He talks absolutely the same on and off camera, no matter what. I askes Andy; is there anything you want me to cut out? And he said absolutely not haha I don't know anyone in Reptiles with the balls to be that transparent
10mins he is talking about respect and helping each other. Right after he got done talking about intentionally undercutting others in order to break them. Even stated he would rather lose money then see someone else make it
Andy and Diana are awesome people and I definitely look up to them. I've been vending alongside them at SO many shows now, so it's always awesome seeing the southern reptile supplies business grow even more. Awesome job on this video dude! Hope to see you at another expo, it was awesome meeting you guys at narbc :)
They are awesome! We will be around. I'm working on editing my vlog from that day so you will be in it!! But I'm also easily distracted so hopefully I finish soon
"I wish we could all get along" "I hate competition, ill crush competition, ill lose money to make sure you never step back in my side of the woods again". 🤣 you are literally the reason you can't all get along. Not bashing the hustle just pointing out the fact
I just now found this video. YESSS! Thank you for being honest and down to earth like this. A big issue with vendors in my area is that 90% of them just have high end animals. Some have normal ball pythons, but trying to find low end corn snakes and geckos is like a needle in a haystack. At the end of the day, you're not just vending to breeders, it might be a kid who's parent wants to get them a pet reptile so you gotta have the lower end animals, and the supplies to care for them!
Yeah, reptiles are already fuckin cool as they are, it really sucks how the reptile "market" favors overpriced morphs and charges more money when a species gets popular despite there being an abundance of them. It makes zero sense to me how something like a tokay or leopard gecko for example is considered a "cheap" lizard. But if a dude gets one with a new paint job and breeds it all of the sudden it's 500, 600, 800, or thousands of dollars for it. The average person doesn't typically have that kind of money to blow and even the low end of those prices would be sombodys budget to get the animal and the proper set up, not just the animal. Too many people factor their prices like rich people tally up tax write offs. The sad side effect of the morph craze is that people actively blow thousands on the newest morph with hundreds of normal looking animals are floating around Craigslist for free because nobody wants the "boring" ones. It's nice to hear sombody in the business that tries to stay reasonable and still has success
@@Chudchanning My comment did not age well lol. Few months later, now my local shows are full of nothing but buckskin, patternless, and dal crested geckos all within the $60-$200 range. The new attitude now is "dont waste your time with high ends, nobody can afford them". Ugh! I dont understand why their cant be a happy medium within the community. As breeders, we control the prices on our table. If nobody is buying your 1k lily..maybe that's a sign you need to change your price. Nah instead everyone in my area just gave up and only work with low end morphs now. Shaking my head. Supplies are now a huge problem as well, if anyone wants an enclosure they have to go pay the overpriced pet store prices because none of the brands are working with expo vendors anymore! I tried exo terra, pangea, zoo med, all 3 will not work with vendors. You have to have a brick and mortar store already stocked and running for them to even consider letting you be a dealer of their products. We only have 1 dry goods vendor at the show I've been doing, and he doesnt even have enclosures. Between overpricing, bad attitudes, premiums, and being unable to have enclosures/dry goods at shows...the reptile industry is falling apart.
@@angellea9061 that's a bummer to hear. I've been pondering the idea of entering the industry somehow. I never got to go to conventions until last year (I lived very rural until a few years ago) and didn't really follow content either since I was late to the party with technology, but I've kept reptiles my entire life and always had a passion for them. It was pretty jarring for me to be introduced to the whole large scale breeder and morph aspect of the industry, and I have to admit I was alittle disappointed when I went to the convention with 600 bucks I saved up only to discover I couldn't really afford much of anything available aside from invertebrates and feeders. There's no doubt that there are some beautiful animals in the trade, but the current accepted price ranges and the general attitudes are relatively discouraging from my personal perspective. I hate being looked down on as some kind of cheapskate where the "high end" breeders have the mentality that comes off like sombody saying you shouldn't have a license if you can't buy a Bently or a Lamborghini. I also noticed that the majority of animals were crested gecko morphs and ball python morphs so that must be where alot of the money is at currently. I just hope to see some more unity and more passion over profit in the future, it's kind of sad how hobbies become inherently less fun the deeper you explore into them
@@Chudchanning Agreed. The deeper I get into the breeders side of the trade, the less and less love and passion I see. Some still have it, but there's a ton of stuff that happens behind the scenes that shows what really comes first for many.
