Thank you for that video, very informative ! Would it be possible to show us how to do the same kind of thing using TouchOSC instead of the Slide Duo ?
Hey, great tutorial. I’m currently using the audio midi set up and connect ports from there. But I have to répète the process every time I disconnect the unit. Does making everything from auracle make the link permanent? Thank you
if i want to use this box for both 4 inputs and 4 thru ports for my dawless gear, could i configure it that way? with additional inputs via the USB-A ports?
Hey i have a PlayAudio12 and a mioXM, and i have them hooked up to 2 macs working in redundancy with ableton live. I also have a PUSH 2, which i have hooked up to the midi host port on the mioXM, and i can send midi from the push to both machines, but the push will not display anything from Ableton that it normally would. I would assume that its because it would need to connect direct to the machine to do that, and using the host USB ports will only pass MIDI information, and even if it could pass other information it would be competing from the 2 computers. Have you figured out a way to make this work, or have some other solution about how to use a redundant ableton system with a push?
Do you have any idea if you can Use software editors with the MioXm ? I watch a lot of your videos and you seems to really know the interfaces, but I cannot find this answer and support is not "supporting" at all. Thank you !
Hi Will! I've got a question : I've seen many people using the MioXM offstage, some even use one MioXM on stage and another one offstage. What's the point ? I thought that the purpose of a MioXM was to put in on stage with you to control all your midi devices then send an ethernet cable back to your laptop (or your PlayAudio 12). Pretty sure I'm missing something here, could you explain to me please ?
that's certainly a use of it. It's a MIDI interface so it can convert MIDI, split MIDI, combine MIDI, connect to 12 different sources via RTP, and manage 8 USB MIDI devices...all in one interface.
Love your videos. It’s a ton of help. I have a question. I use touchable pro to control my live rig. Is it possible to run it via Mioxm’s rtp connection and if so - how 😅? I’ve tried for quit some time, but can’t wrap my head around it. Cheers
Hey will, great video! Can I use the mioXM to send midi over the same network I’m running dante on? Quick back story, I use an x32 with the dante card. I run tracks from stage via dante, and send audio from the x32 to a separate IMac through ableton for vocal processing, then back to the board. I also run a third computer (a PC 😢) for running propresenter 7. Currently all my midi connections are via WiFi to run lyrics and also change keys in waves tune real time. I’d like to be able to communicate midi via Ethernet to all the computers. So I guess the questions are, can I run the midi on the same network as dante, and will I be able to connect the 3-4 computers together via midi with the mioXM?
How would rename ports? And how would they appear in Live whether on Mac or Win? This was possible in the past. But ow it is no more. How do you solve that? I am curious...
@@fromstudiotostage So are you able to sync all the gears with abelton clock with no delay? I am preparing for a live show where I need to sync my Roland sp mark II with ableton and Yama psr-s670. If you kindly share your thoughts about syncing with this Product, it will help me to decide to get this one. TIA
Are there any MIDI controllers that output rtpMIDI in such a way that you can connect the MIDI controller (via ethernet) directly to a PlayAUDIO12 without the need for a MioXM in the middle of the signal chain? Or is it best to summarize that two computers or one computer & one PlayAUDIO12 can connect to each other directly via rtpMIDI, but connecting any other devices will require a MioXM (or an equivalent device) to act as an adapter/middleman in the signal chain? Just trying to understand what the absolute minimum equipment requirements are to begin testing this type of setup in a situation that requires rtpMIDI . I can see how this might easily grow, requiring a MioXM to connect multiple MIDI controllers. Thank you.
Hey, just throwing this question out for anyone who is reading. I think I know the answer but want to ask anyone who owns this product. I play an SPD-SX controlling Ableton via Midi (normally through a focusrite interface) for my live sets. I'm trying to achieve the most minimal amount of latency possible. Would this signal path potentially achieve this?: SPD-SX (midi out) -> MioXm (midi in) -> network switch (ethernet) -> MacBook (ableton)... Or anyone who's done something similar attest to their success or failure with latency? Thanks!

Could this be used to program a guitar pedal loop switcher to switch patches through midi clips?
Yes!

Will do you need to create host port reservations for DIN connections or is it purely a USB protocol? Thanks man

Yes, it can run alongside a wired network connection that already carries Dante : fromstudiotostage.com/courses/using-dante-with-ableton-live/
@@fromstudiotostage thanks Will!
Dude! You totally fixed my Mio!! Thank you!
Glad I could help!
Can I change the midi notes that the oak board sends?
yes
question - how does the unit have 4 physical host port connections but the software setup app shows 8 HSTs?
Powered USB hub gives you up to 8

You can rename ports in Auracle for X series, this is still possible
What bout latency while playing through the Abelton?
Zero latency

I’m not aware of any RTP enabled MIDI Controllers
Great video.
So in theory am I able to send midi info from my keys rig on stage to my DAW computer in another room?
Would latency be an issue?
Yes that’s right…and effectively zero latency introduced by the interface
It would be amazing if you did a video on Antares Autotune for live too! Great videos thanks
Yes! I’ve got a few courses out already and will have a few tutorials up soon
VERY NICE!
THANKS!
