Eh, you might as well. Time will always be correct, never have to change a battery, never have to open up the case. I would skip over the economy square DW5600 and buy am upgraded GWM5610 with solar charging and atomic timekeeping. IMO it's worth the $50-ish more.
I just got this in all black, it's basically a budget version of the GMW5000 and I have that in gold. I think this is a good purchase. There's a lot more functionality in the gmw5000 but will you actually use it? The solar is nice and It does feel more premium and a bit nicer to wear than this, however, if you want to save $$$ this is a good alternative, strap is decent imo- I'm really happy with it and I'm negative display gang for life. Side note - I would kinda like a red negative display with this. - Ps. Hackable? What do you mean?
I modded my BBMA-1 (metallic mirror dial version) to steel bezel & larger band.. but the problem with steel bezel is it will leaves mark & scratches on the bezel. Plus it looks so shiny on sunny day..

Whoa. No solar makes me sad, but the watches existence makes me optmisitic?! If skmei was serious theyd make a 100 solar version lol but it wud say skmei on it Not just the 25$ metal bracelet version thats out now...
Just tell me one thing... Where you got those big wrists??? Every gshock watch fits you so well. Damn i have to go to the gym to make mine a bit bigger so that i don't have to worry about watch sizes specially gshocks when ordering online..
I have a gripe. You should know this before purchasing. You can’t set the timer or anything and have the backlight on simultaneously. You can start it sort of. But you can’t change the timer. At night when you use the light, it doesn’t stay on when you switch to stopwatch, alarm, or timer.. so it’s constantly back and forth to use functions if you need a backlight. Very irritating for a $280 watch. And, if you’re fumbling around and accidentally get into a setting mode in any function, the light is disabled at that time completely. So, you can end up sort of stuck in this setting mode not even aware of how to get back. And it’s dark. No good if you want to use and change these functions under low light conditions or in the dark. The backlight is basically useless other than to see the time. I don’t regret the purchase completely because it’s a badass looking watch, but it’s a kick in the nuts due to this backlight thing because I’d like to use these functions anytime. Its supposed to be like this military, police, etc type watch, “gshock”, but aren’t cops and army guys doing tasks at night a lot of the time?
PERSON A: "Hey, now that's a nice looking watch" PERSON B: "Thanks, it's the only watch I own" PERSON A: "By the way, what time is it?" PERSON B: "Uh....I dunno know, but isn't the negative display cool?" PERSON A: 🤦
You didn't notice those 4 buttons are larger and easier to push? They are the same as on the full metal models.

If you are interested in the full metal, this won't be enough! IMO the rubber strap looks cheap on the metal case. Not for me, this one.
So how does a $70 watch with a $30 bezel cost $180 to $200 ?

Not defending casio but the MSRP is 180 i think, the regular dw5600 has a 100 MSRP, and the bezel you are referring to is an aftermarket one*
Also the buttons are bigger and the caseback is better than the stamped one on the dw5600
