This looks a whole lot better than I've been mislead to believe by other reviewers who are not as professional, honest and thorough as you are. I would really consider grabbing hold of this if it wasn't for the stupidly high price they are asking for it and obviously the pathetic trigger less controller however the option to use a gaming controller via a lead is another option I was unaware of and seems great for many games. I may grab one of these in the near future to go with every other headset you have recommended that I have purchased but only if its on sale at around half the price.
Hi Michael! I am really glad that you appreciate how I work! It is definitely more work to do things like I do them, but I believe in the end the viewers will see the difference, and your comment shows that! And I agree with you, the price is bad. If this was cheaper, I could totally recommend this! Well, I will let you know many more information in the full review which is....COMING UP!!! :)
Thanks Sebastian I look forward to your review video very soon but I don't look forward to being even more broke than I currently am due to trying to keep up with the latest VR tech. []-)
cybersurfervr Hi cybersurfervr you mentioned that viewing flickering Porn at 60 and 72hz gives you a headache. I wonder if that's the reason why whenever I mention sex to the wife she always says she is suffering with a headache. Maybe I should take the GO headset off her first prior to foreplay. 😂
h8tingit After you move around in Netflix one or twice you probably won't ever do it again. Hopefully that small feature doesn't make you buy into an entire device/echo system just because you can walk around in Netflix. Think about it, the idea of Netflix is to sit and watch content on a screen, not walk around. Just saying, don't overreact to one "cool" feature. Be wise
looking forward to the full review! some tests to try if you can would appreciate: 1. can it connect a usb hard drive and 2. be powered by usb? 3. can you connect a mixed reality controller via bluetooth? 4. can you run the DJi apps for drone flights? 5. in reality whats the FOV difference with the oculus go? 6. can it link bluetooth headphones like airpods? Thanks
Excellent review, this is the information I was looking for in other reviews. Would like to see you go more in-depth with some of the apps, like Google Street View and Photos and Video, in a future video.
it's worth it compared to the only other headset from this class the vive focus....... and if u r ok with a cheap 3dof similar to vr experience but not quite .... than u can get a go
I would love to see you try out something like Virtual Virtual Reality while outdoors in a large open area. I'm wondering how far you can walk around in virtual environments. If it allows that to a large degree then I am definitely buying it. I really am not as impressed with the Oculus Go as most people but this looks much more compelling.
Chris Duncan.... have u seen videos about vive focus th-cam.com/video/qaa8aPi8qNY/w-d-xo.html ...... it's the same hardware platform..... even if the tracking software is a bit different it's basically the same capabilities ...... over super big distances there is a bit of drift but it can work in a pretty big area just fine
I was wondering Sebastian, I have $500 to spend. I am just starting in VR. Which one of these would you recommend as the best to buy over the other, the Vive $499, the Oculus Rift $399, or the Samsung Odyssey $429? Or if you think I should wait for something that is coming out in a month or two. I want to play games and just have fun with it. Thanks,
I would say occulus last as its only offers good controllers, its hard to say between samsung and vive, vive has awesome tracking and quality wise on build its better as the samsung, however the samsung controller offer more ergonomics and buttons, it comes with an build in audio and carries more on your head like psvr. Overall i would say the samsung has the most cons, however the only lack IMHO is the tracking of the controlelrs as all WINMR can only track when they are in the HMD cameras views. The benefit for buying the vive is that you have the best tracking system, however the screens in the HMD are outdated compared to samsung , but the good thing is that if pimax can deliver their HMD in good quality there is a good upgrade for replacing the Vive V1 as the vive1.5 is not worth the money.
Na dude. Windows mixed reality tracking is amazing and people really seem to under value it. I have an HTC and a mixed reality headset and I rather use the mixed reality HMD because of weight, screen resolution and ease of use. I also get way less VR fatigue in it. Honestly @RC get a Lenovo explorer for less than all of the above and have the almost same experience as the Samsung Odyssey but with plugged in headphones instead...
Lenovo Explorer is cheaper than all and pretty much the same resolution as the Samsung Odyssey. Leight weight and the tracking is great. I think people really undervalue the accuracy of inside-out tracking. Yea now and then it may miss something, but shit for the VR experiences we have and will build for the next two years, its perfect. You can move round a 2x2 room with a windows mixed reality HMD as well. Its a no-brainer.
So doesnt this mean that the stand alone headsets do all the video rendering on the headset, versus a connected one using the graphics card in the PC....The graphics here look cartoonish to me so I wonder if this is a issue with the rendering abilities in the headset??...Thanks Laurie
While I will get the oculus go because I can't get the mirage solo and if I'm buying a all in one vr headset I'm getting it to consume movies and videos if it had games like super hot vr I'd go for it but still great video
Hi sebastian, What about the IPD compared To thé lenovo Windows mr is it the same ? And about the sweetspot. It was for me a big issue with the windows lenovo Mr whereas the occulus go are Perfect . Thank's
I just picked up an FRP locked Lenovo Mirage Solo headset in new condition for cheap recently. I was thinking I could hack it as I have so many FRP locked phones. This thing proved to be much tougher as the menu is so simple and there aren't many options. That said, I did manage to accidentally trigger some links at the bottom of the login screen. Not sure how... I was just clicking around on the screen, using copy/paste and making the screen jump around. I clicked those links and made it into the web browser and then the google apps. I didn't get much further, but I also have not been able to trigger those bottom login screen links since. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, do you know the steps to trigger those login screen links? I'll ask around elsewhere also.
Also arent we looking at two VR "operating systems" here... Googles Daydream and Microsoft's Mixed Reality...???? The old VHS versus Beta shootout etc..?? Then add in where the rendering is being done headset/PC graphics card...??? Laurie
I don't know if I would get one unless I didn't have a phone to use but I got a phone and it's great. I am good now with Steam VR games now over the Daydream but if I were to show someone VR or just to play simple games I would grab the Daydream View. They need to have a 3rd party make a trigger controller for the Daydream though.
Nice showcase, bit i found it frustating in the lack of wanted demos. I wanted to see mostly wanted to see te things you merely talked about it doing, and found the things you did show it doing, to be irrelevent :/
Hello to everyone Hi Sebastian , I question because Im in wheelchair for VR Did you have To play stand up or did it's possible To playing all sitting in a sofa for exemple at skyrim or for steamVr dont have any device yet but I start to look at the stand alone lol Oculus go and Mirage solo Nice review Thank you and did the oculus go is able to run a steamlink and Android games now just like Lenovo SOLO ? Thanks again !
Marie Fr Baillet Hi, you don't need to stand. You can play everything while sitting! But for Skyrim you will need one of the other headsets (Rift, Vive, Windows MR)
MRTV - MIXED REALITY TV hello thanks ^^ , Weel pretty cool, I' m more often Android games on tablet and movies than Skyrim after all for playing my Android RTS in VR I subscribe so thanks you , just let me know Did Lenovo Mirage Solo is the one for playing Android games actually in VR ??.. Because to me Oculus Go everywhere looks smart fits great for everyday ! Hisn't ? But Lenovo mirage seems less pushing back saddly has you said , I whish good week end ^^ 2 you

