Girl, you're the reason I'm getting my grad school degree LOL. It's so hard for me to read so I tend to listen to all my reading materials, but I wasn't able to find a PDF of my textbook anywhere. You're a lifesaver!
To say "Thank You" is simply not enough! I needed to make some revisions to a book I wrote back in 2014. Some where in the past years I had lost my original copy and was about ready to have to retype by hand 37,000 words document. By purchasing my ebook I was able to reconstruct the book and make needed changes in less than 6 hours. Most of the time was spent revising. So sending along a HUGE eHug. I've been able to do this for all but the more recent books unfortunately but I'll get around that by reading them on my kindle and now only purchasing books on my Kobo itself
New to this! I have downloaded the zip file in the description, but everytime I try it, Calibre gives me an error code: DeDRM_tools-10.0.3.zip' is invalid. It does not contain a top-level __init__.py file Is there anyone else having this problem, and/or know how to fix? Please and thank you?

I am still getting the message saying it's DRM protected. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Do /What any of the other plug-ins already in calibre need to be installed?
So, I just ran into this exact problem and was so frustrated. Finally, after a lot of googling, I tried someone's suggestion of dropping the zipped deDRM file into a new folder and naming it exactly what calibre was looking for with the .zip extension. That seemed to do the trick for me. Good luck!
It looks like y'all have figured this out. I am on the road, so I don't have access to my Mac with Calibre and all of my deDrm stuff. When I get home, I will do some research and do an update when I can. I think Amazon has changed some things, so we might have to find some new files to use.

Hi Danielle! I actually followed all the steps for removing DRM in Calibre as you instructed. However, I still get the "This book has DRM" message. Any ideas? Appreciate your help!
Unfortunately, the only wisdom that I can offer is to be sure that the serial number is entered correctly (I copy and paste), and make sure that you're downloading the books to the Kindle that you entered. If it still doesn't work, maybe try uninstalling the whole thing and do a fresh install. I have NO explanation for why that works, but sometimes it does. I think that Calibre can be really touchy, and if it doesn't see everything just right it might not work.

I’m not sure which one you’re talking about, but it was probably either the Kobo Libre Color or the Boox Note Air 3c. I LOVE the Note Air 3c, but it’s big (which is one thing that I love about it, but if you’re looking for a small, one handed reader, that’s probably not it). You can download different apps onto it so you can read Kindle, Nook, Libby, etc on it, and you can download and annotate in EPubs , PDF’s and lots of other formats.

Not working for me... hmm Update: success, but it has to be a .azw3 file... not all of the Amazon downloads are that format. Lots of these books are KFX-ZIP format and not working.
I don't think I've encountered a KFX-ZIP file format. It's my understanding that when you do the "transfer via USB step", that converts them to the AZW3 format. Is that not how it works?
3:43 ... as it's been explained on another channel when you "buy" a digital book on Amazon you don't "own" that book...according to the terms of use all you have bought is a "license" to be able to read on your kindle... if you violate any terms of use (such as being accused of digital piracy) Amazon can revoke that license and they will delete all your "purchased" content .... So, according to Amazon buying is NOT owning.... but, I bet ya'll know there are workarounds....

Mac user here.. Calibre is crashing on me while using the newest version of DeDRM and trying to go in and put in my Kindle serial number. :(
Oh no! I'm a Mac Girl, too. It's still working for me (I just PDF'ed a Kindle book for work a couple of days ago), but I know that ALL Apple stuff can be touchy when you try to make it play nicely with non-Apple products. Did you get it to work?
All very useful information. Thanks for sharing.
Not stalking but definitely judging... 😆😆😆
Oh, trust me. I judge my-dang-self. 😂
16 Kindles!!!!! 🤭
Yeah, well . . . but they . . . I know. 😆
Great tutorial but video editing was invented for a reason.
Really? Maybe you can explain how it works. Commas were invented for a reason, too, by the way.
@@fitdaniellereads I didn't need to know that you went to the door, you could have edited it out, here's some coma's for you , , , , , , , , , , 😉😁
Seriously though, the information was useful and helped me.👍
