Good old Mario, nothing compares to the old NES days. Ah, the nostalgia! I can't say this is a complete longplay with warp zone usage, but whatever, still good!
Ryu Hayabusa It is a speed run because let me tell you. The time limit in this game goes faster and I would never handle that! Especially the speed run because I can end up falling!
The best childhood games we spent together unforgettable moments .. will remain stuck in the minds of everyone forever .. How wonderful it was if we can return to the beautiful past !
@@memati7199 From Wikipedia: "A longplay is a play-through of a video game, created with the intent of completing it as fully as possible, mainly for the purposes of nostalgia, preservation, and possibly as a walkthrough." Skipping 80% of the game isn't what I'd call fully as possible. Using the warps makes it just a lousy speedrun.
El juego que salvó a la industria de los videojuegos. Historia para siempre. Gracias Super Mario Bros y gracias Nintendo por haber creado esta obra maestra.
Man I had such a hard time with this game when I was 13 or 14. I never did beat it. Of course I was never one that had to beat a game to move on. I played it until the next hot shiny game came out and then got into that.
It's amazing how hard we thought these games were as kids (i was born June 92,so i grew up with original Nintendo in the late 90's) Now it just seems so easy, course remember they were no "Save Game",You just had to play it with your older brother alll night :)
Super Mario Bros. is a platform game developed and published by Nintendo. The successor to the 1983 arcade game, Mario Bros., it was released in Japan in 1985 for the Famicom, and in North America and Europe for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1985 and 1987 respectively. Players control Mario, or his brother Luigi in the multiplayer mode, as they travel the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue Princess Toadstool from Bowser. They must traverse side-scrolling stages while avoiding hazards such as enemies and pits with the aid of power-ups such as the Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Starman. Super Mario Bros to save Mushroom Princess right now!! The Mushroom Princess is being held captive by the evil King Koopa tribe of turtles. Fast and move even faster to complete this quest and a host of black magic traps to save the princess.
@Dac719 Specifically, the game uses a signed byte to represent how many lives you have. When your life total increments beyond 127, it goes to -1, then -2, -3, -4, etc. all the way up to -128 and then back to 0, 1, 2, 3, etc. After you lose a life, if your life total isn't at least 1, you get a game over. If the game thinks you have a negative number of lives, game over.
@dabbasw31 You mean the crown next to the number? He actually had 10 lives, but there was a programming glitch because Nintendo apparently never expected a player to rack up more than 9 lives (remember, this was one of their very first NES games)! If you get to 20 lives and beyond, other sprites show up in the digits.
@Dac719 SMB3, SMW, NSMB, and NSMBWii all top out at 99 lives; the counter can only hold two digits. A few games (Yoshi's Island, the Super Mario Advance remakes of SMB2, SMB3, and SMW) top out at 999, giving the player an extra digit. 127 is the limit in SMB1 as a consequence of the programmers using a signed byte to store lives; the life counter actually glitches up above 9, so I doubt the programmers anticipated players getting 10 or even 100 1-ups in one go.
To everyone who thought that the game was glitching when it showed a random enemy corpse instead of a Bowser one: The Bowsers before world 8 were supposed to be random enemies that Bowser turned into a likeness of himself. World 8 Bowser is the real one. So no, one of the Bowsers being a Blooper is not a glitch. :)
@ShdwFrg In the first seven appearances of Bowser it isn't really Bowser, it's another enemy in disguise, whose true identity is revealed when it dies. Only the last one is actually Bowser.
WOW awesome dude this brings back memories lol. This was the first video game I ever player 21 years ago.. I don't remember the princess being that small though... I thought she was Mario's size but whatever.
Big thumb up to all people who are trying to make good old Retro games alive! One of the reasons why I decided to do Let's Play of Retro NES games on my channel!
@jamak42 The 1-UP only shows up on the first stage in Worlds 2-8 if you clear the third stage (World x-3) of every World. For example, no 1-UP appears in World 2-1 unless you collect every coin in World 1-3.