Sebastian ...well the price can't be any better right now .....it will be better when phones with sd835 (or equivalent hardware) cost 400 or less

And here I thought the mirage solo sucked. The fact that you moved around in the Netflix is what sold it for me. Dam!

How do you get the force 6dof to work on Lenovo VR Android 8.0
Do it have Google earth? Can it run Google Earth?
I too would like to know how you force the 6 DOF please? Do you mean the ability to turn off the safety distance restrictions in the developer menu?
How do you connect a controller? I added an xbox remote via Bluetooth but does not work.
How did you force the 6 degrees of freedom on all the apps and games?
hi, can i use a browser on this VR? i really like watch fotball matches in a website, can i do that? thanks
An off topic question: what happened to the Daydream District channel? I thought it would be on the Daydream District TH-cam channel.
Franken Go should be a German fast food chain

Would this work alright on a jet while flying?

I would of purchased this if it had tracked controllers... sadly I’ll wait for the Santa Cruz :(
How in the world did they miss that important feature.... I still cannot believe it.
Does it have the Movies Anywhere app?
I want one. ☹️
Well you got one so quite your crying! Lol.
@@MobileDecay you got one
is the library of games and experiences as big or have the same apps as the oculus go?
for example like the games/experiences that shine from the rest. cross plat form
thanks for the great review, I have just bought mirage solo yesterdy, and would you please teach me how to forse 6Dof to he 3Dof apps ? thank you.
gibts grad bei einigen Händlern für 99-120€ das Ding. Ohne Witz, das lohnt sich für Einsteiger.
Also arent we looking at two VR "operating systems" here... Googles Daydream and Microsoft's Mixed Reality...???? The old VHS versus Beta shootout etc..?? Then add in where the rendering is being done headset/PC graphics card...??? Laurie
How do you force the 6dof?
Go to settings. Go to Daydream VR Settings. Tap Build version 10 times. Restart after changing setting for it to take affect.
I don't know if I would get one unless I didn't have a phone to use but I got a phone and it's great.
