    Great info. Really appreciate it. Live in an area that is prone to high humidity so sometimes it's hard to keep everything balanced.

    How long would u dry box an opus vs a liga privada for example?

    • @DLovWife
      @DLovWife  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I dry box until the cigar feels good in hand. To simplify this a little more. I dry box cigars until they are between 60% and 63% under the cap. So you will have to check them with a meter before smoking. This process can take 4 to 5 days. Just depends on the size of the cigar and your humidor’s ability to remove moisture. The more wood a humidor has, the better! I have dry boxed a cigar for over 2 weeks before to bring the humidity down.

      @@DLovWife thank you! Would u advise against cutting the cap before dry boxing?

    • @DLovWife
      @DLovWife  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, I have done that before. I do it based on it the cigar needs it or not. Mostly on cigars with a closed foot.

    Aint no Insulation, HVACs, or humidifiers in japanese homes....lol I'm no MAAD scientist, but i know its difficult to keep a control and controlled environment.
    This video helps a lot since I know i checked a lot of the boxes

    • @DLovWife

      Damn man. Very hard to control humidity without insulation, HAVCs, humidifiers or dehumidifiers. Haha I tried to suggest using a compressor driven humidor like the 840 Newair the other night. Because I have heard the compressor strips the air of humidity. I may look further into the science behind it one day. If you can ever figure out a consistent method, then you are going to be a very rich man!

      @@DLovWife i have this humidor now, i pulled all of my boveda packs and left it closed for days to see if it'll re adjust. But the weather in Japan is volital right now, winter,, quick spring, rainy season to humid summer.
      I went from all of my cigars being ready to smoke to damn near soaked in a few weeks.
      I thought i was tripping, but it was most of the cigars, different brand..
      Had to pull a D lov and completely recalibrate everything. Even dry boxing is difficult because the air is humid in house now. Every room has a different climate. You should look into Japanese homes.. its wild

      Sounds like you are a soldier brother. I would have moved on to golfing by now. My hobby would have changed up completely. 🤣 Have you considered moving? That should fix the issue. Hahaha

      @@DLovWife LMAO. Its not as bad it sounds. Just a temporary setback. I got way worse things happening than humidity. And these tupperdors work well. Just gotta adapt