In the Worlds where the time limit is 300 (rather than 400), it's best to run as fast as you can, especially in World 8 because they are quite long. Otherwise, you may run out of time or at least very short on time. Just saying in general, not to anyone in particular.
Man, now I know that I can pass the game in less than 20 minutes, even with the warp zones, I could never pass the game, even at my age of 10 when I was TOTALLY addicted to videogames
In levels 3-1 and 7-1, there's a way to get many extra lives (more likely in 7-1 if you're Fire Mario and 3-1 if you're Super Mario). Kill or send the first Koopa (Buzzy Beetle in 7-1) on its way. Then, wait for the second to come down the staircase right above you. If you time it right, you'll repeatedly kick the Koopa shell (Beetle armor in 7-1), which will gain you extra lives. Just be careful not to get too many or the game will end when you die.
@Yezpahr I guess I didn't think about that. But, yeah, I thought something was wrong with my NES game when that happened but figured there had to be a reason for it happening every time. That's why I like Mario Wiki. It's not always accurate but gives some great insight.
Of course, in some of those 300 Worlds, it may not be feasibly probable to run as fast as you can, since you could bump into an enemy or two and possibly lose a life.
@technologick1183 In your first response, I misunderstood the word "Blooper". I thought you meant a genuine blooper, not a name of some creature in-game :P. Never noticed the others had a different skin at death as well.
@fantasto5 did you know that smbtll is actually the real super mario bros 2? it came out in 1986 right after the first one and was only released in japan for the famicom disc system you can also get in super mario bros deluxe for gbc (game boy color) and gba as part of the famicom mini series the us version is doki doki panic with mario sprites
Super Mario Bros became a masterpiece the moment it debuted! Perfect from the beginning to end!!!
I could go 30 years without playing this game and these sounds and graphics would still be as familiar as if I played it last week.
When Mom tells me I only have 20 minutes to play video games before bedtime.
?.
Really this gaming time, was very unenough time for play the video games
Good old Mario, nothing compares to the old NES days. Ah, the nostalgia! I can't say this is a complete longplay with warp zone usage, but whatever, still good!
This looks more like a speed run :(
Still a great game, brought back lots of memories.
Ryu Hayabusa
It is a speed run because let me tell you. The time limit in this game goes faster and I would never handle that! Especially the speed run because I can end up falling!
I still have my NES from my tenth birthday back in 1992. So many memories! I love this game and all of the updated Wii versions!
Honestly, this isn't a longplay if you don't play all of the levels!
***** Mario's our Remix!!!
I agree. Not only that but the person is running through all this like a maniac only picking up lives, it's not enjoyable to watch.
El patito feo
Juegos2014 la viviana fea
Micic00 I dare you to do a better job with NO lives lost...
Didn't notice Bowser turns into random enemies when you kill him with fireballs. Nice touch.
Actually, those are Fake Bowsers. The real Bowser is fought in World 8.
The best childhood games we spent together unforgettable moments .. will remain stuck in the minds of everyone forever .. How wonderful it was if we can return to the beautiful past !
This NES game has cool music! I have the Virtual Console version of this game on my Nintendo Wii. Nice walkthrough!
Oh the wonderful memories. How I love this game!
So much nostalgia... I still remember playing this at my grandmother's house on Christmas day 1985.
It still looks yesterday for me, even actually i played this game 20 years a ago
The most iconic video game of all time

He played the whole game from the start menu to the end 🙂

Yep. The NES was my first console and this was my first game. I have many good memories playing this as a kid. Nostalgia trips are fun!
Like Super Mario Bros. for the NES. It's one of my top "black box label" games for the system!
Shortest long play ever. No questions asked.
It`s dependent from the timer. If the last digit an 1, 3 or 6 you get the firework.
I once watched my brother beat this game 5 times in a row. We had a lot of free time back in the days lol

@Dac719 In all games besides SMB1, once your life counter hits the maximum, 1-Ups have no effect until you lose a life.
I remember this game. It's fun and memorable.
