I've been seeing a ton of feedback saying the game is going to be crazy pay to win. As someone with hands on experience, any chance you could give us an update on whether that's still the case?
The reason people was saying this is because of the legendary gems that was locked behind a paywall. The devs have already responded to this, and confirmed a change that makes it 100% possible for f2p to get the same legendary gems.
i have the same doubt as well. If im not mistaken, p2w mechanics will be onlo for those who are playing with a competitive mindset. For the rest of us, the average players, is not going to affect anything.
@@dbrowdy have you tried playing PoE for more than a few hours without buying special stash tabs? The game feels considerably worse because they need an improvement to monetize. Imagine if PoE required you to pay for loot filters... the game would be dramatically less enjoyable!
Started with Crusader and haven’t looked back, so versatile. Though I’ve begun leveling a monk to have a solid alternate that can still support and provide a little dps. Will probably round it out with a Barbarian
Hey Rhykker! Could you make a video about monetization on D:I? I see lots of people talking about how p2w it is, but I'd love to hear your take on it. I'll play the game anyway, the monetization only determines how long until I quit it haha
The short answer is "it's complicated," and I don't have enough experience with the game's monetization to speak about it authoritatively. However, my understanding is the following: spending money in this game will not make someone who plays 1 hour a day be able to catch up with someone who plays 8 hours a day. But if everything else is equal - skill, time played, etc. - then the person who spends money will be a bit ahead of the person who does not spend money.
I picked up my phone last night and had a notification that I could download the game. I did and played a while on a Barbarian. I was surprised that it was available early to me, I did sign up for the PC beta, so maybe that is why. Anyway, I like the controls so far, I am amazed at how good it looks on my Iphone 13. I still wish it was bigger, its hard to read, but the texts are conversations, and well, you can hear it, so not so big of a deal. I can't wait till I can try it on PC.
Seems like the game is really (obviously so) marketed towards the mobile player base and end game groups kills the single player vibe for us old school guys who like solo play with multiplayer trading or xp runs
It is first and foremost a mobile game. It always has been and always will be. It is for that reason I will play through all content once as it comes out for the Diablo lore. I'm not going to be doing the crappy grind to make a character better in a bummy mobile game. I have D2R for a fun ARPG grind.
So essentially when it comes to the tier list, necomancer is the way to go, it stays pretty much at A rank the entire time, never falling into B category and hits S rank for boss killing...glad that is the one i went with before watching all the review videos :)
@@SimpleEnigma331 I see that, however necromancer because of it's summons i think edge out the DH though, since they can be used to tank. I'll give DH a go, but while i'm still low sitting at level 38, i've been clearing everything with ease. Very rarely get low on health and the corpse lance just completely decimates elder rift runs. So far this being my first Diablo game, i'm having a lot of fun with it, and i'm glad i chose necromancer.
I don't know a ton about it, but I thought I heard something about it having MMO aspects and it'll be good when you're having to wait and didn't think to bring your switch. Plus new areas and stuff. I'm not incredibly hyped about it, but I'll check it out.
If you make a non mobility wizard you can be cleaning dungeons like its nothing. The only negative was lassal mechanics , you dont have time to escape without teleport. But i can spawn 3 skills almost in the same place and clear all mobs. Meteor , traveling black hole and ice crystal
i have always only played DH.. so its nice to see that DH seems to have been shown alot of love in Immortal. and i dont care much about PvP anyways.. so it seems like a perfect fit for me.

Who gives a shit. Just play the game for as long as u enjoy and then uninstall, it's literally free, no need to spend anything.
The reason people was saying this is because of the legendary gems that was locked behind a paywall. The devs have already responded to this, and confirmed a change that makes it 100% possible for f2p to get the same legendary gems.
Win what? If you're pvp, this might be an issue. If not, who cares, just don't spend money...
i have the same doubt as well.
