I think at 7:58 the video its a representation of the game developer getting so immersed and addicted to the game that he start to look for puzzles everywhere, therefore the way he touches at the circle at the bathroom door looking to solve a puzzle. I think the last scene when he gets out its to remind the player or any person watching that the real world can also be beautiful, when he gets out to the garden, stops looking for puzzles and just enjoy the fact that he is there.

9:15 I think it's obvious. The guy you're following is the playable character from the game, somehow escaped into the real world. Think about what we see him doing. He's trying to make sense of the world around him using patterns and connections like in the game, and seems genuinely confused when it doesn't work. Not you mention how he never speaks, like how most games of that kind have no dialogue. And with the visuals of the game, him being more calm outside makes sense, too
You are the player, the player is you. He is a "real" person that you are "viewing"
Plus from what I seen, they're the creator of the game, and it's a great easter egg.

He was in a vr kind of situation. He’s been stuck in that game for years (probably of his own creation) he’s been in there for so long that he got used to doing those different actions. He’s loss sense of how the world works and still remembering how to function after being stuck in that game for so long. Like Sword Art Online without the death part.

The fourth wall break of the puzzle one is clearly a guy who disconnected from a vr type world, he had been in there for awhile, thus having a christmas tree up. He was completing "puzzles" in the real world to go through any doors. (Circling the restroom sign) (the cups with the spoon) etc.. he forgot he didnt need puzzles for our reality

Maybe he's not thinking as them as puzzles but he doesn't remember the "controls" for the real world like the controls for a video game - he knows the button to open a door in a video game, but he doesn't know how to open a door in real life.

ANIMEBEAST27 it was a different time my friend. Back when then video games were still synonymous with children's play toys. It wasn't well known enough to the main stream for them to see a difference with adult and child games. As for politicians, they just ran with it as a ploy to get angry parents to vote for them.

The Witness ending was suggesting the guy had become so I tuned with the virtual world that he began searching for the puzzles in the real world. No?
That's definitely part of it (why he's hitting all the circles etc). IMO, it's also a weird attempt to suggest the game is in fact "in-universe" a game (if that makes sense). It's suggesting in some way that you are actually playing "as" the guy in the FMV. I think it's kind of brilliant to be honest - it's not something that really has a super-clear and obvious explanation for exactly what's happening, but when you look at it and compare it with themes and ideas that are presented throughout the game (about knowledge, learning, systems of abstraction, ways of thinking).
I dont really know anything of the series or game but I took it as the person was going through medical problem at the time anything like fighting an illness or disease and choose to make a world similar to the one they knew where they felt safe and wanted to share it with others.

Definitely. I actually think it's the developer of The Witness itself. Every puzzle in the game starts with a circle, which you interact with to start the puzzle. They can be found in the landscape itself too, with a circle and a line. You can see him tapping every round object he sees, staring at the ground in his yard (which has the same layout as most puzzles) and even staring at the sky looking for round clouds and such. I've felt the same thing after playing The Witness, I saw patterns everywhere in real life. I think the developer has spent so much time working on the game that he can't seperate life and the game.. Which sounds really sad when I think about it after seeing that cutscene.

The Witness FMV looked like waking up on a Ketamine trip, in fact it's exactly like that, I've seen guys do some weird stuff like that while on it. Guys that haven't ever even played the game, it's strangely consistent.
The Witness FMV was pretty obvious, I don't know how you didn't catch on to it yet.
The guy you play as wakes up in the real world and struggles to get through door and stuff because he's still trying to use the game mechanics in this universe. And the random tapping with a spoon was just him trying to solve a puzzle, waiting for something to happen

The first time I played Witness, I accidentally activated the Sun door after getting stuck on the first area. I then watched the FMV and thought I’d beaten a very short and abstract puzzle game.
I didn’t realize that was an Easter egg. Whoops.
The one from The Witness is actually the "true" ending of the game, and is making allusions to the tetris effect. The person you're seeing the pov from is experience the said tetris effect and is trying to make connections between different circles as if he was still in the game.

G0OFY T-Posing is used to reset the character model to its default position, so after a scene or if something goes wrong and needs to be cut. T-Poses are constant in Motion Capture, so it’s not that amazing.

I think you don't understand. Actors who do motion capture must start from T-Pose and end with T-Pose, is easier later for animators to work on character models.

I think The Witness Easter egg is trying to say “open your eyes and appreciate our real world”. The virtual world is beautiful in that game, but our own world can be pretty mesmerizing too if you try to see it with eyes that don’t just accept it as “normal/ordinary”.
Imagine being blind from birth up until the moment you hear this comment; wouldn’t the site of everything, even things people consider boring and normal, leave you in awe and wonder?

I think that it has a little more to do with going insane playing the game. He most likely plays A LOT so he was testing out his real world just to make sure that he wasnt still in the simulation. I thought it was poetic in a sense.
I feel like its an interpretation of obsessive compulsive disorder.The game makes you a witness to what its like. Thats why he was tapping spoons on things, and trying to draw lines on things. the way the game asks for peculiar task and gives gratification, and feels compulsive in nature. pretty interesting imagery in the final scene..

The scene's motion capture and the animations for it might have bugged out. As it's just a blooper you get to see, they didn't take the time to fine-tune that particular cutscene. At least that's my guess. I could be wrong though.

Someone else said in one of the comments the actors have to go into T-Pose at the top of every take to "reset" the capture. Idk how true it is, but sounds accurate.

@ oddheader I am not at all sure, but I think it could work like a clapboard. They do it starting and ending every take, at least in the footage i've seen from Naughty Dog motion capture. I think the witness one is a reference to the tetris effect (seeing everywhere how shapes would fit together if they were tetris pieces), most of the things he interacts with are round/circles, much like what you move around in the game, and right at the end it's a grid shape like most of the puzzles

This seems fake. I just tried this on my PS1 with the sliver disc and nothing happens.
Edit: There are no files at all on the reverse side of the disc. Unless this was only on certain prints or he is misremembering which game/edition it was. Only the Greatest Hits version had a clear/silver cover, I highly doubt they'd even bother burning this easter egg on a greatest hits cover as they usually didn't even print those covers with color ink to save money.
