    Install a small air line from a solenoid on a timer that hits the lens with a blast of air to keep the lens clear. Use the same thing that they have for air compressor tanks, has a timer and can be adjusted for a short blast.

      Once the oil is warm you can also use a scientific wash bottle.
      When you squeeze the bottle base it pumps the liquid from the bottom up to a small 90 degree nozzle.
      It's a lot easier than turning the bottle sideways to put it where you want it. We used them to spray solvent where we wanted it during cleanup at a printing press.

    Couple things, we run 8rt’s in sand and with a lot of roading. First I know you will not like it but reduce speed on the roads. Next the tracks on the machine look like there are wore a little bit. Had issued a with a machine puking out bogeys and not staying Aligned. Put new tracks on and problem was fixed. Last we put a 3/16 spacer behind the bogey to push them away from the guide lugs. Just remember friction causes heat. Hope that helps

    • @Bigstrapper
      @Bigstrapper 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      All track tractors are not built for speed case quads and deeres.. thats why people have axle seals out and boogie wheels flying apart they wont last pulling a grain cart or fertilizer spreader at high speeds.

      @jmburry1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Heat and rubber don’t mix, correct.
      The thing is that they are treating there case quads no differently if not more harshly than the 9rx and are not having the issue. The big Swede spent hour upon hour at pretty high speed spreading fertilizer with a massive spreader at the rear and a ton of weight. The 9rx has been through nothing like that. It’s got a pretty easy life most of the time planting for alot of its hours. Imagine the repair bill if it did what the 600 quad did every year.

    CHET, I love watching your videos, and I want to tell you how incredibly impressed I am with the amount of knowledge you have. The equipment is incredibly expensive; some of it does not seem like it should cost what it does. I guess that's no different than the career I was in, firefighting. Thirty-some years ago a fire engine would have cost between $80,000.00 to $100,000.00. Nowadays, a similar piece is costing $700,000.00. The bigger trucks, the ones that have ladders on them, are costing $800,000.00 to as high as 1.4 million. The cost to run a business is just crazy out of this world. BLESS 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 you, Dougo, Erik, and all of your family.

    I'm not sure how your soil works, but we grow in soil that ranges from sand to heavy clay and we have alway put our fertilizer about 1/2" directly under the seed and our start right on top. We have been doing this for 30 years and have alway been happy with our emergence. We have played with rates between planting and side dressing depending on how wet it is and if we applied liquid manure but we have never had a problem dropping the starter right on top of our seed.
    Have a great day.

The equipment for this type of work has to have those designations on the device and certified for use in that area. The potential for the explosion is extremely high, and the affects can be devastating. Everything required to cause the explosion is there, enclosed space, combustible particulates suspended in the air, and an ignition source. I have personally witnessed the power and affects of this phenomenon and I suggest you don't take this lightly. Brushless motors still spark, and unless they are sealed appropriately there is no difference to that tool than lighting a match in a refinery.

    I have been running my in furrow liquid directly on the seed for years. After performing a ton of flag emergence tests (usually on every variety every year), I've not seen an issue caused by liquid on the seed. That being said, I've always used a low salt fertilizer like 3-18-18. I would get a little concerned using 10-34-0, as it has a pretty high salt load. Most years you probably won't see a problem, but if you get into a spring where you have dry weather and dry conditions surrounding the seed, you could run into some seed germ issues because the only moisture that seed takes in, is from the 10-34-0. As a result the seed soaks up a lot of salt and then kills the germ. It's probably not a huge concern, however in the right scenario, you have the potential of seeing an issue.

    I always put a 5/8 bolt in my bench vise, then put the opener on the bolt and tighten the nut, slightly. Then give the disk a spin to check for trueness. At the same time, I take a grinder and give a SLIGHT touch to the edges. Some times they get a rolled over edge and it wears off quickly, then your spacing is too wide.

      There is a place for both. If you are in area of dryness year after year, tires will work just fine. On loader machines, I believe tires are the way to go. If you are in heavy soils that are constantly wet and tough to work, tracked machines have a much greater ground contact area than wheeled equipment. The length and width of tracks cover a larger area than wheels do. This significantly reduces load transfer and creates much lighter PSI sharing than wheels can ever accomplish. Tracks actually work to float the machine over the ground rather than cut into it. Again, depending on your land and circumstances, both have an application.

    We have put 5 gal/acre of 10-34-0 on the seed for 30+ years with no issues.

      With their heavy ground I wouldn’t be afraid of it either, but I think the splinter was just as fast getting the fertilizer to the seed for pop up. The first roots are going to find it fast either way. We got sandy ground and the only time I ever had a problem with seed germ from fertilizer burn was in a real dry spring and I was putting 7 gallons of 10-34-0 on with splinters.

    I wonder if wiping down the cameras with a dryer cloth would help? It's helped me with static cling in a few different devices.

    Looks like more of an issue on the 9rx with the track only wearing on the inside, they might be off on alignment and making more heat which would burn the boggie wheels quicker.

    Wonder if you could use a portable air tank and run a rubber hose up to the cameras and just run a lil compressed air when the cameras get dirty. Make it easier for them to get cleaned quickly.

    Making more work for yourself than what it’s worth. Amazing, you do most of the work on the equipment but don’t have a technical manual for the equipment.