Necromancer for life, I hope they add him in D4
Right? I feel like Ainz from Overlord >.
non of the classes are bad But non of them are great either tough choice indeed
All of them are amazing if you spend money tho :)
Did you not see that the DH was S-tier for everything except pvp which no one cares about...
Being forced to play one character gives me next to zero hope that this game will shy away from your typical mobile games and be GOOD.
The vid I been waiting on
This game is literally Diablo 3 on Mobile. Why are people so hyped about it?
Same DH Has always been my main since 3
@@ddrpimp123 Same. DH main for life, love everything about that class.
Dh is love. Those are my main in d3
lets goo!! so excite to start mah new DH
It would of been nice if Diablo Immortal had different classes to D3. I feel like this is the mobile version of D3 :(
Yes , i was wondering the same thing.
It reuses a lot of assets but at least the lore is completely new so it doesn't really bother me. I am going to play through all content once for the lore and be satisfied. Definitely not spending money on it, though.
Wizard! I used it for Diablo3 and had a great experience.. gonna try it again!
The most important factor is which character do you think looks the best
Thanks for the video. Gonna roll Crusader, but really wish Witch Doctor was in the game. I know it wasn't everyone's fav, but WD is my favorite Diablo class
I hear Visa and Mastercard are really strong in this one 😂
I'm honestly disappointed your first video after launch is about playing this game, not how absolutely scummy the monitization is. Not cool dude.
Also, pretty sure the class change is paid... they just built in another reason to make you pay up.
Once a barbarian, always a barbarian ❤️
Thanks for this video Rhyker. I thought I'd go crusader but as someone who will be playing 99.9% solo this video sold me on Necro.
Diablo 3.5, looks like an expansion, I can't really see myself playing past the story, hopefully I'm wrong, but it looks very underwhelming
Hold in your head an image of Diablo 3, the stale unattended story, the uninteresting game play, the linear decision making. Ok now make all of that slightly worse. You are now imagining Diablo Immortal. That will be 1,000 dollars please.
Hey brother hope you’re doing well, you’re in my thoughts. Thanks for taking the time to make this.
Which class reduces micro transaction costs? That will, by default, be the OP class
Hell Difficulty is disappointing due to the forced co-op(For Dungeons)
for both immortal and D4 I'm greatly disappointed by forced co-op
@@zebedeesummers4413 D4 has forced Co-Op?
Who cares
@@galaxybeaker4269 I don't think it does but it looks like it will have forced shared game sessions while running around.
Gave them a quick try and my favorites are probably barbarian and demon hunter. I'll probably pick demon hunter as my main for now
I'm maining MONK. I like a challenge and not following the trends
Got u mate… we r on same path. 👍🤘
High quality video. Very informative. I was hoping Witch Doctor but its not in the game lol. Maybe Necro then
Don't play it at all. And every youtuber making vids like this promoting this pay-to-win crap should be ashamed.
Every since the Online Elder Scrolls trailer were it showed the ranger eliminating everyone effortlessly like a bada$$,I loved characters like the Demon hunter. Didn’t fail to disappoint
the best class is your credit card. ....this game has such ridic p2w its not even funny anymore
Its a f2p mobile game..... who cares about p2w .
@@jeffsanders5444 *insert GTFO meme here*
Wizard all the way, was good in the beta. The synergy sold me.
mastercard is the best class
shit game
Which class can bypass the $100 000 gate?
I went with the wizard class, but mostly for nostalgia reasons. Back when the 1st diablo was released that was my jam. Diablo 2 was necro and amazon... so i was considering necro as a contender. i'm enjoying the wizard class now, but i am happy to know that i can change class down the road.
Yeah that's good to know that u can change class without grinding again. I chose wizard as well.
Necro, been playing just over a week and I love this class :}
Amazing thanks Rhykker!!
Actually pretty hyped for this, 100% Barb squad inc!
I'd choose DH, because usually these bow and arrow physical ranged dps classes are what clicks with me, but the low build variety here makes me start with necro.
