I miss those old 'bank books' I used to love them when I was a kid. I had my own account when I was about 7 opened for me by my Granny in which I would put a dollar and she would match it. :)
actually some banks still have Bank Book Savings Accounts. I have one. These days it's usually only available in small banking institutions with like only 5 branches. I wont keep one cent of my money in the huge mega banks
Eventually the chequing account became the current account, am I right? I always heard the term 'savings account' and 'current account' in any media. One in particular was in an episode of SpongeBob Squarepants when both SpongeBob and Patrick "tried" to rob a bank so that they can go to jail and rescue Mrs. Puff.

Ah yes. Long before the days of ATM's and debit cards.
nanlisa yup I hardly ever carry cash now just enough for bus fares or a taxi
A simpler time, when tellers weren't behind bullet-proof glass, people and checks were trusted, and nothing was done electronically. *wistful sigh*
Ah yes, the chequing account. I remember doing all that before it all became electronic.

I bet everything was much slower those days. "half dollars" were normal coins then i guess.
my hat's off to those brave enough to work at a bank when that grill was the only thing seperating you from potentially being shot and killed.
Elmville Nayshinul Bank... where you earn inner-ist.
END THE FED
I can assume that bank robberies and muggings were not that rampant at the time. I don't see any security guards around.
He put money money in the checking account?
