Toyota camry: Secret gauge cluster repair: What the cluster repair shops don't want you to know!!!!!

I had issues with my Speedometer on my 99 Camry project. The speedometer would begin to bounce and the odometer would begin to flicker and then both would stop working shortly after. Once this occurred the transmission won't shift normally and the torque converter won't go into lock up on the interstate. I spent a lot of time reading and researching and looking on TH-cam and couldn't find good information on what was causing the issue. I finally found a repair forum that talked about this issue and what it takes to repair it. I will show in this video, how to remove the cluster and disassemble it, then what you are looking for on the speedometer head. This could be a problem on many Toyota's of that generation, not just the Camry. I haven't proven that at this point, but If yours is having the symptoms that I describe in the video, I would certainly take a look to see if this was the cause.