Respect, I’ll take honesty, truth and real over any fake or phony any day. I’ve purchased dry goods and Isopods from you guys at both Repticons this year in Okc and as long as you’re there, I’ll continue to do so. Never knew you had a website until now, about to check you out online.
Love people who care about the reptiles. When I vend at shows I always see who has the best housing products but as well know how to properly care for the animals. Love people like this keep it up
I know not to do it only for money but its an asset to keep the business going but in general I love reptiles and I think my desire to learn more about reptiles and the love for them is a good motive for to start.
You are a good man who cares about reptiles. I bought from you 2-3 times before in Arlington TX reptile Expo. Your prices are always cheaper than chain stores.
I like to know the facts I compared his prices with big retailers like petsmart and even eBay. This man blows them out of the water with his goods. His goods are about 30% off any item. I checked petsmart they had a 60 gallon tank for $250 this wonderful man sells his product for $175 and his is 75 gallon. This guy is about to monopolized the whole industry.

Pretty much any business is a cutthroat business. There's some selling at a ridiculous price where you sell at market price. You work hard to get where you're at while others are trying to unload shit just to make a little extra money. You have to make money for your business while competitors are sabotaging your business at low prices.

Heck, even earlier in the video he was complaining about about assholes who sell the same reptile for $15 when everyone else is trying to sell them for more which makes it impossible to turn a profit. How do you know they weren't simply operating with your business model and losing money to chase the competition (young upstart) out of "their" neck of the woods? Hypocrisy on display right here.
I agree with you people are idiots im in the same boat started with a dragon last yr now 10 retiles later we want to breed ball pythons cool video i wish i can do something like your self in the future
War Against Myself a rather docile snake, and they’re not big either, the way they eat is funny and honestly they’re all around a really good snake, Id definitely get one if I had the money
You talk at the beginning about "jackasses" underpricing, but then go on to describe that as a core part of how you work shows. Don't you see the irony in that if everyone took your advice?
If he was black talking the way he talking. These comments would be so different smh this world crazy. That dude rude asf period. Seems like he trying to make a point to someone instead of making a video about his business. Brutal honesty lmao. He making a statement seems someone done rough his feather about cheap products. Do you do the Atlanta repticon show? I'm in need of a aboreal cage for my green tree python and jungle carpet pythons
I don't think Andy goes that far east yet
So how exactly do you go about producing all those non animal things for the animals and having that as a business?
That’s just how it is...
How does this guy say he beats prices when there is MAP pricing on dry goods from the manufacturer?
Not all products have MAP. But still I guess theres room on many products.
How do u get the stuff to sell if u don’t have a company
If you are getting stuff to sell... doesn't that make you a company? You contact a wholesaler/distributor
i fuckin like this guy! i like turtles too, way to go!
Love the rebel flag tattoo southern pride! #notracistjustsouthern
You may not want it to be racist but it is. Hell you may not want a nazi flag to be antisemetic... but it is.
Do you do any shows in alabama
I agree with you people are idiots im in the same boat started with a dragon last yr now 10 retiles later we want to breed ball pythons cool video i wish i can do something like your self in the future
I spend 150 on a snake and 800 on terrarium setup just to make sure she is gonna be ok
whats your opinion on the western hognose if i may ask?
War Against Myself a rather docile snake, and they’re not big either, the way they eat is funny and honestly they’re all around a really good snake, Id definitely get one if I had the money
4:45 i love you
😂😂
You talk at the beginning about "jackasses" underpricing, but then go on to describe that as a core part of how you work shows. Don't you see the irony in that if everyone took your advice?
There’s just something about this guy’s demeanor that says “jerk”.
Good Libertarian!
If he was black talking the way he talking. These comments would be so different smh this world crazy. That dude rude asf period. Seems like he trying to make a point to someone instead of making a video about his business. Brutal honesty lmao. He making a statement seems someone done rough his feather about cheap products. Even said ion care what pet co told you. “This here is what you need” what a wack job with no license and tells someone to not listen to a pet place …
