I was lucky enough to see Red, Bobby and Donnie run in the late 50s at Palm Beach Speedway when I was 9 years old. You could walk in the pits and see your hero's and nobody bothered you. Great memories!!
Ol' Red has always made our state (Alabama) proud. I remember the last time he came to Huntsville to race (mid 1980's) he clobbered the first turn wall & over the p.a. said he was "gonna give Bobby (Allison) an earful for loaning him a race car with no brakes !" (lol)
Excellence production. Such a treasure for a new NASCAR Fan. I ran across an article about the racer who went to drive on race track dispute his age. After introduction to this guy via media, I became a fan of the sport & follow NASCAR! What a treasure and my reason for visiting the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Also quite an entertainer!
That’s pretty awesome. One of the most impressive things about him was he served an apprenticeship in the IBEW, a union journeyman wireman just like myself. He secured his future to start with. This lets you know that he had very good common sense.
Funny that all those drivers interviewed acted as if Farmer was an old timer back 40 years ago when this video was made. .....Kenny Shreader may be the next Red Farmer
Haha! We all thought he was an old man then because he'd never disclose his real age. And you're right, I don't think there'll be a rocking chair in ol' Schrader's future either!

I would love to get a copy of this if possible! We are restoring the thunderbird in this video for red.
Wow, that’s fantastic! I’ll be happy to do it! Email me at nivroc@gmail.com and I’ll send you the file.

@@michaelcorvin4330 I heard Reds wife passed a few years ago & he re-married around 89 years old
@@reginaldhall6871 She did, but I don't recall how old Red was when he remarried. Ms. Joan was such a sweet lady.
Red Farmer was an old timer 40 years ago ! To me he is nothing short of a Superhero.
No disrespect. The real king of racing.sorry to the petty family
