilgrims been cursed because they wouldn't give... it is also part of their victim games to have foreigners feel guilty.
      Sai Ram ❤

That's so interesting about seeing your mum as the beggar in meditation. I had a disagreement with my dad recently and I was being frustrated and closed off with him, and in meditation I saw him (he was shown to me) as an infant sitting on the sofa wrapped in his blanket, plain as day in my minds eye. So while I saw him as an imbecile being facetious - in meditation the divine showed me he was just as helpless as an infant and it wasn't his fault he was reacting the way he was to the situation, just as you shouldn't get angry at an infant for how they react to stuff.

Their outside appearance often guides my decision. Your video is helping me think more about my own inner processes in these situations. Oh and the other day I gave $5 to a man who started talking some crazy stuff. It turns out he was a MAGA guy. LOL I almost wanted to ask for my "donation" back!
