When output to the motor was short-circuited, it actually shorting the battery power source to 0 volts, preventing the holding relay voltage to 0 volts, great circuit for up to 12 volts, not for any other voltages, unsafe practice, thanks.
The relay switches off AFTER and because the power supply has been overloaded already.Try this with a car starter battery, and it will burn your relay or the cables. Press the button while the output is shortened, it will destroy the button. Try this with an unprotected AC adapter, it will destroy the adapter. Try this with a protected AC adapter and ask yourself if you need this relay.

@@milanhlavacek6730 there's a lot of mosfet to choose from depending on your needs so just choose the correct one and you will not have any problems. And for AC circuit protections we use a dedicated circuit breakers.

@Raghul Prakash it will not work for lower voltages from 1V to 8V supply if you are using a 12volt relay ,because in order to actuate a 12Volt relay you need a 9.6V supply.

i made the circuit, but when i shorted the o/p the relay didn't de-energize, infact the wires smoked & i had to disconnect the power, i think the circuit works with ps who already have s/c protection, i powered up using 3s 18650 w/o bms, also when i gave power through 12V 1A smps adapter the circuit worked as intended cause the smps was cutting the o/p & de-energizing the relay.

Thank you for the video. I integrated above with (Auto on when power off circuit) It has 2 input points One for adopter & other for battery. But when I connect adapter to any of points the short circuit protection works. But when I connect battery to any of points it doesn't work. My battery is 18650 3S lithium battery pack with BMS. This is a dangerous circuit. There is no current sensing device anywhere in it. If you implement it with a healthy 12V battery and a 12V coiled relay and try to "test" it, THERE WILL BE NOTHING LEFT OF IT. The whole circuit will melt down...

For 230v users ,u can use mcb and any circit breakers ,they can protect from high and low voltages to ur appliances

You should use current limiter such as potentio. Search for overcurrent protection.
